What they have to do is difficult with whatever number of claims came about from these storms. They have a formula to figure out what is fair for costs to fix many items in your home, your roof, etc I don't agree with it all, but I can see where they come from when every company out there is trying to inflate costs to fix things. One company tried to charge $12k to remediate water damage in our home over four days. The true value was around $4,500. It was knocked down properly. We did have to supplement our claim twice. It took a few months, but they were fair to us and gave us most of the money we needed for necessary repairs. One downside that I wish could be addressed by all insurance companies is to have lists of trusted companies to go to in a disaster. That would have been helpful when making our repairs., Roofing company was good. Indoor repairs were a crapshoot.

If they had said that before renewing, we would have said "no, thank you; goodbye", but their strategic timing meant to hurt customers make it almost impossible to not comply. I've experienced many hurricanes in the past, but none have necessitated evacuating my home due to food damage or other. Initially, we were in a very vulnerable state and ready to reach out for help. Unfortunately, people are ready to take advantage of people in this situation. RIA seemed like a reasonable company to deal with. I didn't dwell much on the contract which specified their fee of 10% of some amount to be determined. the initial payout from insurance was $30,000, so 10% seemed reasonable for the service provided by RIA. However, RIA provided little communication/advice after their initial involvement. I was resolved to communicate directly with my insurance company to answer questions and concerns. When a final payment was issued, RIA resumed communication and notified me that %10 of the total claim was due to them. There was no accountability of services provided, only an invoice. This was a significant grift, and a good example of being taken advantage of.

He cares only about selling insurance and that's it. Bad people change quickly when they do not like something, when something does not go according to their plan. He knew that I didn't speak English well and he wouldn't even let me say something, he was yelled into the phone like crazy. I just turned off my phone. Then his wife started calling me. I just wanted to cancel the insurance, I found cheapest insurance. He has no respect for me, I am older than him and he yelled at me. You need to figure out what kind of person he is. People turn into monsters when they don't like something. Just closed the insurance.
