In addition to my deliveries, he's performed two other procedures for me, including my most recent laparoscopic hysterectomy. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my care! Not only do I trust him with my life and my children's lives, but I've referred countless friends and family to him--some of whom he literally saved when other doctors dismissed their concerns and sent them home. Thankfully this is not my normal OB. I was referred to Allsafe for a colposcopy and biopsy following an abnormal pap-smear. 1st- they've outsourced their nursing team to the Philippines, so there are no actual nurses in the office; just 1 CNA to do everything the RN on the screen can't do: take temperature and pulse etc. 2nd- the outsourcing doesn't bother me much as long as the ball isn't dropped, but this office COMPLETELY DROPPED THE BALL when they sent me home with ZERO aftercare instructions. It was only 2 days later after having intercourse with my husband that the profuse bleeding started, which ended up in an Urgent Care visit. How did I have a BIOPSY and then be sent home with ZERO AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS?!?!?! And how the hell am I supposed to know on my own that I was to avoid ANYTHING IN THE VAGINAL AREA for 2-4 weeks????? Terrible service. RISKY service. I could have ended up with an infection!!!!! I called their emergency nurse who consulted me to go to urgent care, and NO ONE HAS EVEN CALLED ME TO CHECK AND SEE HOW THE SUNDAY URGENT CARE VISIT WENT! Terrible. I went here to see Dr. Velasco and had a horrible experience. She seemed dismissive of me completely, was uninterested in discussing what symptoms I had and told me to wait for menopause to feel better. I requested any kind of testing or treatment such as a biopsy because I had been having chronic pain for more than two years and couldn't just wait for menopause to start on the off chance that would resolve it. She told me I needed to eat more fruits and veggies and lose weight. I got up and said we are done and walked out. Turns out I have had deep pelvic endometriosis all this time and it's now attaching to my colon, which could cause other major health challenges. Telling someone to lose weight without any actual medical treatment or care is a recipe for disaster and cause for malpractice liability. read more

This will be a "historical review" as Yelp wasn't around in 1986. I was seeing Dr. Taymour for fertility issues back in 1985. He's a wonderful, compassionate human being. After seeing him, and going through many tests, I conceived and delivered what I deem to be my "miracle baby." I had only one child but she was/is my everything. She will be 39 years old this year and has three babies of her own. I hope Dr. Taymour is retired with grand babies of his own. I think of him often. read more

Stay away from AllSafe Medical Group. Dr. Taymour was an amazing doctor until they pushed him out last week. When he sold the practice to AllSafe in 2024, the service went from personal to not. It went from excellent to horrible. I experienced several mistakes with my prescriptions after communications with AllSafe. They repeatedly called my prescriptions into a pharmacy (CVS) that I had never been to. This occurred after I explained where I had obtained my prescriptions for the past 2 years and where I requested them to be sent (Walgreens). They made multiple mistakes with my appointments, billing, and lab requests. The staff in the office and people who answer the phone are completely incompetent and don't care about you as a patient. I can't believe that they are working in the health care industry. Please stay away from the AllSafe Groups if you want what's best for your health. I'm thankful to have had Dr. Essam Taymour as my Ob/Gyn and wish him the best of luck with his future endeavors. I will not be returning to AllSafe Medical Group. read more

