It's a waxing bar and they have a beaver in the window shaving his face Hahahah they also have a painting of different shades gaffes to help you pick if you want a pattern. Loved that. Needed up booking a wax for before Mexico and they were so friendly and made me feel at easy. It was also faster and less painful than I thought it would be. I'll be back for sure. I have Robyn so if you want the same experience I'd suggest going there and asking for her. They also have a monthly membership for 35/month. I used to come here when Alaa the owner manage this branch. She was perfect and amazing. Now the service has gone down the drain. Lousy lousy very lousy service! I had a brazilian done and did not notice until I got home and took a shower that the wax lady Robyn left clumps and clumps of wax on me and did not even clean after she was done. It was very difficult to take off. Not only that she did a lousy job with waxing, she left me with patches of hair that I had to remove myself. Not worth the price and the supposedly quality that they are advertising. I am very disappointed and very upset with how bad the quality of service has become at this place. Disgrace! read more

If you want a quick decently priced wax, this is the place. However, this place falls short on attention to detail, as they don't tweeze any missing hairs afterwards. If I lived closer I would definitely get the monthly wax membership, it looks like a good deal! read more

I'm not sure why most of the reviews are praising 'painless' waxing experiences because mine hurt like hell. (Makes sense that most of the 5-stars reviewed are filtered). I've had Brazilian waxes for 5-years, and it usually doesn't hurt that much. Although, Alaa waxed pretty quickly (thank god) in a dark room, I thought she did a good job at that time. It was not till I got home, I saw that ALL of my pores down there were bleeding and red. It was painful to even touch that area, and it felt like pins and needles were poking me. I also noticed her waxing was not thorough - I obviously couldn't see the spots she missed in the dark room. Irregardless of the poor waxing job done (and the painful days thereafter), the service was very good. Alaa was very friendly, and reminded me to review her business on Yelp and Like them on Facebook. Unfortunately, I don't think I will be returning to Allure Body Bar. Note: The receptionist is a man, who will ask you how your Brazilian wax experience went. For those who will feel uncomfortable with this, I advise you go elsewhere. read more

I was blown away by getting a brazilian and a full leg wax in under 40 minutes. Although this spa is on the opposite end of town, is handy to know where else I can go if ever in need a wax! The prices are all reasonable and the skill is on point. Plus I love that they use tea tree oil to soothe/calm skin down post waxing. read more

First of all, congratulations to Allure Body Bar for winning NOW Magazine's Best Beauty Spa of 2014 award! I've been coming to Allure Body Bar for my waxing needs since 2012 but only recently started Yelping and writing reviews, so this one is long overdue. I originally came to Allure on a whim when my usual esthetician was out of the country on holiday and I desperately needed an emergency wax. I found their website through Google and booked an appointment online (and I still book all my appointments like this to this day; it's a super useful tool!) My very first Allure experience was with Alaa, and up until that point, only one other person had ever waxed me. I regularly get a full leg and brazilian wax, along with other services, and I'm naturally shy, so it was a big step for me to let a new person near those crucial (and private) areas with hot wax! I left Allure that day so happy with my experience, and regretting that I would have to contact my old esthetician to let her know I wouldn't be booking appointments with her anymore. I was recently living in Richmond Hill for four months and as a result, had to go elsewhere for my waxing needs. I tried many other establishments with high ratings on Yelp, but none of them came close to the waxing experience Allure had conditioned me to come to expect. I am SO glad to be back in Toronto, and this is one of the biggest reasons why! Allure Body Bar is located right near Pape Station, and I commute there by TTC every three weeks from Keele & Eglinton. To me, it is totally worth the trip. Since day one I've always felt welcomed and so well taken care of at Allure. Alaa and Frank are amazing business owners and wonderful people, and the team they have assembled is made up of hand-picked, quality professionals with a passion for depilation! Their business is all about super clean, comfortable, quick and efficient hair removal, without breaking the bank. Over the years, I've watched the business transform into the awesome, vibrant space it is today. Alaa has been my go-to listener through an entire two-year relationship, through the ups and downs. She has always been the one person I talked to about how things were going between my now-ex and I, and every time I'd show up for a wax, she'd pick up the conversation like we had just been talking three hours ago and not three weeks ago. She is simply amazing like that: truly listens and connects with you and will remember things about your conversations that you've already forgotten about! When Alaa waxes me, I don't even notice the pain, and time flies. (Literally! Ever heard of a Quickzilian? (;) I used to get Alaa to do all of my waxing, but now she does not wax as often and I typically see Luba or Christina for my waxes and they are also highly skilled and fantastic ladies. When Luba waxes me, I feel so relaxed I could take a nap right there. She has a very gentle touch and is great for full leg waxes; she leaves no hair un-yanked! Christina is newer to the business, but I love getting waxed by her! I love the way she does my eyebrows and her method of doing brazilians is so painless and fast. To my knowledge, there is a new waxologist on the team now. I believe her name is Autumn, but at the time that I am writing this review, I have not been waxed by her yet. I will certainly update in the future when I have. Allure Body Bar is their name, and waxing is their game. You grow it, they mow it. I can't say that I've been to more than one place for a Manzillian wax, but I've been very satisfied with both of the times I've now been to Allure! Autumn is excellent at what she does, and I couldn't believe how into it I was after the first time. I also got a back and shoulder wax which was excellent and lasted a long time as well. Had a Quickzilian done here last week. I'll start by saying that the customer service was amazing. I was greeted as soon as I arrived, offered water, and my appointment started on time. The wax was over in 8 mins. The waxer never double dipped and she was very professional. My only concern is that some hairs were missed. When she began my wax she did say that my hair was short and she may miss a few short ones. But when I got home and examined myself there were a couple of patches with long hairs missed. Unfortunately I left town the day after so I was unable to get it fixed. I would suggest giving yourself the once over prior to leaving, just to make sure nothing is missed. That being said the customer service was so great that I'm going to try it again in 6 weeks. I will definitely do a follow up review. read more

