Frazier explained that they can only perform the work that the customer or seller or Agent paid for. I understand that part, but as I told him - no one asked me who paid for my floor - All they see is the end result - which was not good. They did not repaint the trim, which i will do myself - I told him that selecting one color to paint everything is fine, but you still need to prep. There were other issues when the redid the floor - the decorative toe kick on the NEW cabinets came out in the middle and instead of glueing it back they wanted to nail it. I asked that it be glued and they did glue it... but Nailed it anyway...they left tools and trash of theirs and took a tote of mine. Which was quickly taken care of. They were nice enough to replace the gold threshold with silver. The floor now looks fabulous - they tore up the vinyl, put new underlayment in the whole kitchen and put down a new piece of vinyl. I appreciate Chase and his follow up! 1. I needed a gas line put in for the dryer and a water line for the fridge. I got an estimate of $1200. I thought that was high so I asked if I could save $400 by going to the city myself to get the permit. Frazier told me he gave me everything I would need to pull a permit for a gas line. I have the letter of approval from the HOA and a drawing of my kitchen showing where the line was going. The very nice people at the permit department in Alameda told me that I needed a drawing showing all the BTUs, etc showing that it was possible to install a gas line, not a drawing showing where it should go. And they told me that a licensed contracter should have known better. I agree. so I got another estimate from Todd Roberts at Roberts Plumbing and he took care of everything for $675. Now I am having a problem with the linoleum floor that was put in the kitchen. It is bubbling and they obviously did not level the floor becuase I can see the outline or a sheet of plywood that is now coming up and will soon come right thru the floor! They painted everything Beige - walls, ceiling, woodwork..everthing. I am certain that the color was at the request of the previous owner, so I repainted the walls and ceiling, but when I started on the trim and doors I noticed that the new paint was peeling off. What company would paint without priming? I asked my HOA and the Realtor how to proceed and they said contact Total Works and have them come out and fix it. I have an email in to Frazier and will update this when and if they contact me. UPDATE 9-2-14 A very nice man named Chase just called in response to my email adn has scheduled a time to come out and make things right.

This is a review and summary of my experience with Total Works Corp contractors Jorge and Bayardo…read morebetween 3/25 and 3/30. I wanted a bit of work done on my condominium, and sent an email with a list of specific items I wanted renovated. They responded by saying they could give me a quote, but that they would need to see the condominium first. This is a given, so I drove out two hours to the condominium in San Francisco to meet with Bayardo. He was a little late, but that is understandable because the parking in the area is atrocious. Bayardo was a really nice guy, and we went through every item that needed to be renovated. I told him that the renovation was time-sensitive, and that I would like a quote ASAP. He took pictures of everything and promised a quote by that night. The next day, I receive an email from Jorge saying that they can't provide a quote because they need to see the place again. So I ask if he can meet that day, and he's unable to. I ask if they can meet over the weekend, but he's busy. So Jorge suggest the following week, and I hesitate because the renovation is extremely time-sensitive with the HOA meeting coming up. He promises to meet on Monday, so I reluctantly agree. Monday morning, I wake up early and drive two hours into the city to meet Jorge. Less than an hour before our meeting time, he texts me to say that he's canceling, and that he won't be working with me. In succinct, Total Works Corp is extremely unreliable and unprofessional. One of the most critical things in contracting work is reliability-you don't want your contractor abandoning a job mid-contract. If you're considering working with Total Works Corp, please be cautious and consider other options.

They accepted the call, and said they would call the tenant with the ETA (about an hour) so I stopped contacting other companies on that basis. I called back when the tenant called me 90 minutes later asking when the crew was coming. I then called Ty. He said he was still working on the team - one was ready to go and another on the way. One hour and two calls to him later, he finally admitted they could not fulfill the job. I understand crews aren't always available late at night -- but accepting a time-sensitive sewage emergency and then releasing it three hours later cost me the most critical window of the night, with tenants displaced and contamination sitting on the floors. If you can't staff a job, say so on the first call so the customer can go elsewhere immediately. I ended up starting from scratch with another company after midnight. Thank goodness for Dry Kings. Don't waste your time with these charlatans for any after-hour call.

I.e. a bit slow to respond, not always clear on what was happening or needed to happen, etc. Those communication and transparency issues quickly compounded while attempting to get an estimate from the company to submit to my insurance for further repair authorization. The first estimate they eventually provided was exorbitant. It included a raft of suspect looking billing charges and included re-painting areas of the home that were completely unaffected by the flooding. I asked that they, please, re-do the estimate for my insurance and only outline the specific areas of the home that needed to be addressed. Then began literal weeks of frustratingly erratic communication. I was assured on several occasions via text or email that they were "working on it", or "sorry for the delay, the project manager is currently out but he'll get back to you soon", and the like. After nearly a month of waiting on a simple, correct, repair estimate I received the following text message: "We are going to cancel on this repair. Sorry about the inconvenience". Further inquiries were ignored. Speaking from painful experience, there is already nothing more stressful than dealing with the aftermath of a flooding issue at your home. You do not need the further aggravation of contending with an uncommunicative company. And, a company who was seemingly only interested in repairing my home if their original, utterly ludicrous and inaccurate, estimate had been accepted by my insurance company. The entire thing, at best, could be described as unpleasant. I would go further and share I think their actions are unethical. Do better, Allied. Potential customers, I recommend you look elsewhere for help.