I would give 0 stars if I could for the current state of this business. Very seldom do I feel compelled to write a review, however after being exposed to the incompetent and nonexistent patient support by the "new" provider support staff, I felt it was my civic duty. It took over a day for staff to confirm my basic patient information from my last appointment scheduled (after escalating and following up on my side since I never heard back). I was informed they couldn't somehow find me in their system despite having been a patient for years... When I inquired about my previous appointments and records, I was told that I had to come in person and sign a release form in order to access my own medical records due to this transition. In 2025...I am stunned they are expecting people to take time off work to drive to and from an office to sign documents easily emailed via DocuSign. Dr. Taymour is a great doctor, and it is a shame I will not be able to see him as a provider anymore because of this poorly handled company transition. However, I truly cannot endure the incompetence and unprofessional nature of the new customer support staff in continuity. Should the business happen to read this, the "Scheduling Supervisor" ignored my requests and questions, gaslit me, and then hung up my last call to do avoid having to do her job and provide any type of support. This is incredibly frustrating, and I would expect that questions surrounding a new transition (when no information or direction was shared with prior patients), would be met with empathy. As evidenced by the influx of recent 1 star reviews, this lack of service is an unfortunate pattern. Do better, because you are driving patients away from a highly skilled doctor. This place is the absolute worst. My doctor left this practice and I am trying to get my prescription for thyroid medication . The system at all safe is that there is no system at all. All Safe ruined this practice. I had been a patient of Dr Taymour's since 1997. In 2024, unknown to me, he merged or sold to All Safe. I had trouble for a year getting prescriptions because AllSafe put in the wrong year for my last physical. They missed, or Dr Taymour wasn't informed, that a test showed another problem that should be investigated. I could not get through the phone maze to reach ANYONE to get help. It was like Dr Taymour was untouchable. AllSafe should be investigated. I scheduled an IUD a month in advance was told I had to coordinate it with the last day of my period I took two pills to vaginally the night before I left work as early as possible to make it on time for my appointment and unfortunately got there 3 min late since traffic pushed my ETA further back. I was told there is no grace period and so my appointment was cancelled. I genuinely couldn't follow through with rescheduling to put my body through a change in preparation for this appointment and cancel over 3 minutes. I'd rather find a new clinic than to be a patient where they justify treating their patients like this over "protocol". read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Taymour for the last thirty five years. He delivered three of my children and assisted in a failed pregnancy. He has always been professional, proficient in his craft, skilled in his profession. I have recommended many friends and family over the years. As of today, I am utterly disappointed in the level of service of the office staff. He has shifted to some sort of office support company who no longer considers patients as patients, now I feel like a number and a dollar sign. I am trying my best to stay a patient of his as there has been a rapport established over time and history. I am now unable to speak to the front office staff. I call and the system routes me to inevitably end up leaving a message. It is nearly worse than being on the Apple website and chatting with technical support. At least with Apple I walk away with an appointment or my issue is trouble shooted hence resolved. Sadly, I overheard a front office staff member speak poorly about the doctor. Unbeknownst to him, I speak the office staffs native language fluently as it is my first language as well. It was very unfortunate to hear the office person say what he said in reference to the well established and esteemed professional who employs him. The only reason I stay is for the doctor himself and his institutional knowledge and skills. I am not sure what to do at this point. Dr Taymour is an excellent obgyn. He saw me thru my hysterectomy experience from A to Z. I had a million questions thru the process and the doc was patient in answering all with no rush. We had several appointments to assess and confirm my issues (fibroids and endo), and review treatment options. Ultimately decided laparoscopic hysterectomy best for me and his bedside manner before and after surgery has been informative and comforting. Also I know everyone heals differently but I must say after going thru YouTube rabbit hole I was convinced I wouldn't be able to sit up on my own for days after surgery. Dr. Taymour and his staff are awesome. I live in Fullerton and was under the care of a gynecologist locally for my heavy periods caused by fibroids. I discovered Dr. Taymour's website because he offered the Sonata Treatment for fibroids, which I wanted to look into as a possible treatment. (My other gynecologists did not offer this procedure and I have been dealing with heavy periods for at least 4 years.) I wasn't a candidate for the procedure but he moved forward with options that weren't offered to me by my prior doctors. He also performed my hysterectomy and I am recovering well. Other doctors said a vaginal hysterectomy would not be possible for me but Dr. Taymour did it. He is experienced and was thorough and followed up with my care. Being from San Diego I already know I need to travel to Los Angeles in order to get a good doctor, dentist, or any other professional. Dr. Taymour is AWESOME - he is 100% worth the 100-mile drive. Dr. Taymour is extremely knowledgeable, skilled, and professional. During my surgical consult, he thoroughly explained the procedure for my diagnosis, and he also provided probabilities which eliminated unneccessary concern. My laproscopic Gyn surgery was a bit tricky, but Dr. Taymour's expertise allowed him to navigate through the added surgical complexity without a problem. Not only did he perform the procedure flawlessly, he even went the extra mile to use 2 prior incision points from a previous scar. Dr. Taymour is also current on a variety of other gynecological treatments, including Biote HRT, as well as PEMF therapy. The office staff has been great as well, especially Cindy who was able to schedule my surgery in only 2 weeks after she had another cancellation. If I need to reschedule an appointment a couple days later, the staff is always very accommodating. I highly recommend Dr. Taymour - he is an exceptional OB/GYN. read more

I would like to start off by saying Dr. Taymour did do a good job with my procedure. The recovery this time around was much less painful than the first time I had it done by another physician. However, his bedside manner is lacking. During the consultation visit before surgery he rushed out of the room while I was still asking questions and I didn't even get to ask everything I wanted. He was literally standing in the doorway on his way out as I was still talking; this should have been my first clue to find a different doctor but I figured I needed to have it done ASAP. I believe that visit lasted a total of 2-minutes. I also recall being very nervous before the procedure and he did little to make me feel at ease (I know he is not a therapist but some encouraging words would have been nice.) After the procedure, while in the recovery room he never cared to ask how I felt physically. He proceeded to inform me that another procedure will need to be done at a later date and tells me that my odds of conceiving were slim to none. After that, he then walked away and he yelled down the hall to another nurse or surgeon "I told her she would need "xyz" done," which felt like a violation of HIPPA Law as well as an invasion of privacy and to be honest, it was embarrassing as there were staff and another patient being prepped alongside me. I felt he could have told me all of this at my follow-up appointment. To top all of that off, during my follow-up appointment he provided me with some unsolicited advice about alcohol which had nothing to do with the reason for my visit/procedure. He kept trying to get me to schedule another appointment and I refused three times. Overall, I feel that he was more concerned about the amount of money he'd be receiving for surgery rather than how he made me feel. If he thinks he will be doing another surgery on me without a second opinion he is out of his mind! Definitely won't ever go back! read more

