He said I didn't need a biopsy of the salivary gland as the treatment would be the same whether or not I had the disease. He offered me medication for dry mouth but said it would not help my eyes. When I tried to explain the many other subtle symptoms that accompany Sjogren's and told him that my cornea surgeon said he had only seen cases like mine in Sjogren's patients he dismissed the comment. He truly seemed disinterested. Maybe he knew Medicare discounts his fee considerably and thus was just not into delving any deeper into my case. Lab work that I had done prior to the visit was forwarded to him and yet he seemed unable to access it on his laptop. He wanted me to come back next year to "monitor" the situation. NO WAY! Patient care has gone to the wayside. We're an account-not a patient-not a suffering human being. God help us all!

Fixed it... No more pain! The 2nd procedure was again, arthroscopic surgery on my right knee also for a torn meniscus. This time the surgery was performed at the NASC (Nashua Ambulatory Surgical Center) right next to the NH Orthopaedic Center on Riverside St. Nashua.. What a tremendous facility and crew! I was very impressed. Kudos to the prep nurse Cindy, the anesthesiologist, Bill Kelly and nurse Celine. In at 6:30am and out by 10am. All without the drama of the hospital. I was told to bring in all x ray and Dr's notes. I did supply them all. A month later I received a call saying they did not have the x rays of my knee prior to the surgery. I went through the trouble of getting them and again driving to the clinic to deliver them. I waited another two weeks and heard nothing. I called in and asked for the status at which time I was informed that they did in fact have the x rays of my knee prior to the surgery they requested. So, getting and delivering them again was a waste of my time. I was told that they would look into the status and call me back shortly. Never got that call so I called the next day. After 10 minutes on hold, i was told they had everything they needed and could now make an appointment, which they did. Five minutes later, I got a call from them and was told that Dr Dion was pushing back on the appointment, because he wanted me to go back to the original Dr and have labs and x rays done again. I couldn't believe he was requesting i do that. Thats what ii thought they would do as part of a 2nd opinion. So, a month and a half and i got nothing. When i said i would come into pick up my x ray disc's and all the paperwork I provided, she asked what records? Really how can a medical facility act like this. I just now received a call from Concord Orthopedics regarding my records and CD's. They told me I could pick up my records, but they destroyed the 3 CD's with all the x-rays. When I asked why , I was told they auto destroyed when uploaded. When I questioned that as I told her I did upload one of the discs to my own laptop and the disc was still good, she changed the story and said that after they are uploaded, they destroy them per the law, unless I tell them not to. I DID TELL THEM I WANTED THEM BACK!!!, when I dropped them off and I was told that I would receive them when I came in for my appointment. I also know there is no such law as I had another Dr. look at the same x rays and I got them back with no issue. There are too many good Dr's and Clinics that can be used rather than use this outfit.

When I called to follow up and make an appointment, I spoke to Donna, who lied and told me "we haven't received the referral yet - we'll call you when we receive it." I know that was a lie because my PCP is very thorough and faxed the referral last Thursday - with transmission confirmation. I had them re-fax the referral on Friday after calling to set up the appointment. I waited until Monday late afternoon before calling again. Once again I was told by Donna, that "we haven't received the referral yet." When I pressed more and indicated that my PCP had confirmed that the faxes each transmitted successfully, I was put on hold. When Donna came back, she said "both the orthopedist and neurologist have reviewed your referral, and there is nothing we can do to help you. We've released the referral back to your PCP." Really? Without seeing me for a proper evaluation, you know that there's nothing you can do? I've been in chronic pain for the better part of a year, to the point where I can't sit comfortably, and there's nothing you can do? I find this not only unprofessional, but I've never heard of it happening. Sounds like they just don't want to see any new patients. My advice - go somewhere else that takes you and your pain seriously.

They prepared me for surgery both physically and mentally. They explained to me what to expect as far as pain and strengthening and what I needed to do in order to get back to where I wanted to be after surgery.
