(New Etha,nice) It is usually that much to Play and use equipment but not used paint. Talk about double dipping. Again I am sorry. I will not be back nor recommend to friends.

They have a few well kept soccer fields with a concession booth and bathrooms in the middle. There is also a hiking trail which is marked pretty well. I was surprised to see that they have a BMX track as well. We will have to check that out some day.

But, I specifically want to shout out Coach Matt for his swimming instruction. I'm an adult and learned to swim as a child. However, I had some negative experiences with water in later years and wanted to conquer that and learn how to swim laps. Matt has been an amazing teacher; very patient, kind, and explains things in a way that make sense to my brain. It's clear he has a lot of knowledge and his demeanor put me at ease--both to try conquering my apprehensions about swimming and also to ask any question I wanted. I often got to my lessons early and got to see Matt working with other students, both children and adults. It's clear others also appreciate working with him. One mother told me her daughter was afraid to put her head under water before Coach Matt, and we watched as her daughter now leapt into the deep end with a smile on her face! I was only in Augusta for a few months, but if I return, I will definitely be trying to get a few more lessons in with Matt.

One of the guard that look like a Ken barbie doll with his blonde hair was being real petty and a lil racist to me when he kept blowing the whistle at my 10 9 and 8 year old about running which 1 time was true I was there looking right at them but the other 6 7 times he was really being funny and petty because he seen me paying attention to him the whole time. And than he was feeling some type of way because my kids wanted their ball back from a boy who was being a ball hog and not sharing. I feel he had a issue with me n my kids because as I kept looking at him he was staring my daughter them down with a mean mug on his face. My experiences here has really been unsatisfied. I think I'm just going to go with the Family Y and get a membership there. Because the kroc center has been showing me unsatisfied actions and experiences since I became a member there. They need to do better. Also today water was a little okay but majority of the times I went there to swim the water had too much chlorine in it that my eyes were burning everytime water hit my face.

The lady that was working went above and beyond to accommodate us even though only one of us rented from them. She helped us get our 2 kayaks back(with the one rental) to the starting point. The route is about 6 miles. I definitely recommend this company if you want to go kayaking on the river

After paperwork, we were given life vests for the kids and brought to the edge of the river. We're then given tips on how to navigate, how long it'll take, good place to turn around if needed, and then we were helped into the water once on the kayak. I will admit I haven't kayaked ever, and only canoed when I was a preteen. It was safe to say your girl was rusty and completely inexperienced. Add a small child to your lap, and a mom was slightly terrified. We paddled along, albeit very slowly, and eventually we were close to the golf course. We also decided after we saw some people swimming on a bunch of little "sand bars" that it would make a great a pit stop too. My kids were happy to have some solid ground and the water felt really nice actually. We only went calf deep in the water, mostly the parts that were clear, but the people we saw were shoulder deep. I'm definitely not brave enough. In any case! We saw a bunch of turtles, tons of dragonflies, water bugs, a few birds (herons?), but no snakes or alligators/crocodiles thank goodness. We'd come back for sure! This place is definitely a hidden gem!

The facility here is pretty nice too, with basketball courts, bathrooms, water fountains and I believe they evens have some vending machines the last time I was there. Getting to the park is fairly easy too, as there are two entrances to two different parking lots. The park is close by the Columbia County Fairgrounds too.
