Angie Lewis - State Farm Insurance Agent - Happy Birthday, Kelsey!

Angie Lewis - State Farm Insurance Agent

When deciding on which insurance provider I wanted to carry, I did my homework. In the 7 years…read moresince choosing State Farm I have not once had to worry or question the company in which I was entrusting with the protection of my assets, and this is largely in part due to Angie. I have found her to be not only extremely knowledgable and competent, but she has always been honest and forthright when discussing my coverages. I can certainly understand the frustrations of an increasing insurance bill in a reducing economy, especially when it happens without fault or incident that I have incited. However, I understand that insurance is designed as relief in times of absolute need and catastrophe, and given that State Farm has continually been at the top of companies who pay their claims in such times, I am willing to pay them so that I won't have to worry if and when my check is coming. My premiums reflect "assurance" as much as they do "insurance". Auto insurance can be a confusing thing because there are dozens of factors that go into play which determine rates. No accidents and no tickets are certainly two of them, but those alone will not keep my rates from increasing. But again, I find the value of the cost I'm paying in the higher likelihood that State Farm, more than any other company, will be there when I need them should I have to file a claim. I do not carry a State Farm Visa, but I imagine like any credit card company (whether tied in with an insurance company for rewards systems or not) they are not too keen on reducing interest rates simply because I've been a customer of theirs for a number of years. In regards to a company like Citizens, there is unfortunately nothing that State Farm or their agents can do to consolidate, alter, reduce, or alleviate thier costs. They are controlled by the state, and there is no wiggle room for discussion. So, regardless of which insurance company writes a Citizens policy, they will all be bound to the same laws and procedures. This is not a State Farm issue, it's a state of Florida issue. I've had my insurance with other companies in the past, and I can say wholeheartedly that I trust Angie Lewis to have my back, but I also know that even in times when there is nothing she can do and things just suck...that she cares. There isn't another agent, State Farm or otherwise, that I would want handling my insurance needs. And that alone is worth every bill I pay.

They wrote insurance for my vehicle with no P.I.P. insurance, which is illegal in the state of Florida, than canceled it wrote with a different company without my consent. I finally found a legitimate Co. to write my policy for a faction of the cost.

While initially pleasant to talk with, Ms. Diana L. Holder's incompetence and arrogance,…read moreunfortunately, has resulted in an ongoing headache now for three months, which has resulted in me investing hours in a plethora of phones calls and emails in an attempt to rectify her mistakes. Specifically, when she originated my Medicare supplement policy, she neglected to link my policy with an annuity (which she also originated). The annuity pays for claims when the deductible for the Medicare Supplement policy has not yet been met. As a result of her negligence, claims were not paid. When I inquired of her concerning the unpaid claims, she refused to take responsibility for what was clearly her mistake, nor did she offer to assist with the parent company in getting the problem fixed. She wrote a letter asking to have my policy linked with the annuity, which I signed and sent to the parent company. She told me that the unpaid claims would be reprocessed and included a request to do so in the letter. This never happened. I was told by the parent company that the agent should have known better - claims can only be paid going forward once the policy is linked to the annuity. Thus, she was negligent when originating my policy and annuity, and she was unaware of company policy. For some reason, claims are still not being paid - three months later. Ms. Holder, as my agent, did not take the time to follow-up to make sure that her mistake was corrected by the parent company. If you have taken the time to read this, then I would encourage you to take the time and find another agent. An honorable agent would have taken responsibility for their mistake, offered competent counsel, and followed through on behalf of their client to ensure that the problem was fixed.
