Office staff was nice but Dr LEFF was the absolute worst. Incredibly rude. She literally YELLED at me because I asked her for more information about a medication she was prescribing that I had never heard of. I wanted to understand what it was and that is my right as a patient. I was mortified when I left the office because she yelled at me so loud and I know everyone in the whole office heard. Needless to say I never went back. This woman should not be seeing patients anywhere. read more

This review is long overdue. I've had a medical condition that went undiagnosed for over 4 years, a spinal CSF leak. I came to Dr. Leff because I had finally had treatment to address it and was having other concerns for her field of practice I thought could be related to this issue. Going to countless doctor appointments over the years and looking for the correct help, I learned to turn off my emotions and attend appointments presentable, professional, and only focusing on the physical symptoms. I thought that doing so would increase my chances that the doctor would vouch for me and try to get to the bottom of it. I struggled so much physically and mentally because of this condition without knowing what was wrong with me. My doctors never acknowledged the emotional pain I must have been going through and I truly appreciated Dr. Leff starting this conversation with me. She said that my case is complicated but gave me hope that she would try different avenues to figure it out if that's what it took. She was empathetic and addressed how difficult and emotionally taxing this experience must have been for me. Thank you, Dr. Leff, for your humanistic approach and validating the challenging time that this was for me. After so many medical nightmare incidents this past year with my mom I was expecting the worst when I went in. The staff is lovely. The office is neat and clean (some medical offices are gross and dirty) and Dr. Leff is delightful. She listens and asks questions and doesn't b.s. She's very straightforward and I appreciate that her time is valuable. After meeting so many doctors who are not there for their patients, Dr Leff offers electronic communication and she provides a response in a surprisingly short period of time. I have been going to see Dr. Leff for a few years and the office is clean, they are always on time. The staff is great, which is the reason I started going here. The first phone call was friendly. I recently went to see Dr. Leff for my annual check up and she went above and beyond. I haven't had any gynecological problems but she always asks about my overall health and notes my health records from other doctor visits. I've been having some GI issues for well over a year now and she recognized that and recommended I go to see a doctor at UCI or UCLA and she went out of her way to find some names of doctor's her colleagues would recommend. In today's healthcare system it is difficult to find a doctor who will listen to you for whatever you are there for and even more rare to find someone who will help you find a doctor in a different specialty. Dr. Leff helped me get pregnant 30 years ago. I was in my late 30's at the time and she did not want to waste any more time. Dr. Leff started test and we found out what the problem was. I was pregant after around 4 months. In my mind she is smart and listens well. I have the utmost respect for her. read more

Dr. Leff was incredibly abrasive, admonished my primary care physician for sending me in for a biopsy after an abnormal pap/family history of cervical cancer, asked if my husband and I had an open relationship, and was underprepared for the biopsy procedure. The most appalling part to my experience was when she left the exam room door open as I was in stirrups with speculum inserted because she could not locate the correct biopsy tools. Dr Leff is Amazing, She listens and she's extremely knowledgeable, I just wish I had found her many years sooner

This doctor saved my life. I scheduled my first annual exam with her at 4pm on a Thursday. There was no wait and immediately I was able to do a pee test and walk into a room. Once I met Dr. Leff, I told her I had cramping on one side for 3-4 days. She told me that I was pregnant, however, based on my cramps she didn't want to ignore my symptoms because there was a chance that it could be an ectopic pregnancy (which is life threatening - no joke). Let me tell you, I have never seen a doctor move quicker than her. She quickly got me into the next room for an ultra sound, drew my blood and scheduled another (more detailed) ultrasound at another facility for me early the next day. The next day was Friday - her day off from work! I cherish my weekends and drag my feet when I have a day off, but NOT Dr. Leff! She called me after every test result came in and guided me the whole way. Unfortunately, it was an ectopic pregnancy. She could have easily sent me to ER, but instead she managed to get a surgery scheduled at 3pm that same Friday (less than 24 hours from when I first met her). She showed up on time for the surgery and everything went well. She has been very attentive since. Yes, I may have been lucky to be treated as quickly as I was, but Dr. Leff deserves no less than 5 stars. She and her staff are kind, caring, and pretty funny. She quickly responds to every email. Another thing that I like about her is that she doesn't sugar coat anything. She tells you how it is and thoroughly explains what's happening and why. And hey - she also speaks spanish! I speak english, but it was a bonus that she could fluently communicate to my mother in law about everything that was going on. In summary, these are very important qualities that hold a high value when choosing a doctor. Yeah, her office is super fancy and nice, but really a doctor that is willing to work this hard for her patients is priceless. Dr. Leff and her staff are KEEPERS! read more

