We cancelled our Geiko auto insurance because part of what would keep our rates low was to bundle our insurance policies. After agreeing, we were told that we had to get a signature of the person who installed the HVAC system years ago of the home that we hadn't purchased. We needed his work id number and his signature! How ludicrous a request. We asked the sellers for this info and they gave us the company name. Needless to say we didn't get that discount. After being given our quote, I scheduled our auto insurance payment to be paid directly from our bank each month. Because State Farm input the incorrect address of our new home into their system, they had given us an incorrect quote so the cost was even higher. After about three months into our policy agreement, State Farm kicked us off of our Auto insurance not because we had any claims filed against us but because of THEIR error in quoting a price, we had come up short for a grand total of .... wait for it... $42!! Not wanting to be without coverage, we immediately paid the the $42 and adjusted our monthly payment by $14. I am currently looking to switch homeowners and auto because I haven't found them to be anything close to a good neighbor!!

I have been using Russ Siebert for a number of years along with most members of my family. Last week I couldn't find my car insurance card and called to ask for a copy to be sent to me. At that time I was informed that our entire insurance policy had lapsed: cars, home, RV, jewelry, umbrella. They informed me they left a message for us the night before, which was after the policies lapsed. I was shocked, it turns out our mortgage company had a computer glitch of some kind and the payment was stuck and never sent. When I asked how did we not know about this before it lapsed? Russ Siebert's employee Lisa informed us: "that they do not monitor billing, 'they did nothing wrong' and it isn't their responsibility." We had to pay $3800 on the spot to reinstate our insurance and then try and figure out what happened, again Russ Siebert in no way provided assistance or even an apology that this was happening. It was some of the worst customer service I have ever received and Lisa informed me she had been there 30 years. After making numerous phone calls on my end it turns out Secura who holds the insurance sent at least one letter a month ago to Russ Siebert's office letting them know the payment hadn't been received and that the insurance would lapse if they didn't receive payment. Again, Russ Siebert is not even acknowledging they could have been aware of this. While I understand the mortgage company is at fault as well, Russ Siebert was in the position to alert their customer. What if my house had burned down or one of my kids had gotten into a car accident? We had no idea we had no insurance coverage until WE called. They left one message the night before - they should have done everything in their power to make sure we got the message. They are completely negligent and I am already working to get family members out from underneath their services as well.

Mary Andrews has been my auto insurance broker for several years now. She was referred to me…read morethrough a good friend when I needed renter's insurance and she did such a great job (with good rates) that I switched from Progressive to AAA insurance just so I could have Mary as my broker. Mary goes above and beyond what a broker "has" to do. When your rates go up, she calls you. When your rates go down, she also calls to say "congrats!". She'll give you her cell number to call after-hours if you have questions. And once when I didn't get my updated insurance info in the mail, she made sure I had all of the necessary via email, just in case I needed it. The AAA rates are pretty reasonable, too. Back when I lived in Brentwood Forest, she even bundled my roommate's and my renter's insurance as well as our auto insurance so it was even cheaper. When I moved back to the City, Mary tried her best to get me a good rate, even if car insurance rates in the City of St. Louis are ungodly expensive. If you aren't sure who to get your auto or renter's insurance through and want to work with a local agent, definitely give Mary a call.
