After waiting four days, I called again. I was told someone would call me back, and when they did, I was given information that directly contradicted what North Hollywood police had told me--that a police report would be sufficient. Instead, I was told I needed a separate police request. When I tried to explain the discrepancy and clarify my options, the representative cut me off and said, "Let me tell you where you have chosen not to listen," which immediately set the tone. He then claimed the cameras wouldn't be helpful due to their height and low resolution--again, the opposite of what Trader Joe's staff had told me, based on multiple recent incidents where license plates were successfully identified. As I continued asking reasonable questions, the conversation became increasingly hostile. I stated I would call back if needed, and he responded by saying I was not allowed to call again and that he would file harassment charges against me if I did, claiming it was because I had called "so many times." That is simply not true--my call log reflects that I called once, waited four days, and then called a second time. The lack of consistency, professionalism, and basic courtesy here is unacceptable. This was a straightforward request following a serious incident, and it was handled poorly from start to finish. I will say the property manager I spoke with separately was professional and helpful, but my experience with this security team was the opposite.

There ought to be some semblence of a grace period. To pressure people to leave mere minutes from the gym closing is simply bizarre. To say that there is an issue with the theft there makes no sense, because that can be monitored by a guard simply staying at the location. Furthermore, if the guard leaves the location and a burglery happens -there is no logistical reason that the guard getting people to leave the location after the gym closes will prevent anyone from coming back into the lot. The guard, if concerned should patrol during the gym hours and after the gym closes. But to try to force people to leave immediately just so they can check it off their list is not productive. Furthermore, after reading the reviews and getting a phone call from someone identifying themselves as Steve but who reverse look up is called Serge, was so ludicrous. Serge/Steve called me and basically wanted to angrily lecture me for putting in a complaint online. Would not give me the info for the property management company and told me that they have to forward my email to the gym. Harassing the customers at the gym to save you time on patrol is not good business practice.

Also, they wear the same colors as LA County deputies which is against BSIS (Bureau of Security Investigative Services; who they're "licensed" through) standards. They drive blacked out vehicles that mimic a government agency. Not approachable whatsoever. Fun fact: their dispatch center is in ANOTHER state. That's not ideal for a security company to be monitoring your home. None of these guys are personable either. Would definitely NOT recommend them. There are SO many other, well-established companies to invest your time and treasures in.

A big waste of money done by down town Santa Monica. When I looked up the program hours, I found out that they should be working from 8 am to 2 am on that day, which is nothing but a lie. The funny thing is that this program eats up over six million of down town Santa Monica Inc's budget which mainly comes from the naive business owners who were told that this program would promote their businesses. Throughout my walk in the down town area, I found that the streets are cleaned by regular maintenance people hired by the city while the security part is done by the police officers as usual, so I found no reason for this program to be there. Then, I asked myself why Down Town Santa Monica is wasting this huge amount of money on things that can be properly done by professional city workers. If they invest this huge amount of money on better staff, like marketing their destination, providing better and proper solutions for the homeless people, wouldn't that promote their down town better, and make it more welcoming and safe. I really feel sorry that we are wasting this huge amount of money on a useless program like that.