I found this body bar by chance on Twitter and since it's on the Bloor line, I felt it was perfect and easily accessible for me. I really had an amazing experience coming here, Alaa did an amazingly thorough job with my Brazilian (or should I say, 'quickzilian' since she was so speedy with it) and I had no problems with bleeding or anything like that. The whole process, which usually is a harrowing experience, was quick, relatively painless (it's a brazilian, what pain varies person to person), and all over amazing thanks to both Alaa and the rest of the staff. The ambiance was nice and I was offered water and an after-care guide for when I got home that really came in handy. I also learned that witch hazel was great post-wax? I had no idea and I've been waxing for about 10 years now. I even had an underarm wax and I was so happy with my overall experience. I'm for sure going to go back for many more Brazilians. read more

I am actually obsessed with Allure Body Bar. Christina is a great waxer! And I swear to you, the waxers get Brazilians done in 15 minutes or less. Ladies, if you are still getting waxed down there and it takes your waxer more than 30 minutes-you need to come here!!! The atmosphere is great. It's not sketchy, it smells good, and the artwork on the walls are fun to look at. I find that the prices are extremely well priced, without sacrificing the level of service. I found Allure Body Bar on the internet and set up an appointment this week to lighten my skin in few small areas on my body. My bill came to $266.67. This included a small tube of lightening cream plus a 5 MINUTES RUB on the areas I wanted. I felt cheated out after I left the so called spa, and wrote a review text when I got home. I received a phone call back in lieu of my complaint shortly after I filed it. In my mind I wanted SOME of my money back, not all, to make it fair for all sides involved and was even willing to hear some suggestions of how to solve this problems. A few hours later the person that was on the phone with me, sent me an EMAIL saying there will be NO REFUND!!! there was no explanation and she/they did not have the courtesy to speak with me directly. I sent them 2 emails since, but never heard from them since. I now have someone to represent me on this issue. My representative called the spa today, and yet again got no where. The lady at the front desk had told her that she was instructed not to give any information except this email address (marketing@allurebodybar) which in fact, is not an email address at all, and the owner is unknown hiding behind this email above . She then added that my representative is occupying the phone line and asked her to get off the phone. This review is for all people who are potential clients. Please Beware!! Something doesn't add up. My representative will conduct a full investigation into this matter. I will be more than happy to update customers from all walks of life about this situation. If you're thinking about a wax and are scared of the pain SUCK IT UP and come here. Ive never been excited to get waxes until i came here. Ive been to Allure about 4 times & no matter if I'm served by Christina or Autumn its always fast and not as bad as i seems - i swear. Allure is known for the Quickzilian which is a Brazilian under 15mins. I always come about 10 minutes early for my scheduled time and i am ALWAYS greeted and served right away- even if my appointment isn't until another 10 minutes. I appreciate that so much and it is definitely what makes them the best. The staff there is incredible and the decor of the wax bar is so cute. Not only that but the wax room is HUGE. The kind waxologist will leave the room and leave you alone to take it all off woohoo. After the quick wax, you are left alone to apply any of the beautifully smelling lotions on whatever part of your body looks as red as a tomato. AND in addition on wax a holic days, you are entitled to 15% off a wax!!!!!! Nothing better than that. read more

