USAA Auto Insurance took $500 off my 6-month premium!…read more I'm a 42-year USAA member, and I recently retired. My financial advisor suggested I call USAA and ask for any available discounts. He said "speak to a live agent!" Don't use the chat box with Ai, or any computer automation. So I spoke to a live agent, and she went through my policy looking for possible discounts. The big change was.....predicted annual mileage. If you stop working, you don't have a commute. Less miles driven = less chance of an accident. $500 discount? Yes, I'll take that.

RE: Claim Number: 0024332561…read more I am requesting MEDIATION because my roof replacement claim was denied by USAA on April 14, 2026. On February 21, 2026, I submitted a USAA Property Claim for roof replacement and stained ceiling tiles in garage and hallway from leaking roof. All requested documents were submitted to include pictures and receipts for removal of tree limb that fell on the roof on April 15, 2020, and pictures of water-stained ceiling, however, my claim was denied for roof replacement but approved for water-stained ceiling repair in garage and hallway, which was caused by a leaking roof. When I requested a reason why the roof replacement was denied, I was not given a CLEAR, CONCISE, or DIRECT answer other than the following, "yes there were several ridges," and nothing more. When I requested a copy of the "roof inspection report" from the USAA inspector, I was denied and told the following, "The report is considered proprietary information for USAA." I have faithfully been paying my premiums monthly for Auto & Property and has not missed a payment over the past 40 years, however, USAA has a problem honoring claims filed by veterans, especially 100% service-connected disable veterans. The roof is 15 years old and leaks, however, USAA does not want to honor the policy I have been paying for since purchasing the home in 2017. *VETERANS AND VETERAN FAMILIES BE WARE! USAA IS A CORRUPT COMPANY THAT MARKETS TO VETERANS, HOWEVER, THEIR ACTIONS HAVE PROVEN THAT THEY ARE DISHONEST, DECEIPTFUL, AND CORRUPT! THEY WANT YOUR BUSINESS AND MONEY BUT DOES NOT WANT TO PAY LEGITIMATE CLAIMS.* *PLEASE conduct your research before selecting USAA as your Auto or Property insurance company! They are not who the claim to be and DO NOT CARE ABOUT VETERANS as they profess! All they want is your business and your money, however, when you file a legitimate claim, they either deny you outright or avoid paying you what your claim is worth! There are many other companies that offer a better product for less money and will treat you the way you deserve to be treated as VETERANS!

She always has a really bad attitude and is appallingly rude, abrupt and disrespectful-- no class at all. She not only failed to enunciate (which Americans often fail to do compared to educated English speakers around the world) basic words, she got snarky and atrociously disrespectful, curt, abrasive and cold when I requested an insurance benefits verification; I heard her say "can" instead of "can't" do eligibility requests on the phone. That USAA has such poor quality control and low professional standards is truly shocking. I dread having to call USAA health insurance when I go to work. The standards in this country are getting worse with each passing decade.

Dear USAA, My name is Corporal Heather Souza-Rodriguez, and…read moreI am writing this letter on behalf of Laverne Rembert and myself regarding our homeowner's insurance claim. As a disabled veteran who has proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and Army, completing two tours of duty for this nation, I never imagined that I would have to fight for fairness from my own insurance provider. I reside at 31852 Middlebrook Lane in Menifee, California, along with Laverne Rembert, my son, Johnathon Rodriguez, my cousin, Alicia McCauley and our beloved bulldogs. It was devastating to receive USAA's denial of coverage for our claim, and I am reaching out to provide additional information that I hope will lead to a just resolution. Background of the Incident: In September of 2024, our home was significantly impacted by three devastating wildfires in the region: the Airport Fire, the Line Fire, and the Bridge Fire. Each of these fires burned tens of thousands of acres, destroyed homes, and significantly degraded air quality. Although our home was not directly consumed by flames, we were caught in the midst of these disasters, experiencing overwhelming levels of smoke and ash intrusion. Airport Fire: Starting on September 9, 2024, in Trabuco Canyon, Orange County, the Airport Fire rapidly expanded into Riverside County, aƯecting areas of Menifee. The fire scorched approximately 23,526 acres, destroyed 160 structures, and damaged 34 others. Evacuation orders were issued for communities in both Orange and Riverside counties. The blaze was fully contained by October 5, 2024. Line Fire: Ignited on September 5, 2024, near Highland in San Bernardino County, the Line Fire burned about 43,978 acres. While primarily aƯecting San Bernardino County, its proximity posed potential threats to neighboring regions, including parts of Riverside County. The fire was fully contained by December 23, 2024. Bridge Fire: Beginning on September 8, 2024, in the Angeles National Forest, the Bridge Fire aƯected both Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties, burning approximately 56,030 acres. The fire's extensive reach influenced air quality and resources in the broader Southern California area. Full containment was achieved by November 26, 2024. When I returned home in early September, I was met with a surreal and heartbreaking scene. Ash was visibly falling from the sky, covering my vehicle, the exterior of my home, and the surrounding streets. The air was so thick with smoke that it was hazardous to breathe, causing severe eye and throat irritation, nausea, dizziness, and headaches. Masks were an absolute necessity just to step outside. I have included a video that clearly shows the extent of the ash fall at our location. Upon entering my home, I was immediately struck by the pungent, overwhelming smell of smoke. Despite my best eƯorts to keep windows closed, smoke and ash infiltrated through ventilation, bathroom windows, the chimney and other unknown areas. Ash settled on surfaces throughout my home, contaminating carpets, furniture, and HVAC systems. This was not just a nuisance; it was a serious intrusion that left my family in a hazardous living environment. Claim Filing and USAA's Response: I promptly filed a claim for smoke and ash damage with USAA on September 8, 2024. I provided all requested information and documentation, expecting a timely and thorough inspection. However, USAA did not send an adjuster to assess my home immediately after the loss, despite my compliance with all policy requirements. I made my home fully available for an inspection and welcomed any evaluation to determine the extent of the damage. The first inspection conducted by USAA was on September 28, 2024, when HVACi was sent to assess the HVAC system. The results of their inspection showed significant impact from the smoke and ash, yet despite this, USAA denied my claim. Additionally, despite confirmation from USAA's vendor indicating that there was damage caused by the fires in the area, no payment was issued by USAA, and no inspection from an adjuster was scheduled. The findings from the HVACi report were as follows: Delay in Claims Handling: 9/9/2024 - Claim reported 9/12/2024 - Desk adjuster assigned - urged to close out claim without investigation 9/14/2024 -EMT HVAC was called out by insured and inspected and created a report 9/16/2024 - EMT-HVAC report uploaded to USAA along with photos to support damages 9/16/2024 - Photos uploaded to USAA of Soot and Ash in interior and exterior of home 9/17/2024-Cleaning/remediation Estimate submitted for review 9/27/2024-Second Cleaning/remediation Estimate submitted for review 9/27/2024 - USAA called to set up inspection with USAA vendor HVACi 9/28/2024 - HVACi inspected property (I accommodated a next day inspection) 9/30/2024 - HVACi report submitted to USAA - this report supported the findings as EMT- HVAC and damage to the property caused by smoke and ash. It should be noted that these damages were confirmed
