I guess I can describe this person as mentally unstable and totally not fit to work in a social service environment. Sean is rude and threatening and yelling without any reason (no reason should popup such behavior) - feels like some madness. When I asked him for details of the policy he issued, he started yelling, and threatened me to "ruin my life" - This is a direct quote from our conversation... He also yelled at me and said that I had a "head injury" direct quote! This is not acceptable! It isn't good for the Allstate company's reputation to have people like Sean Howey to represent them to the community... I'd stay as far as possible from Sean Howey and his agency. read more

Unfortunately, the previous review is spot on. Mr. Howey has some serious anger management issues which are reflected not only in a total lack of customer service professionalism, but also in very questionable and ethical business practices. We had called (or rather, tried to call) Mr. Howey when we discovered our insurance premiums had increased substantially to the tune of 65% over a one year period, but all we got after three attempts was voice mail in which he didn't even identify himself. We decided right there to change insurance providers due to the lack of communication as we didn't expect to hear from Mr. Howey ever again and we wanted a provider that was willing to communicate instead of completely ignoring us. A few days later once Mr. Howey learned we were dumping him for a more capable agent, he feebly and desperately tried to save the account by offering up the pathetic excuse of inflation and the fact we lived in Texas for the outrageous price increases. He then suggested that we lie about our employment status by saying we were retired (when we weren't) to get a small discount on the premium. We told him he was too late and he should have communicated with us when we first reached out instead of ignoring our calls. It was at this point he launched into a full blown rageful email meltdown where he sandblasted the customer service of every competing insurance company that we might be moving to and saying we'd be crawling back to him within six months begging him to take us back as clients (seriously). He also threatened to immediately cancel our insurance policies leaving us without coverage! It was at this point we called Allstate to file a formal complaint against Mr. Howey for engaging in unethical business practices. We were informed by Allstate that Mr. Howey had no authority to unilaterally cancel our policies for basically having his feelings hurt simply because we wanted to move in another direction. We were also informed that he had no authority to lie about our employment status in order to receive more favorable premiums. Bottom line....avoid this agent at all costs! The reviews here pretty much speak for themselves. Mr. Howey is a loose cannon who cannot be trusted with insuring your valuable belongings. Frankly, I'd rather be insured by the neighborhood safecracker or B&E thug than this fool. read more

I am a recent widow and contacted my agent to advise of my change in status and information. My initial contact was fine until I received an updated contract stating my monthly payment increased by 40.57 for my car and a 500.00 increase to my homeowners policy. I called another company and they were shocked by the 930.00 six months quote for a car I drive less than 30 miles a day and also were able to reduce my homeowners by 500 and car to 760. Needless to say I switched over. I advised Mr. Howey of my cancelation and he went off on a email degrading me for previous claims that were due to the freeze we had and stating he was stuck with my initial reports. I'm disappointed that I overpaid for too long with this company and his lack of professionalism. I don't recommend dealing with this agent for any insurance needs. read more

As others pointed out, Sean Howey seems to have anger management issues. He threatened to sue me for slander if I left a review online. Basically, my auto insurance went up by $300 for no reason. I sent him an e-mail not to automatically renew to allow me to compare rates and he responded to my e-mail me that my insurance has been cancelled. I thought that was drastic but it turned out it wasn't cancelled but pending cancellation. I called his office a few weeks later to look into renewal options and the person I spoke to (Blaine) told me it may be too late to renew even though my insurance was still active. He told me he would get back to me but I never heard back. I called their office a week later but no one would pick up. I hide my caller ID and called back but someone would pick up and then hand up once they recognized my voice multiple times. I called all state to report the issue and they switched me to a different agent. I sent Sean Howey an e-mail to let him know that I am taking my business elsewhere and will share my experience with others and he went ballistic and threatened to sue me. Sean, if you can read this I am waiting for that law suit. read more