I was intrigued by Allure Body Bar after doing some research online. Their prices are great and I loved the fact that they were named best spa in 2014. Also, I read on their website that they didn't double dip, which was a bonus. I booked an appointment with Autumn and she's a very sweet and kind woman. We chatted quite a bit during my Brazilian wax and this helped me stay relaxed as this was only my second time getting a Brazilian. Autumn was very knowledgeable and explained every product to me before care and after. The reason why this rating is low is because immediately after the wax I felt quite a bit of stubble. The first time I ever got waxed I went to my neighbourhood nail salon and for all the flack that nail salons get for waxing, they did an IMPECCABLE job. It was smooth for a good 2-3 weeks in EVERY area. I was expecting this with Allure Body Bar given the good reviews but it just wasn't the case and I'm disappointed. Autumn also missed quite a few spots of hair. As a customer missing spots is a big pet peeve of mine. I feel like I just shaved and its quite itchy all over which is very uncomfortable and I have to now wait till the hair gets longer to get another wax. Last thing I wasn't sure if she double dipped or not. I don't remember seeing a bunch of spatulas but I cannot confirm this 100% as I couldn't see clearly. I was really excited to go to Allure and I'm sad to say that I didn't have a great experience which sucks because I was going to recommend it to my sister and maybe sign up for their $35 monthly Brazilian plan for unlimited waxes but I am not happy. read more

I enjoyed the atmosphere and routine of Allure (cleansing prior, lotion after), but my waxer made me uncomfortable when she talked about how she thought it was "hilarious" when people cried and couldn't stop herself from laughing. Although I wasn't in much pain myself, it wasn't appealing to know that she enjoyed inflicting pain on others. I figured that it would be the best place to lose my virginity. I booked with Luba and have continued to do so! She made me super comfortable and was not awkward at all. I've been looking for a good place to have depilation services in the east end of Toronto and I decided to try Allure Body Bar. The space was clean and tastefully decorated, the staff were courteous and efficient, and the prices are reasonable. I had a Brazilian and one other service, which at the time seemed to have been thoroughly done. I left the salon happy, however a couple of days later it all began growing back, which means the hair was removed but not from the root. I'm disappointed because I had hoped Allure would suit my needs. Unfortunately it didn't, and so my quest continues. I won't be returning to Allure. read more

For a first time waxer I was really hoping for a great experience. It was not to be - I had a lady, don't know her name cause she never introduced herself - she prided herself in the fact that she could do this Brazilian within 8-15 mins and that she did but I still had hair on my bikini line. She did no clean up and I wasn't sure what to do but she left the room before I could even ask and was on to the next person. I got home and was sticky and noticed even more hair along the bikini line and blood spots - not sure if I should be bleeding at all but it is was it is I WILL NEVER EVER EVER go back to Allure - I did tell the lady at the front that there still was hair and she was trying to tell me about it being on my leg and they don't include that in a Brazilian wax - i explained to her that it wasn't the leg - she did offer for me to go back in an let the female who did it take a look but really, at that point I was so disappointed with the all round service that I just wanted to leave and that I did. I'll try another place the next time I have an urge to cause myself pain. read more

