They also compare your previous year numbers and talk about where you can make improvements. I've had three preparers over the years. When you finish, you can schedule for the next year and keep the same person. I've used Julie Preske the last two years, after my first preparer retired. Julie is in the Fishers office on Allisonville, about 118th. She does a great job and is incredibly friendly. For the stress reduction, the price is totally reasonable. I believe they base it on the number of forms you file. They print a copy of what is submitted. Since it's stored electronically, if you ever lose them, they can reprint for you. Some offices are open only for the tax season, but there is always an office open; the farthest I've had to drive was Castleton. A total bargain!!!

But, our Realtor (Stacy Barry from Century 21) introduced us to her "go to" mortgage broker and from the beginning of our experience, we have had Warren Harling from Metlife on our side, which has been nothing short of amazing. When we met with him, we were not even sure we could afford to buy a home. We have been saving for years and we still had to sell our condo, pay down some debt, the normal issues most people in their late-20s have...but, once we met with Warren, he was reassuring, honest about an "attack plan" to meet our goals and advised us to get that condo sold! We finally sold the condo and were looking into the ever-popular building experience in Fishers....After lots of issues in that arena and talking with Warren some more, we went back to the drawing board and recently put in an accepted offer on a 1971 country style home in Carmel. We could NOT be more pleased with the amount of service we receive on a day-to-day basis from Warren. He is very responsive, never puts us off (even during the days we weren't buying a house yet), is extremely knowledgeable and does his best to decrease our stress as we await closing. He is always happy to answer our questions (even when we have already asked them once or ten times), is super friendly and excited for us. Most importantly, he is trustworthy. He keeps up with the always-changing market, has sustained his business and his integrity in this otherwise shady real estate adventure people are on now. Because of him, we are buying our dream home, know what we can afford and have had a fairly seamless path to getting there. Without him and our Realtor, I fear we would never have gotten what we wanted or would still be stuck in our 2 bedroom condo with a fastly growing toddler, three cats and a dog.
