I got a refund for the unused premium but with a high penalty (10% of premium) for the moving. The AmFam company or the agent have never informed me for such a penalty. When I called the office about this, the representatives didn't even know the policy. They had to contact the headquarter to check it. The service this office/agent provides is terrible. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. In fact, many other companies do not charge such a moving fee and I will transfer all my policies with this office to others as soon as they are ready to renew. Just don't want to have any businesses with this agent. I will also file a complaint/case through other regulatory/legal avenues. By the way, it looks like I am not the only one who has problems with this agent. Just check out the reviews for this office/agent in the review sites. This agent is about the lowest it can get for the same type of businesses. Not sure why it is still in business.

I was told on the phone you are open until 6 PM two different times, as well as on Saturdays. You are closed for 4th of July weekend but today is Thursday July 1st and I do not understand why for the fourth time I have visited this location it is closed. I had an issue with a claim where my insurance estimate was cancelled by corporate as they were unable to find my vehicle at the inspection yard. The tow company did not release my auto to the inspection yard until after the inspection date. So... Car not found inspection cancelled. This was the state for 16 days. I was experiencing serious challenges dealing with GEICO and since the policy was due for renewal, decided to shop around. While on the phone with Ryan, I sounded him out on my GEICO situation. He patiently heard me out and was a useful sounding board with great advice. While there's always a business interest at stake, at no time in our conversation did it turn into a direct Farmers sales pitch - even though GEICO-bashing could easily have been a path of least resistance. So thank you, Ryan - your willingness to engage substantively with this client outside a direct sales context is what earns this review. In the end, I renewed my auto policy with GEICO. Why, you might ask. Firstly, they sorted out my claim - after jumping through several hoops. Secondly, I'm a price-sensitive shopper, and for an apples-to-apples policy on my specific scenario, GEICO delivered the better-priced premiums. The tradeoff is clear as day though. GEICO may save you money, but it's a pain dealing with them. If you prefer a more personalized relationship with your insurance agent; or you have more complicated needs whereby that human interface helps, you may find the higher Farmers premiums worthwhile. If so, I can say a great example of such a person-to-person team is the Gena Trust team.
