Kristie did nice job on design and plant selection around my pool and installation of 11 spruce trees later for Pool Screening. Of 50 plants or more maybe 1 has failed. Probably spent 20 k with Allied but my recent request for some water management has gone unanswered. Can't get return call or follow up so had to go with another company. I won't waste my time again. I've noticed this over the last 30 years around Will County Area where businesses just don't follow through as they do in DuPage and Lake counties. No appreciation for past customers is very short sighted. read more

First time coming here, wanted to completely overhaul my existing lawn fixtures with new perennials. This was my second stop since my initial stop didn't exactly have what I wanted. Staff here was absolutely helpful at making sure I was satisfied. Prices here are fair, the selection is really big as well. I even spent enough here to take home a beautiful jubilee as well. Contacted allied to do all new landscaping on the front and side of the house. We just had new siding and roof installed and wanted to make the front of the house pop with all new landscaping. Figuring allied was one of the best in the area we mistakenly contacted them about the landscaping. All we wanted was a simple design to accent the home and be low maintenance. Low maintenance being the key. We met at allied to discuss and were promised great quality plants and work. We were offered a design that we agreed to, since we are not landscaping architects we trusted the designer. When they installed the landscaping the designer never showed so the installers "followed the plan". It was underwhelming for the price we paid to say the least. We contacted allied and the designer finally made her first visit to the site. Initially agreeing that it needed changes. Five minutes later she said she would have her team add some plants and left. Being fed up with the process we agreed to the plan just to get it over with. About 2 weeks later we noticed vine like weeds poking through the 1/2 inch of mulch that was installed. I've never seen weeds like this, they climb up every plant and wrap around the stems. They are insanely fast growing and almost impossible to get out completely. Currently no much remains as it basically washed away after the first few rain storms. We have been battling the weeds ever since. I am just now getting done weeding the landscaping... again... 7th Saturday morning wasted trying to salvage our "low maintenance" landscaping. Thinking back to our initial meeting, no weed barrier was ever offered the choices were stone or mulch. We reiterated that we wanted low maintenance and we're promised that it would be even with the mulch option. These guys motto should be "over promise and under preform". I make sure to let everyone walking by while I pull weed after weed NOT to hire allied nursery for any install or design work. I make sure to also tell them the price we paid which shocks everyone. Overall it's just embarrassing. If you're looking for landscaping for you home, try Dukes or one of the many many ex allied staff members that have started their own services or just do it yourself. I'll promise you now it will be more cost effective. Let allied scam their big account holders as it seems that's all they care about. read more

Interesting how again Allied chooses to blame me for their tree dying after THEIR staff did not plant properly. Directions specifically state that when planting a tree the hole should be larger than the root ball (especially with our clay soil). And amended soil would be best. The first time we paid for delivery and install of our tree, staff did not follow planting guidelines. No surprise that the tree did not survive. Allied did replace the tree, after much run around. Yet staff again did not plant properly, and used the same hole (not recommended)! They did not give any notification they were coming, and did not allow us to pick the replacement. Motivation for my post? I went into Allied Nursery for the first time today get a gift for Mothers day tomorrow. Since it is raining the ladies asked me what I was looking for and at what price range. Since it is for my Mother, I told them price is not a problem. They then started on making my Mother a flower arrangement. It took about 5 to 10 minutes for them to gather everything up to make it. I believe my Mother is going to be pleased. When I went to pay that was a big surprise. It was just over $30.00 and some cents. The service was excellent. I highly recommend this place. read more

Last summer we called Allied about an area in our backyard that was mud all the time due to a beautiful huge tree that shades our decks. Kristi came over to see our problem and came up with a fabulous design. Between the hardscape and perennials we're absolutely thrilled with the results. I had an appointment to sit down with the landscape architect on staff. When I arrived, I was told "She's not here, she had to go out". I was then told "You can just leave it here". Why would I go through the trouble of making an appt. to drop something off?! I was so annoyed I drove a 1/2 hour for nothing. There was no apology, nothing. The designer is obviously under the impression that her time is more valuable than a customers. The customer service is seriously lacking at this company. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

The people really knew their staff walked us around the whole place picked out the best ones super helpful super nice this is been the third time we've been there in the last two years nothing but great service and expert knowledge. Okay so here's the situation my wife is kind of tongue tight when it comes to typing things on the computer and so she asked me to do this for her and so this isn't me but this is her okay. My wife went to Allied nursery and she was looking, well no she shops she looks for stuff, she buys plants and all those things that go with it . I don't have anything to really do with that. I like trees myself, but I haven't been there yet. So she went there and she bought some plants she's never been good at planting things but, she keeps trying. So this time and she had never been to Allied before, she stopped and went in. She started asking questions and she stumbled onto this lady this redhead lady named Lyn, she caught that because she thought it was it was funny that her name was spelled with only one n. Well however she spells her name is great with me. The thing that is important is she knows her plants! I had always told my wife, that if she wanted to be able to grow things properly, she needed to find somebody that knew something about it. Whenever she would go to the various department stores (we all know what they are) they have a a temporary outside lawn and garden thing that they stick plants in and they sell them and it has less to do with helping a public and more to do with making money. It would seem however, that Allied is not that way, Allied nurseries and this redhead named Lyn were exactly what my wife needed. It would seem that this representative of Allied Nursery knows what she's talking about, when it comes to plants. She pointed out things that made sense but, we never really thought about. The main thing is that some plants like full sun some plants like partial sun and some plants prefer the shade. Well that makes sense, people are like that too. My wife purchased plants I don't know if they're herbs or annuals or what they are, I don't pay attention that part. I'm into trees myself, but she came home she planted things the way that this redhead told her to do it. And I'm telling you there's a difference! A big difference every time she tried to plant things before, it was like she had a black thumb. It's not the way it is anymore! After having met this lady, Lyn at Allied Nursery and talking to other people at Allied Nursery my wife, has a whole new outlook on plants, and they're not just growing, they're thriving, they're flourishing, they're all over the place they're (Happy plants!) So I guess I have to say, Thank you Allied and thank you Lyn! Allied Nursery is the home of (Happy plants,) and the other thing that my wife was saying was that everybody was so nice and so sweet to her! I don't like the department stores where mostly they think that you're in the way! Allied didn't treat her that way, you're very sensitive people. I contacted Allied Nursery for a landscaping makeover. I had Kristi come out for an on-site consultation. She was very thoughtful with her own ideas and receiving to any ideas I had. We walked around the property and she took photos. We discussed what could be done in certain areas. Kristi got back to me within the week with the plans drawn up. The plans were great and we scheduled a date a few weeks out. I had a lot of work that needed to be done. The front, back, and side yards were all getting redone. Allied had the entire job done in one day. Shrubs, trees, rocks, and cement blocks were hauled away. Sod, mulch, and new shrubs and trees were planted. Everything looked great. Then I decided to get a pool and messed up everything. Kristi and the team at Allied Nursery were there for my needs. I called Kristi and she came out. Allied Nursery fixed and leveled the yard as well as added a border around the pool. I then decided to update the backyard again with a different fence and in doing so, some of the existing landscaping no longer made sense. Now I wanted to put in a putting green on the side yard. I called Kristi once again and she came out. She and the Allied Nursery team made everything come together. Thanks to Kristi and Allied Nursery, my landscaping is the best in the subdivision. I have received many compliments from my neighbors. I would recommend Allied Nursery to anybody for their landscaping needs. read more

We have not been disappointed with Allied. We have had three houses and in each house, we redid the landscaping and went to Allied for all our plant needs.
