I had never gotten a Brazilian wax before, nor sugaring of any kind. I was convinced to try it after reading and hearing the pros of sugaring. I stumbled upon Sugar Me Spa on Google and read some mixed reviews, but decided to give this place a try anyways. I booked my first Brazilian sugar appointment through their online booking service in April 2019 at the RH location. Jasmyne was my aesthetician, she made me feel comfortable and walked me through the process of my service. I left not knowing what the results should look and feel like, but now that I've gotten a bunch of Brazilian sugars done (with another business), I can confirm that my experience with Sugar Me Spa was not great. I still had a lot of hair that hadn't been "pulled" out by the sugar, but I thought that's how Brazilian waxes were as it was my first time receiving one. It looked like I had shaved quickly and didn't bother to go over a second time to get all the remaining hairs. It didn't bother me as I trusted the process and was planning to book with Sugar Me Spa again once time came. Their online booking was extremely inaccurate in regards to the times and/or dates available for services. I booked my second appointment, only to be texted that the establishment was closed during the time slot I had chosen and I had reschedule. I wasn't able to reschedule, so I cancelled it instead. I booked another appointment 1 month later (with Jasmyne as I already dealt with her my first time around), through the same online system. I received another text a week before my appointment stating Jasmyne was not working during the date and time I had chosen. I was offered different dates and times to reschedule, however, time was too tight to reschedule. I asked if another aesthetician could provide the service, to no avail. I rescheduled my appointment 1 month later (with Jasmyne) in August 2019, only to be texted that Jasmyne couldn't make it to work and was asked to reschedule again... Overall, over a span of 4 months, I went once with mediocre results. Their appointment booking service is extremely hectic and inconsistent. read more

Before moving to Canada I was always waxed. It's hard to find a place that gives a "painless" Brazilian. Jasmine took the upmost care in what she was doing and my service lasted at most 10 minutes. The results are amazing...much better than waxing. The place is very clean, bright and inviting. I highly recommend Sugar Me Spa. The only reasons I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is the inability to pay with card and that it took a bit to find as it is inside the natural health storefront while I was looking for signage for Sugar Me Spa. read more

This is one of the few places I found who offered sugaring. It was my first time seeing her and she greeted me with a big smile which made me exposing my private parts slightly less awkward and intimidating. Knowing it was my first time, she explained everything thoroughly before she started and afterwards she explained the aftercare. The whole experience was very quick and professional. She sanitized her hands before and after and wore gloves for the procedure which was nice because I've seen people not wear gloves and how many private parts do they touch in a day? I was recommended by a friend to try Sugar Me Spa. She goes to the Newmarket location and we discovered there's one here in RH. Well, I've always been wanting to get a Brazilian but was too chicken to wax down there. Well, sugaring is it! It wasn't nearly as painful as I sas expecting and it was over quickly as well. Jasmyne seems so easy-going and pleasant, that any nerves I had were gone. I was given some privacy to get ready and the same at the end of it. Was given instructions to use the spray before getting dressed and how to take care of the skin in between treatments, which they say is 4-6 weeks, but Jasmyne recommended 5 as that's what most people go for. I also love that clients are given the option to book online. It's so easy and quick. Prices are listed on the wall so one can see clearly how much each service is. I'm definitely coming back and would highly recommend Sugar Me Spa for those who are looking for an alternative to waxing. It's a bit more expensive, but I think it's well worth it! read more

I HIGHLY recommend checking this place out (Ladies especially, the brazilians are awesome)! I've moved to Toronto, but still drive up to Richmond Hill to see her. First, Shamiza uses the sugaring technique, which is way better if you have any sensitivities. It only adheres to the hair, so unlike wax, it is a lot less painful. Sugaring also lasts a lot longer because there is less breakage! She is very picky with the products she uses and this particular "sugar" has only 3 ingredients and is all natural! Second, it is located in a strip mall on Bayview and Yonge, lots of parking. All her certificates are hanging on the wall for your peace of mind (and there are quite a few). I've only had the Brazilian twice but we've talked about skincare, etc both times and she is very knowledgeable. Third is the prices! VERY reasonable, honestly she could charge more and I wouldn't complain. But she doesn't want to overcharge. And lastly, she is a very friendly woman. She's warm and makes you feel right at home! Shamiza also doesn't overbook so all her attention is on you, AND she's not pushy about prebooking or products. Whew! I think I got all my points in there... Nothing negative to say! read more

AMAAAZING!!! Just like you, last summer I was reading up all the Yelp reviews I could find. My skin allergies got so bad I had to give up waxing - after 10yrs +, not easy. I am so happy I took a chance and walked into her doors. Shamiza is super friendly, and genuinely wants to help you - she won't rest till she sees a smile on her client's face. Price - VERY reasonable! I am proud to say my skin is not only doing much better but I have ZERO irritation afterwards - after just a few sessions!! Bonus - my hair growth is substantially less and lighter!! The change is noticeable right away and only gets better with each session. If you are interested in sugaring you have been convinced or can personally attest to the advantages, what's left is to decide on a salon and technician. Along with affordable prices & exemplary warm service, Shamiza does the sugaring process with great skill and precision. A lesser trained technician might have you wondering if sugaring is in fact less painful than waxing because if done inexpertly it can be extremely painful and uncomfortable. But Shamiza is a sugaring veteran and has been doing this for years, Her expert technique is immediately evident because even a Brazilian was only mildly painful. She is an excellent technician, customer service/interaction is warm and genuine and her office is clean, has a pleasing aesthetic design and maintains a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. I have been coming to this establishment on and off for about a year and the sugaring is great and Shizma is very knowledgeable but customer service has declined and made me feel as a customer not very welcome. I asked to make an appointment for underarm sugaring and the response I got made me feel second priority to other appointments. The customer service I have gotten over the year has not been spectacular almost cold and compared to other customers subpar. In addition, response time has not been timely. I drive a ways and make time to go and even offered to work with her schedule but not feeling valued as a customer has made me find other places for my sugaring needs. read more

