I took a dress to Allyns to be cleaned. I brought it in on Monday November 2 and was told it would be ready on Friday November 6 - went to pick it up on Saturday November 7 to find out it hadn't even been started. I told them I needed it Monday. I picked it up on Monday November 9. The outside looked lovely but I needed to add some appliqués only to find that the lining was not pressed in the least bit. It was as wrinkled as it was when I brought it in. Needless to say that for $34.20 it wasn't worth it. Now I have to carefully iron the lining so as not to disturb the appliqués. Totally disguised with this cleaners. It is definitely not the quality work it used to be when the father ran the business. read more

I was contemplating making a switch from my present dry cleaner. I called Allyn's to ask the price of dry cleaning a dress shirt, as that is the bulk of my dry cleaning. The women who answered told me that they wash dress shirts and it costs $3.50 per shirt, when I asked about dry cleaning she told me it is $6.30. I pay $2.15 for dry cleaned shirts. How can this cleaners be that expensive? I am wondering if I got bad information. read more
