I have used Allison for family photographs from the very beginning of my family over six years ago. She has done maternity, newborn, annual family photos, mini sessions and last year took on the massive undertaking of photos of my extended family (5 kids under 7 and 8 adults). She has the ability to incorporate the kids and give the adults a comfort even when they are uncomfortable being in front of the camera and worried about their wild kids' behavior. She has expert tricks to get candid looking photos. I am always beyond please with our pictures. She also is one of the only photographers that provides digital rights to the entire session and that for me is priceless! So many other photographers charge astronomical amounts and then still charge even more money for prints or access to digital rights. Allison is amazing! She took engagement and wedding photos for my husband and I and they are as good as it gets--we've received so many compliments about how beautiful they are. We can't say enough nice things about our experiences with Allison. I'm notorious for giving people crap about having cheesy, posed engagement/wedding photos... Oh, you're reading together on some random vintage couch that somehow got dragged into the middle of a field with a rustic barn behind it? Or why don't you get all of your bridesmaids to watch in adoration as you make out in front of the camera? No thank you. Keeping that in mind, we initially chose to talk with Allison based solely on her incredibly affordable price (without any weird fees, everything's incredibly straightforward), but were then pretty excited to meet her when we browsed her website and found NO CHEESY POSED PHOTOS. Allison really sealed the deal with her personality though. She was super organized yet has a calm, sweet demeanor, and has a great sense of humor. We felt comfortable with her immediately, and felt like she truly understood our vision for the wedding, not what she thought the vision should be. On the day-of, Allison was truly everything we could have hoped she would be. Our family members commented on how quick she was with photos, so everyone got to have a lot of party time instead of photo time. Even D wasn't too annoyed when she stole us away for sunset photos because he knew he could believe her when she said it wouldn't be long. Allison was our photographer in May 2012 at our wedding. She did a wonderful job. She is so personable and easy to work with. We had our engagement session in SF on a WINDY day and we all just laughed together to get some great photos. She is very responsive via phone or email. She is willing to talk through your timeline of the wedding day multiple times and she even arrived early on our wedding day. Allison is awesome! She was a joy to work with at a friend's wedding so we booked her for our engagement photos and wedding photos and we are so glad we did! Not only are her photos absolutely beautiful (we can't stop looking at them and our friends and family are absolutely gushing about them too) but she is so fun to work with. She scouted locations for our engagement photos and first-look photos for us ahead of time, sending us pictures of some of the scenery she thought would work well, and was happy to accommodate other location ideas we came up with too. She gives very good direction on what to do to get the best photos and is a truly talented light-seeker! If there is amazing light nearby that will make great photos, she will find it and capture you in it. She was also very flexible and accommodating with what we wanted. She will capture all the specific photos you want but will also make sure to get photos you never thought of; those actually have turned out to be the ones I like the best. We love her photography style which is what ultimately drew us to her. Her photos are beautiful but not overly produced or altered from what I can tell anyways. They look real, but the best photos of you ever taken. She also brought a second photographer to our wedding which I felt made her an outstanding value for the quality and amount of photos that were taken. Her second photographer was also super nice and great to work with. Allison posts preview photos soon after the wedding too to tide you over for the full set which is really fun! Allison took beautiful photos of our wedding at Piedmont Community Hall, and she was wonderful to work with both in advance of the wedding and on the day-of. My wife and I really appreciated how calm she was while keeping the photos moving and keeping the wedding party organized. She took every shot we had requested in advance, but we never felt rushed or handled at all. It was a pleasure to be around her! At one point, Allison stopped to fix something in my wife's dress, and before either of us knew anything was wrong, Allison had freed a wasp that had gotten caught inside the dress's layers. Handled any other way, that could have easily ended very differently. The photos Allison and her assistant took were fantastic. We're so happy with the results. We loved seeing some sneak peak photos that Allison posted on Facebook and Instagram the very next day after our wedding, and she delivered the full set about a week earlier than we expected them. I can't say enough good things about Allison! My wedding was on Saturday and I've already seen a bunch of the pictures she took and has posted on her blog. They are beautiful!
