    Nulty Insurance Agency

    Nulty Insurance Agency

    (1 review)

I owned an insurance agency for over 20 years, until just a few years ago I had to medically…read moreretire, and almost didn't make it. It was "relationships" the actual person(s), employees, business owners that was important in my office. I guess things are different for this agency's employee base or at least Bill Shearer. Every conversation we had, whether written, oral or using technology, Bill's point he was driving home was not getting me a better insurance company (the 1 he did quote had been recently downgraded to a bbb financial rating -not optimal and the company rep who tried to answer my question about the rating didn't even know they were downgraded),k but what he could get .....and in his last email to me, he basically said: sign the agent of record letter and I can help you - if not, good luck. I HAD SIGNED 2 AOR's one made by me, the other he sent me electroncally, I signed and sent it, "he never got it." I'll tell you more about that day later.... Now I started my conversation after filling out their online form for a quote, what had happened that made me retire, that I knew their agency has a good reputation for service and how I came to that conclusion - which was why I was calling, after 23 years of being with another agency, it was time to shop agencies. Let me be clear, I am kind of a needy client, but there are reasons for that and because I know the industry. I had a coverage question ( I have cognitive issues now, so sometimes it's mot easy for me to understand things or have to relearn things) he explained it to me and almost made me feel stupid, because I had to ask again later - partly because of a difference in information I recieved from another carrier. He basically said: hey I told you that already...ok let's set an appointment which we never met because of issues with me, but also because of circumstances out of my control. .so here goes. I had rescheduled one meeting and was getting ready to meet Bill, but I didn't like his focus on commission and I wanted to wait till I had both renewals in my hand. So I called Bill told him what I wanted - he still wanted to meet and "get that agent of Record signed?" Ugh! Got to have it by the end of today or we'll have to wait a year".Ugh! OK, I'll get going. I go out in the garage, my tire was flat. Now I have Parkinsons and a disabled vet (which BIll knew) and while having great dificulty getting the lugs off - all but one and it broke my wrench. I called Bill to let him know I was going to have to call for assistance, which didn't come till later. I recieved at least 3 emails and a telephone call, basically telling me I have to the end of TUESDAY - that day or he couldn't help me this year (likeI'd go back). After the crew changed the tire, I thought about it and well be forgiving Robin...so I signed it and sent his electronic form/signature back to him. Left him an email telling him this, then later I left a message saying that I wanted to wait, until I had both renewals and this is what I got back: "I'm sure you tried to send it Wednesday but it wasn't completed properly or it wasn't submitted properly as I never received it nor is it completed when I go back into Formstack and check on it. I'm sorry this didn't work for you as I tried several different times and options to try and help you. Again, it's not that I CAN'T WAIT it's that these companies require at least 15 days to get an AOR changed over to a new agency and it's every company we have that require this. Today is the LAST day to get the AOR in as it would be exactly 15 days, so if you can complete it today, then great but if not, the company will not allow me to do an AOR for the auto as we won't have the 15 day window that they require." I" wish you the best as well and again I'm sorry if we can't complete this today as I tried all I could do to help you!" Issue 1: that's ok Bill I'm fine and the truck got fixed. Issue 2: Do you hear the Hey stupid?? Issue 3: You notice he says: "ITS NOT that I can't wait..." what I would have said was:' Hey, how'd it go after we hung up, you ok, truck ok? We can do this anyway you want, we can go with another company or go with the same company, I'll ask fora commission exception PARTICULARY because they have caused the problem by not getting your renewal out timely. Dana Nulty used to run a tight ship; I worked for Nulty as a carrier rep, maybe Dana's no longer there. I am going to copy this to the Operations Manager Ms. Tatum Culhane. IF YOU WORK WITH THEM BEWARE what the rep's focus is, let the buyer beware. Please forgive the typo's its very hard for me to type
