Recently, Farmers issued multiple checks for repairs in an uninsured motorist claim. They unexpectedly pulled one on the checks back from my account, without notice. Previous to this, I had gone to special lengths to call and request that everything be issued in one check. I was told Elizabeth was unable to take my call at that time- deferring me to other team members in the office. I was told she cannot speak with every customer and I would need to work with whoever called me back. When that call came, I spoke to her husband, Brad, who explained it is no longer possible to get a single check due to Farmer's policies. I accepted this response and did not press more. Fast-forward to October 4th, I discovered the discrepancy in my bank account from the retracted check and immediately text the office. I received no response. Update: After writing this review and sending an additional follow up request to the office, I did receive an update. Unfortunately I was initially given an incorrect answer on the issue and had to press to get more information. The representative was kind but also let me know I should be calling Farmers directly as this was not her job to sort out. I am still unsure why I have an agent in this setup.

I'm not blowing smoke about any of this, and I have better things to do, but I actually (want) to say this. I went with State Farm initially because their premium rates were better. Recently, my pickup truck was stolen - first time I've ever had a vehicle stolen from me. I did a Police report and contacted my insurance company right away, and did everything I know to do, but it was never found. (it could now be in another country for all I know). That's hard enough to deal with on its own, but I must say; from getting me a rental car, to declaring my truck a "total loss," determining the proper value & getting me paid the necessary funds to replace it, State Farm was absolutely amazing in all aspects, all the way around. I almost feel like I dealt with "friends" throughout this whole process. And at the end of it all, as my perceived reputation of most insurance companies go, I was expecting to be totally "low-balled" on the value of my stolen truck, but they pleasantly surprised me with an offer that was more than fair, and I did my homework! I actually felt good about it and appreciated the respectful and fair offer, which I accepted. And believe me, I'm not being paid to say any of this! The wonderful people at the 'Mike Gaines' branch (Nashville area) were above and beyond who they should be. I'm busy and I generally don't have the time to write a text like this, but I mean these things from the bottom of my heart, and I thank God for these people. I had a poor experience with this agent. I attempted to cancel my mom's Farmers car insurance after…read moreher death, but the corporate "policy" made it impossible. I had to file a complaint with Tennessee DOI and finally someone would help. Because of this delay caused by the corporate "policy" the agent refused to refund all the payments automatically drafted after the death of my mom. Issuing a partial refund, they actually restructured the coverage dates to create documentation to collect my dead mom's money. In this, I also learned they were still collecting insurance on my dad who died in 2022. They run the business like a subscription service and collect premiums without ever checking on their customer's needs. Look elsewhere if you want an insurance company who cares about customers over "policy" and an agent with integrity who will provide service to meet your needs and do what's right.