Being that I just moved from FL to LA for the second time , I'm here to stay so it was time to find a Kitty doctor. I had the same OBGYN for about decade so it wasn't easy for me to let any one in. I did some research on yelp found Dr. Taymour and all I can say is.. WOW!! I really believed people who make comments about his demeanor were either extremely sensitive or not friendly. In the 20 min I spoke to him not only did he answer all my questions, I learned about his family his daughter in NYC and his back-round and country of origin. I did a PAP and some blood work it was fast and efficient. In and out. I recommend him to any woman who wants a personable, knowledgeable, efficient OBGYN. Edited Review: Please be mindful of them billing you correctly. For example I went in for a wellness check up which is considered preventative and 100% covered. Not only did I receive a bill for the Wellness check up but also a bill to receive results, results that was readily available to me through LabCorp. Dr. Taymour delivered my first and only child in 1986 after I sought advice for infertility. He had taken over my physicians practice and I was so glad he did! Great surgeon! Seeing Dr. Jacobs for my annual, it was clearly known I had severe endometriosis along with a few other issues. That is when I met Dr Taymour. Straight forward kind of guy. I've had two surgeries with him and both have been very successful and my last one -wow recovery has been awesome. One thing I suggest for those who say he doesn't chat much- well he's a busy man so I suggest u do ur research and make a list of questions and or concerns you have. He will answer them but he can't read your mind. I've always been seen on time. His office staff is great and always very informative. Dr. Taymour did me the service of removing a couple of tumors from my ovaries last year. It was after my ER visit to Long Beach Memorial Medical Center with a rupture that I realized the importance of seeing an ob-gyn, rather than a PA, every year for my "women's health stuff." Making & changing appointments with his office is easy, and he's located in a somewhat-shady part of Long Beach just off Atlantic Ave (great proximity to LBMMC, which is probably why he did my surgery!). Park in the lot behind the office; if you park to the left you are in the CVS lot and apparently they will tow your car (so says the sign!). Although it's only been a year, I do feel more confident in the exams I'm getting, and that any weird growths or abnormalities will be caught sooner than they were before. I also like that he follows the newer guidance from the ACOG that recommends a 2-year schedule for paps, rather than every year, so long as your results are normal and your recent history is clear. Im updating my review as I have given birth and my pregnacy is over. I am still going to recommend Dr. Taymour. Here is the truth, if you are looking for a friend, do not go to him. If you are looking for chit chat, do not go to him. However, if you want a wonderful doctor who knows what he is doing efficiency, go quickly to Dr. Taymour. He knows his stuff and well. He will not chat with you, but he will answer straight questions. He can be late to appointments by a while, but every time he was, he had surgery or emergency at the hospital. He never canceled an appt. AS TO MY EXPERIECE WITH HIM: I had a hard time bc at first I wanted and expected a Dr who would talk a lot.... He is not one. He got down to the point if and when there was a problem. He doesn't joke or chit chat. My pregnancy was rough, and my labor was even rougher. But I'm glad I had Dr. Taymour. He was efficient when he knew I needed a csecection and assured me I would be fine, even when I freaked out. We had a great surgery and I was up and going a few hours Later (which isn't normal). He even came to visit and check on me and the baby in nicu twice. After a terrible experience with another OB/GYN doctor, I am so glad I found Dr. Taymour as my new doctor. When I met him, he made sure to ask me questions for information he needed to know, as well as answer all my questions in great detail. Dr. Taymour is the best! I have been a patient for 10+ years and should have written this review years ago because Dr. Taymour is a great OB/GYN and deserves the highest praise. About 8 weeks ago, Dr. Taymour performed my laparoscopic vaginal hysterectomy. Considering that my uterus was 5X the normal size (due to a fibroid), most doctors would either not have been able or not be willing to perform the surgery laproscopically because of the complexity. Most doctors would have made an abdominal incision, which would have resulted in more pain and a longer recovery time. Dr. Taymour not only has the knowledge and skills, but also the patience and utmost concern for the well being of his patients. And, what I especially love about him is that he is never judgmental and he has a great dry sense of humor (that I believe some others on Yelp who negatively mentioned his manner don't get and might be missing out on). I can talk about anything with Dr. Taymour (including non health related topics including travel and family) and he never makes me feel like I'm asking too many questions. I'm 45 and along with my uterus, I had my fallopian tubes removed for cancer prevention, but kept my ovaries. Prior to surgery I was extremely worried about gaining weight and going into menopause as a result of the hysterectomy. Dr. Taymour assured me that my ovaries would continue to function after my uterus was removed. 8 weeks later, I feel great and I'm down 7 lbs. from my pre-surgery weight! I should also add that years ago, Dr. Taymour was the one to discover that I have PCOS and he prescribed Metformin, which has changed my life! My previous doctor would just tell me that all the strange symptoms I was having including weight gain, high blood pressure, skin break-outs, etc. were the result of aging. Most doctors are not as thorough as Dr. Taymour and don't take the time to really listen to you. With his help and the Metformin, I was able to get all of my symptoms in check and lose over 25 lbs. I am extremely grateful to Dr. Taymour and his wonderful staff for continuing to always provide such amazing care! read more
