Tawana Mensah - State Farm Insurance Agent

Through Mrs. Mensah's office, I have paid premiums religiously. My State Farm representative had a…read morepersonal conflict with the manger of a water mitigation company that attended to a frozen pipe issue in my home. State Farm claimed that this company "has a history of over charging and claiming to do things not done". To my untrained eye, they fixed the issue in my home. I called the company emergently when water was pouring through my ceiling. I first verified with SF that I didn't have to call an approved SF contractor. I learned later that SF refused to pay the full cost and left me owing the company some $16,000. Tawana's office consistently avoided my requests for assistance and only responded vaguely after persistent emailing. My last documented email request for support from Mrs. Mensah on 3/20/25 at 11:05 am has been unanswered to date. Previously, her office reps keep saying that they cannot assist me as "it's out of their hands...". Without a push, they weren't willing to assist me in defusing the war between their colleagues and the contract company manager. Mrs. Mensah's office suggested that I file a complaint against the water mitigation company but refused to assist in helping me assess what metric SF used to justify denying to pay and leaving me holding the bill for $16,000. If an insurance company the size of SF alleges that a company is being nefarious, then they should do all they can to support the customer in challenging said company. Accusing another company of wrongdoing, not paying the claim and then disappearing without final response or justification is so very unprofessional. This is not the behavior of a good neighbor. This office does a great job reminding you that you owe premiums and directing you to what policy to purchase. However, when it is time to deal with challenges in claims, they aren't willing to step up to assist you.

While I did not see a directory in this multi-level building, which is shared with other business, the AAA office is located on the first floor, immediately to left of the main building's entrance. I'll say the entire process of getting the permit took about 20 minutes (maybe even less), which was faster than I anticipated. Fortunately, you can take and purchase the passport pictures for the permit in the office. The permit and the set of passport pictures (two pics in a set) will run $20 and $14, respectively. The service was fine. One agent, the one who processed my paperwork, was really nice. The other agent, the one who greets customers, was moderately nice. He was not mean, but he was not super friendly, which is fine I guess. For instance, he started to get a copy of the IDP application. However, when I mentioned that I already completed and printed the online form, he seemed to be annoyed that I did not provide this information before going to the filing cabinet, which was less than two feet from his desk. *Note: he didn't ask or give me a chance to let him know that I already completed the application. Who knows, perhaps, he was having a rough day dealing with other disgruntled customers.