Unlike any big contractor, they took their time to diligently fix and replace every wood siding that needed to be replaced prior to the paint job. Our homes are not easily accessible but the crew did a fabulous job in reaching out to every nook and corner where there was damaged siding. When I compare their job with the last iteration, it is obvious to me how much more care they took to get it right. Luis and Myra runs this company with integrity. It was very easy communicating my needs with Luis or his crew on a daily basis. Having seen a few more jobs they did around my neighborhood, I did not shop for quotes but I can say with certain degree of certainty that the money was well spent. I was hopeful that Setter was going to be a helpful solution for a few home projects but they are…read moresimply not up for the task... -When I contracted with them for home drywall install they were confident their Pro could get the job done quickly and efficiently. After the first day of install, it was very evident the Pro had minimal experience hanging drywall (if any) and I needed to stop them immediately - gaps between sheets that were hung in incorrect directions, etc. (see pics). I contacted another sub-contractor and we had to tear everything down before starting again. I give 2 stars here for the customer service received from Jesse on the Setter team for stopping the Pro immediately and providing a small credit. -Giving Jesse the benefit of the doubt and having already had a Pro provide a quote, I gave Setter the opportunity to make up for the mishap and engaged with them for tiling services for bathrooms. Long story short, the project they quoted would take 8 days of labor ended up taking 14 and nearly double the initial quoted cost. The Pros they sent showed up late, left early and some days did not show up at all. The part that was most disappointing is that Setter charged 3 days or work for a task that took a single day and auto-debits your credit card once they have it on file. One of the biggest issues regarding Setter is not being able to communicate with the Pro themselves and having to go through Setter which often causes long delays and added costs (i.e. if a Pro needs more of a certain material, they let Setter know and eventually you're notified during M-F business hours). Setter also states they'll provide the basic materials for the job (sponges, gloves, wipes, etc.) and then sends you a bill for them afterwards. Setter should take a step back and secure qualified Pros before expanding to any additional services or geographies - I would not recommend you waste your time/money until they do.

Run as far as away as possible if you're considering them for any home improvement work…read more I had Setter replace a patch of wood flooring in my kitchen and the scratched flooring in the downstairs bedroom. I also asked them to do the room repaint while they were at it. The job was a disaster on nearly every level. I'm not sure the "pro" they brought on had even installed wood flooring before. First Attempt: - Large misaligned gaps between all the boards, and the wall. - Floor was uneven throughout - Squeaks in several places. - In the kitchen, they cut the boards close to the island leaving several inches of lined up cut board, covered in glue. For the paint job, there were just three cans of paint, that matched with the exist paint. One for the trim, one for the wall, and one for the bathroom wall. They managed to paint the entire room in an obviously different color, and then only "discover" the other paint I had pointed out them later. The paint job itself was really subpar with patched areas not blending at all, and any are of detail looking messy. Second attempt: After complaining about the issues. Setter promised to fix it for me and send out a supervisor as well This meant they sent back the same unqualified pro to try and fix his mistakes. And the person they had to supervise showed up once or twice for a couple of hours. He tore out all the wood flooring he had used in the first pass and threw it away. And by throw it away, I mean he left it in the rain outside my house in a garbage bag, and never actually disposed of it or any of the other trash on the job site. All of the flooring is expensive Brazilian Chestnut hardwood that I bought. Like the paint, Setter never reimbursed me for this. Even worse, the flooring is discontinued. I spent months tracking down the last few boxes of the flooring so that the repairs would match. So now, any future repairs or projects are impossible. At the end of the second attempt, the gaps were improved but still pretty bad by any flooring standard. Even worse, he managed to heavily damage the new wood being installed. And there's still a huge gap in the flooring in the kitchen/fridge area. Their supervisor said it couldn't be fixed, and the best he could do was put in more baseboard to cover it. What he actually did was just put in a random piece of wood on top of of the gap. Applying the Finish: At this point I was 2.5 weeks into what they had quoted as a 3-4 day job. The still had to apply a simple top coat finish to match the sheen I had on the existing flooring and fix up their paint job. Applying finish for a small bedroom is a quick 2 hour job. Their "pro" took the full day to do it, and the entire coat was filled with bubbles, hair, and other debris the next day. He blamed it on the heater having turned on, and then spent 1-3 days sanding down the bubbles and then reapplying the coat. Afterwards there were again bubbles, and the heater was never turned on. More complaints to Setter and they brought in and their supervisor took over. He spent more than a week sanding the topcoat bubbles for a ~125 sq ft room. He also suggested applying wax as a coat instead of reapplying the finish. I told him to do what he thought would match with the original flooring. He went the wax which doesn't match the existing flooring at all. In the kitchen, where the replaced wood was much smaller I asked them to try using the same finish again after the sanding process. But the sanding wasn't polished out, leaving obvious swirls underneath the new finish. And the finish was applied with a brush leaving obvious brush marks in the finish Baseboards & Repaint: After replacing the floor and applying the finish, they had to reattach and re-caulk/repaint the baseboards and touch up their earlier paint job. The baseboards, weren't lined up evenly and the caulking/paint joins looked like a first grader coloring outside the lines. Throughout the room there were little dents and holes, and any part of the job the required attention to detail demonstrated a shocking lack of it Final Insults: After all this and even acknowledging the remaining issues in the paint and gaps in the flooring. Their "pro" asked me to sign a statement saying I was satisfied with their work. A few weeks later their billing kept trying to contact me to bill me for the "extra" work they had done, telling me that I was delinquent. Whatever bill they were talking about was never delivered to me in app, in text message or email. The followup work was supposed to be guaranteed to be free to fix their earlier mistakes. If anything Setter should be paying me for time and money lost. Not only did Setter force me to pay for their poor work, but I will have to find an actual flooring expert to redo all of their work. And, I haven't been able to rent out the room in the last few months because all of the work is unfinished because of COVID-19.