This is a great place. Came here for the first time today after searching for waxing places in Richmond Hill as I did not want to travel all the way downtown for a GOOD wax place. SO glad I found this place. Shamiza was super nice and made me feel very comfortable - she kept up a good conversation and was attentive to my needs. This is also my 1st time to try sugaring instead of regular waxing - the results were much better (not to mention it's an all natural process), and my skin felt a lot smoother after. She is also very knowledgable and recommended I try a body scrub before coming next time, as some of my pores/hair follicles were clogged so those tiny hairs weren't able to come out completely. Will definitely try it and come back. She was also very honest - she said she wasn't sure if my back was going to break out in a week, as everyone's body reacts differently - I assured her it should be fine, as I've done waxing before in the past and nothing happened - also sugaring is more gentle/natural than waxing anyway. And this is VERY affordable!! She gave us a discount for coming together for the first time. :) Some tips: - Sugar Me Spa is a (very clean!) room located inside the strip plaza/MAJOR MACKENZIE NATURAL HEALTH CENTER (large green sign) - I was driving around for awhile trying to find 'Sugar Me Spa' and was confused where to go - Go for a good body scrub before you come to sugar for great results, so it will be easier to pull the hairs out - Bring cash with you! - SMS (Text) is better to book appointments - She mentioned she doesn't do legs anymore (am planning to come here for back/brazilians anyway) - Avoid booking weekend lunch hours if possible - it was a nightmare trying to find parking in the tiny lot and even the side streets were packed! I've never written a review on this before but after my experience here i must! Shamiza is such a sweetheart, it was my first time trying sugar waxing and i was pretty nervous (despite the fact that I've been getting brazilians done for about a year with normal waxing). i was late, and luckily she was totally understanding about it. She gives each of her appointments an hour, even though it doesn't take that long and you'll be done way before then but it was really comforting knowing i wasn't being rushed and that we could go at whatever pace i wanted. i read tons of things about sugar waxing hurting less than regular waxing but i was still pretty skeptical.. it's still pulling hair out of the root on your hoohah. how does that NOT hurt?!? Anyways, i was pretty impressed with how little pain i actually felt when she started. a few spots were more uncomfortable than others but there wasn't one part that i can honestly say hurt. One thing i would suggest, is really try to relax... i was nervous and because of it i was sweating ALOT... because it's an all natural mixture, it doesn't do too well with moisture so she had to keep stopping and putting more powder on me to absorb it all... so it made the whole procedure longer than it had to be. Shamiza tries to make the whole process as pain free as she possibly can and will try everything she can to make you feel comfortable. As for the post sugaring - AMAZING. the whole reason i went this route is because i've heard ingrown hairs are less likely and i get ALOT when i wax - to the point where i don't like wearing bikini bottoms because i have ingrown hairs on my bikini line and it looks awful. Before i even left the spa, i could tell my skin was much more at ease than it is after waxing and i have NO ingrown hairs. Another huge bonus about sugaring is it's gentle enough that she can go over one spot more than once (unlike waxing) so you are able to get more hair off. Shamiza is super picky so i left with absolutely NO hairs left, usually when i left from a regular wax id have 2 or 3 stubborn long hairs still left there that were missed.. which was a total pain. One suggestion, BOOK EARLY! she seems to be super busy. and her prices are absolutely awesome. half the price of what i paid for regular waxing. read more

I'm sure this place is great ... if you can actually get through to them on the phone. It says nothing on their website about if you need an appointment or can walk in, but I don't live very close so I don't want to take the chance. A few months ago I tried several times during the day to call them, but the phone just rang and rang. I went somewhere else. Today I wanted to try again ... I called to try and make an appointment for tonight. I called around 10am and got voicemail. I left a message asking about an appointment, gave the times that I'm available, and my contact info to call me back. It's now 3:50pm and I haven't heard back. I tried calling again just now but the phone just rang and rang. Not sure how they expect to gain new customers. On to somewhere else! read more

I've been going to this place regularly for brazilian the last 6 months and I highly recommend it. I had conventional waxing done for many years and just stumbled across the website and decided to try a more natural option. Shamiza is very friendly and always makes me feel comfortable. Communication is easier by SMS because she works by herself and may not always be available to pick up the phone. I noticed that there is less ingrown hair after body sugaring. The hair has also been growing slower so I don't need to go for a wax as often as before. The price is also less compared to going to a salon or spa. It was a little hard locating Sugar Me Spa as it is actually inside MacKenzie Health Center but once I entered the receptionist was quick to direct me to the room. The room is clean, well lit and welcoming (music and TV with looped video of beach sceneries). Shamiza was friendly and welcoming, and kept up a good conversation throughout the hour and fifty minute appointment. Sugar waxing is definitely less painful than traditional waxing, especially for the brazilian wax, and even though hair removal is usually uncomfortable, it was actually relaxing in this case and found myself wanting to doze off because there was hardly any discomfort. I was not aware that Sugar Me Spa only accepts cash payments but Shamiza was accommodating and also accepted email transfer in lieu of cash. Will definitely be returning as a loyal client from now on! If you want to try hair removal, I recommend Sugar Me Spa with no hesitations. read more

Amazingggg!! I went to her right before my punta Cana trip for a Brazilian first time with sugar wax. I have done waxing in the past but my original girl is all the way downtown now. So I really went in to try it out. She is fantastic!!! Shamiza is so gentle but her technique is amazing and the results are fantastic. So much better than waxing!