I'm happy to have made the trip from Mississauga to try out Allure Body Bar! The environment was clean, fun, and very professional. Loved how the waxologist walked me through the sanitation procedures and took great care to explain to me proper after-care. The service was quick enough to minimize pain but not rushed so as to detract from the quality of work. I won't say that it was painless lol; but they make sure to keep you distracted enough with conversation and efficiency. Having access to various kinds of lotions after the service was a nice touch and something that folks with skin that tends to be on the dry side would appreciate. I also loved that the lotions used were made from natural ingredients - which is very important if you're like me and have allergies/sensitivities to heavily synthetic fragrances. Will certainly return for another session in 6 weeks and I can recommend this place for folks who are new to this type of service. If you're new to waxing, you want someone who will take the time to talk to you about how to take care of the practitioner's hard work that they spent years perfecting and get the most out of what YOU paid for too. The only good thing about my appointment at Allure, with a woman named Katrina, was that it took the amount of time they said it would, possibly even less. Though, maybe this is why I was still left with hair...? Yeah, thank you for not properly waxing the area I paid you way too much to wax. I don't know if your main thing is doing brazzillions, or quickzillions, or whatever they're all called, but waxing someone's arms shouldn't be all that hard. I have been getting Brazilian waxing done for years. I went to Allure after work one day when I happened to be in that area of town. I thought that, as a wax-only establishment, they would have perfected the service. I was very wrong. The employee (I forget her name) was unprofessional. She was complaining to me about how she had to work from 12 to 8 pm instead of her usual 12 to 5 because her colleague was missing work to get a mammogram result (seriously). Perhaps she took her anger out on me because this waxing experience was by-far the most painful I have ever experienced. And I have had a lot of Brazilian waxed done over the years. If this was my first one, I would NEVER get another one EVER. Fortunately I know better and will just never go back to Allure for any service. read more

First and foremost I'd like to preface that my review is not based on service. In truth, the service I received historically was 3.5/5. The service was not as thorough as it should be, with missed patches and broken hairs, but the staff made up for it by being very personable. The spa has a nice feel and is well maintained. My negative review stems from a conversation I had with the manager surrounding delinquent membership fees. I subscribed to their membership on October 27th, 2015 which entitles me to UNLIMITED Brazilian waxing, and 10% or 20% off of other services for $35 a month. I went back on November 9th, 2015 for a subsequent Brazilian (and other services) before my wedding. I was then charged $35+tax on November 27th, 2015, and again December 27th, 2015. I did not go in for those services. In early January, my credit card was compromised, and all pre-authorized debits needed to be updated. After undergoing the process to recover my credit card, I decided I no longer want preauthorized debits to go through. Allure sent me emails regarding the failed transactions, and I did not notify them thinking I could just go in and pick up where I left off. Of course, I should have been more proactive. Of course, I should have let them know of my situation. Bottom line is that I didn't. I called to schedule an appointment to go in, and notified them of the situation. Since they could not accept post-dated cheques, and needed pre-authorized payment, the receptionist said I could get a pre-paid card. This takes about 2 weeks, so I offered to provide it when I got it. She said that wouldn't be a problem. I asked what would happen to the nearly $80 I had been charged without service and she said they would disappear. I didn't accept that and asked to speak to the manager. Frank, the manager, took over from there. While I was not hearing the answers I wanted to from the receptionist, at least she was pleasant. Frank was the opposite of professional and courteous. First of all, he equated the membership to a gym membership and said "if you subscribe to a gym membership and don't go, would you ask for your money back?". This is an incorrect analogy. What Frank should have asked was "If you purchased a personal training package scheduled for x number of sessions and missed two sessions, would you ask for those sessions back?" To which the obvious response is YES. I'm not asking for money back, I'm asking for the money I've paid to be applied as a dollar amount to services. Frank's resolution was that since I had a service November 9th (which was included as part of my October payment) I could receive December's payment as a credit. Ultimately, since I used a service I was entitled to on November 9th, November 27th would pay for that. He claimed that I wanted $80 of service for $35. This was not the case. Do I accept responsibility for the lack of communication? Yes. However, in the interest of customer service and retention, do I believe Frank was fair? Absolutely not. I was prepared to fix the problem and remain loyal, but I did expect service for money paid. He felt that I was being cheap and asking for services I was not entitled to, and made sure I was well aware of how he felt. I, of course, will not be returning and hope they change their policies to be more catering for the client. This industry relies heavily on word of mouth and sadly I don't have a lot of good things to say about Allure. read more

It's alway painless, doesn't take long time and lasts for long. Also the atmosphere is very relaxing, music, light - everything makes you feel comfortable.
