My first visit was thorough and delightful--I was told the increased levels of hormones they prescribed and adding estrogen was going to protect my heart, brain and bones and help me lose some of my menopause weight. I came for my follow up and she did not have record in front of her that I had previously been on any hormones, so I had to start over explaining. She was short and did not follow up with the pelvic floor therapy she had told me she would find out about for me. Yellow flag. The kicker: this week, after being 6 years post-menopause, I started heavy dark brown bleeding. I had fallen the day before and was very worried this bleeding was related. I was scared and called, was transferred to the nurse's line--she never called me back. I ended up in Urgent Care who sent me to ER. After the stress and expense of that I was released--hours and many tests later they no idea what was going on. The next day I called and left another voicemail for the nurse, saying I wanted help, for somebody to tell me how to wean myself off these hormones. Never heard back. Later that day I started a "normal" period! I called yet again on Friday morning , this time to leave a voicemail message with the front desk that I wanted a medical professional to call me. I did not hear back. I have never in my life been treated this way by a medical facility, I cannot even believe it. There is absolutely no excuse.

My lips were overfilled, distorted, and asymmetrical. I ended up having to pay out of pocket to have the filler dissolved by another provider -- something that never should've been necessary and then reinjected - costing thousands. When I reached out to The Maloney Center, I wasn't rude or threatening. I simply asked for a refund. Dr. Maloney first offered me $800 -- a fraction of what I'd paid -- and then, when I refused, he offered to refund the full amount only if I signed a "Settlement and Release Agreement." That agreement was deeply concerning. It was not a simple refund. It was a gag order -- a contract designed to silence me from ever sharing what happened, even truthfully. It required me to release him from all liability, promise never to speak about my experience, and even agree not to post honest reviews. As someone who coaches trauma and narcissistic abuse recovery, I recognize this dynamic instantly: when a powerful person or institution makes a mistake, instead of accountability, they try to control the narrative. I've been to a few, and the experience is completely different. And that is what makes him so special. Your first session will be an hour session that will consist of your history, an assessment, and adjustment if needed. That is pretty typical. But the muscle test that he does to figure out what is wrong with it is very awesome to say the least. He explained the science behind it. We found out that I am not crazy for wanting to take a nap for a few hours. He was able to figure out some things about me that I've been trying to get the answers to, myself. He goes beyond the typical adjustments, he is like a detective. He finds the root cause of some of the stuff I've been dealing with, and we are currently fixing it before going to the next layer of problems. After thorough, skilled, and compassionate interview, along with lab work, Virginia felt confident that she could help solve the mystery of my atypical perimenopausal symptom. She put me on bioidentical hormone replacement and successfully confirmed that her professional hypothesis was correct! She literally saved my life. Treatment was immediately successful. Because perimenopause is predictably unpredictable, a flare up surfaced about a month later. Virginia was again able to use her astute clinical judgment to successfully and efficiently course correct. Prior to seeing Virginia, I discussed my symptoms with my longtime OB/GYN who did not have a suspicion that perimenopause was at play.