Dr. Leff treats my girlfriend and she loves her! My girlfriend was recently in the hospital for a few days and Dr. Leff took such good care of her and came in to see her even during the weekend. She really cares! And you could really tell! We drive over 50 minutes to see her and she's worth it! But yes, she is really straight forward but hey we appreciate it because we feel like she doesn't waste our time. Totally recommend her and her office. My daughter went in for her first gynecological visit with Dr. Leff. I accompanied my daughter for moral support, but waited in waiting area. Dr. Leff shamed my daughter throughout the entire visit. As soon as my daughter walked out the room she began to cry. She stated that Dr. Left was rude and belittling the entire visit. Horrible, quack of a doctor. Honestly surprised that her reviews are so high and that I based part of my decision to go see her on them. Her bedside manner is terrible. She has a holier than thou, know it all attitude and could careless about your specific concerns, repeatedly being told that she "doesn't have enough time to explain." Her objective is to put you on some expensive pharmaceutical and worry about the side effects later, because "everyone is different." Dr. Monica Leff is a horrible, odd little excuse for a doctor, who might want to consider early retirement (judging from the twitching and tremors) and find something that she does have more time for. Frankly, I found her to be one of the rudest doctors I have ever met. She hates babies, so that should say enough. When you leave a doctor appointment, you should feel better than when you walked in. Dr Leff's bedside manner alone, sent me away feeling like a terrible human, and I never got examined or even a chance to really explain why I was there. I saw Dr. Monica Leff for a routine gynecological visit, she was curt, abrasive, and rude and made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I told her I was there to have her check out an abnormal bump on my vulva and I front-loaded her that I had a yeast infection but that I had already been treating it. She said, "Hurry up and show me it saves a lot more time than talking." After she examined me she said that she did not have time to discuss my medical history with me, that she had other patients to tend to that were more important. When she left the room she said, "I'm glad you don't have warts." Needless to say, I thought she was extremely indecent and she lied when she took the hypocratic oath. read more

Doctor Leff is an excellent Obstetrics & Gynecologist! I could not ask for a better one. Today I went in for my annual women's wellness exam and you can tell by just taking to her that she is a very smart woman and on point. She asks all the right questions and she takes the time to talk to her patient. I was in and out in less than 30 minute and painless. Seeing a new Ob/Gyn is always scary. You never know what to expect and everything that you do and talk about is so private and intimate that it can easily turn into the most uncomfortable situation in your day/week/month/year. I was skeptical seeing Dr. Leff and I see that there are reviews saying she was rude and abrasive. In a way, I can kind of see why a person would think that and I can only see that if I imagine myself being shy or highly sensitive. To me, Dr. Leff is a highly intelligent and professional doctor. She makes me feel so comfortable and times when I wasn't, she reassured me that things will be okay and talked me through procedures and what to expect. She does her best to keep your mind busy so you don't have feel awkward while she does her job down there. I also like that she is very straight forward and honest. She comes off as a very strong independent woman and maybe that is why some may view her negatively. I truly respect her and she has always welcomed any questions of mine and even lets me know that I can call her whenever if I need to so I do believe that she cares for her patients. Dr. Leff is the best OB/Gyn physician! She has been my physician for 24+ years and I would not go to anyone else for my care. I trust her with my life and I've had a few close calls over the course of my life and she has always taken great care of me and chose the best options for anything I had to face, and I've always been better because of her care. She is a physician of the highest caliber and in my opinion brilliant in her field, truly an expert. I appreciate her honest and straightforward approach. I have always felt with each visit I was her only patient, because she is caring, compassionate and made me feel as if I was the only patient she was treating. I have a chronic condition and even though it's not her area, she is so knowledgeable that she makes a point of knowing what is happening with my condition even though its not her specialty, and will coordinate care accordingly with my other physicians. Her attention to detail is amazing! She is a consummate professional as well, you can tell, just by the way her office is run. It's always a smooth process and the girls in the office are awesome, always professional, kind, considerate and compassionate despite being incredibly busy, they always take the time to add a personal touch to each visit.
