I found ALM through NextDoor actually! A few neighbors posted happy reviews for Aldo and his team. I send him a text on Tuesday and he said he would have John out to me on Thursday. I think my window was 12-2 and John came at 1. John was so friendly and easy going. I pointed out where the wasps were coming in and out and he said he would take care of it. He explained the process to me and what I should expect in the next 48 hours. He went back to his car to get suited up and sprayed under the siding and in/around any holes he identified. I hate doing this, but I have to call it like it is. ALM has great prices and quick service, but they may have just lost me. They just put in some termite stations for me. Granted, this was in a very rocky part of the yard. The termite stations were going all the way in flush to the ground. I asked the guys if they could try a little harder to get them in. They "tried" but said it's the best they can do. I called Al the owner and offered to send him pictures of what I thought was sloppy work. He just said he didn't need to see the pictures, the one guy had been working with him for over 30 years, and that he trusts that it was the best that they could do. In my opinion, you don't leave a job that looks sloppy. They didn't even attempt to replace the dirt around the stations. I spent 5-10 minutes with a little garden shovel digging out a couple rocks and got the stations in flush with the ground. See the before and after pictures. We had a mystery rodent in the wall problem. I called two large exterminating companies, one of whom I had used previously for a wasp problem and they wanted contracts signed and a monthly ongoing fee for service. They would send someone out in a "few days" to evaluate the problem. Yelp listed ALM as local and I contacted them. Al the owner was very reassuring, priced reasonably with no requirement for an ongoing contract of service and said he could have John out in about an hour. John showed up promptly as promised, was totally professional, answered my barrage of questions and took care of things. He was extremely through both inside and outside. Two weeks later James came to follow up and he was equally through and understanding. Problem solved quickly and effectively. Called at 8pm on a Friday and the owner had a long conversation with me about my issue. The company came over on Monday and sprayed the inside and outside of our house. A few weeks later, we were having another issue and the owner took time to discuss it with my husband over the phone. I requested a quote via yelp and within less than an hour I had a response from the owner, Al. He was very nice and came out the next day. During his visit he was super thorough and took his time explaining everything to my husband and I. We called him for a termite inspection on a house we bought. Now, my husband and I don't know anything about termites or any other pests and Al definitely could have exaggerated any findings just make a sale. Instead, he was super honest, told us we had no termite issues and explained in depth his findings, what to look for etc. Al was very knowledgeable. My neighbor called me that I had a huge wasp nest above the back door leading to the patio. I went into the backyard & saw this monster of a nest with wasps coming in & out. I could not believe that it went unnoticed by myself and my lawn guys. I was in a high panic mode. I went through the Yelp approved exterminators. I liked the reviews for ALM located in Northport. I was immediately helped by Al, the owner. He is a wonderful, calming person. He could not do enough for me as I was ill and would not be able to to be outside with his exterminator. Al told me no problem. His exterminator would come into the backyard and take care of the hive in approximately 3 hours. Same day service is almost unbelievable. I actually fell asleep and when I woke up I went into the backyard and this huge hive was no longer there. ALM exterminators take care of all unwelcome critters. Do not hestiate to give Al a call. I am positive that he can help you out. Also the cost of removal was most reasonable. Befor ALM, I used Top Gun which was also a great service. The owner is retired. I'm having a problem with carpenter ants in my living room, and found that I'm unable to address it with my limited homeowner skills. I decided to call in a professional, and looked on Yelp for an exterminator. Based upon the positive reviews for ALM Exterminating, I gave them a call. I spoke with Al, the owner. He took his time speaking with me about the issue, and even had me to text him some photos. I was impressed by his passion and concern for my issue, so hired him. His employee James arrived promptly, and covered his shoes and wore a mask upon entering my house. I found James to be both courteous and knowledgable. He was happy to engage me in discussing the root cause of the issue, as well as preventative measures. Having finished in the living room, he asked me if there were issues in any other rooms. I haven't had other issues yet this season, but have in previous seasons. So James treated those rooms, and even went on to treat the exterior perimeter of the house. He told me if any issues persist after 1 week to give them a call. At checkout, James ran my AmEx card with his phone, and provided information sheets on the chemicals he had applied. I called several exterminators in a panic since my daughter was getting bites in the bedroom of her off-campus housing. It was scary since bed bugs could be the culprit.
