The all you can eat breakfasts that premier inn offer are the best I have had. It is all within 5 minutes walk from spinningfields and Salford central train station and with road links very close by. 5 minutes walk to Deansgate and thus the shopping and other great features Manchester has to offer. The room had a reasonable size TV and free wifi is an essential these days. They have an arrangement with the NCP car park round the corner for discounted rates. The staff were very helpful, in the evening I needed directions to get to This and That (you can read my review here on Yelp) and the lady printed out a map for me to follow. The duty manager in the morning ensured a smooth checkout and served the aforementioned breakfast beautifully. The only thing I would improve is to empower the staff more like in the best hotels, when I arrived after a long drive from London there was a problem with my reservation so I was hanging around in the lobby for half an hour while this was sorted when all I wanted to do was freshen up. When this has happened to me previously receptionists have said just go up to the room and relax while we get this sorted.

Now until today I had no idea there were any notable destinations to frequent in these neck of woods. I was pleasantly proven wrong by Bredbury hall. Invited by a friend to attend a charity dinner with live entertainment, I found the offer hard to refuse. Especially since I had been informed that the food was fantastic. Upon arriving I immediately realized that this venue had the je ne sais quoi factor. It had an air of devere about it, a mark of quality if you like. The entrance was understated yet classy. With a 150 room hotel, an impressive nightclub (which I cannot wait to check out) and a restaurant this really is a destination venue. The club has an atmospheric tunnel linked to the hotel, which takes you into the 16th Century Barn which as you can imagine is very spacious. An extensive dance floor awaits for those keen to boogey all night. And for those not inclined to the boogey there are plenty of relaxed areas to chill-out with friends. I arrived at the restaurant to a wonderful ambience, a perfect balance of chitter chatter and soothing live piano concerto. With the pleasantries and conversations commencing, I glanced at the set menu, stomach rumbling. I waited intently, ready, weapons in hand, alert and ready to eliminate the food. Although this wasn't strictly the same menu as the restaurant's, it was cooked by the same team of chefs that set and cook for the normal menu. For example the Confit of Pheasant presented with Parma Ham and new Potato Salad, with Cranberry dressing, was replaced with a confit of goose, duck, pheasant and patridge sat on a sweet cider jelly with quince and rocket salad. The meat was juicy and delicious and wet the appetite perfectly for what was to come. The pan fried king scallops were delightfully served on artichoke base with asparagus and garnished well with Chorizo and crayfish. The main of pan fried Australian Beef fillet was succulent and garnished well again but this time with a root vegetable parcel, fondant potatoes and woodland mushrooms (not the kind you get high on). The sauce it was served with was Bordelaise which was ooh lala indeed. The only complaint I had was I didn't quite manage to pluck up the courage to steal some of my neighbor's Fillet of Seabass. Which looked well cooked with capers, roasted peppers and rocket salad. It just sat there withering away with each of my neighbors mouthfuls saying "eat me " try me" "pleaseeeeee" Ah well you snooze you lose. The evening was concluded with a string of impressive balads by the second live performer, Simone who was both glamarous and extremely talented. At least I can say in the future I saw her perform when she wasn't famous!!! The trio of home made desserts sealed what will be my swift second coming to Bredbury Hall. The Chef's here are very talented and the management have done really well to raise the bar when it comes to the f&b at the restaurant. This was definitely evident tonight. The food was good!!! I will definitely be returning to try out the other options on the menu. Let the escapism fun begin when I also return to the night club on a saturday. Plan of action seems very clear. Book a room, check. Dine at the restaurant, check. Night club, check. After party in the suite, check mate!!

One obvious sign is that the ground floor windows are completely boarded off on the car park side. Looking in from the street side, you can see a large area which was once a restaurant or pub. While on the car park, I note that it is spacious and that there is a nice water feature. Well, it is nice to look at but more of this feature later. We walked up to reception and a young lady checked our reservations. While there, I can say that reception is not very large. No seating or tables but it does have both a drinks/snacks and a coffee machine which accepts credit cards and coins. The reception lady decided to show us up to our room as she need to activate the cards at our doors and they tend to be quite temperamental apparently. Up some flight of stairs we went (there is no lift). The higher we went the hotter it became. By the time we reach our floor I would dare to say we were close to sauna temperatures. We reached our room and after activating the cards we opened the door. While not as hot as the hall way, the rooms were still very hot. This would prove to be difficult when trying to get some sleep. The room is of a good size and the bed is comfortable. It was supposed to be a double bed but as with most double beds in the UK, this just means a slightly wider single bed. The room also has a cupboard, writing desk, a chair and a 40 inch television. The floors are carpeted but are clearly placed over some wooden flooring. Why clearly? With every steps you take, you can hear the floor boards groaning under our weight. This is not going to be nice for when trying to get some sleep. The bathroom does not have the groaning and is very nicely decorated plus looks very new. It has the toilet, basin and Shower which looks a bit tiny but let's reserve judgment until when I will use it in the morning. We went out for a drink in a pub nearby. There are a few pubs around but you will need a map to find them as none are on the main road. When coming back, it was time for trying to get to sleep. Up through the sauna we went to our room. The room was still hot, too hot to get to sleep. I do not normally like to sleep with the window open so decided to try it with a closed one first. After rolling around for an hour, huffing and puffing, I decided to open the window anyway. I walked over to it on the moaning floor boards which no doubt must have woken up the people below (sorry for that). The room was in the attic so only has a small attic window which nevertheless could be completely opened. Back in my bed one change was apparent immediately and it was not the temperature. The nice water feature was right in front of my window and was not switched off at night. So in addition to the heat, I now also had noise of water falling to cope with. I eventually fell asleep but was interrupted a few times by moaning floor boards of my neighbours and one or two slamming doors. In the morning it was time to try the shower. We are only provided with these pesky little shampoo bags (TIP: open them before you get your hands wet) and a bar of soap. Stepping into the shower, I can confirm it is tiny, barely large enough to fit me in. The shower has a rain shower and a hand held shower head. The nob to change it though was stuck so hard that it was impossible the change between them so I was left with the hand held one only. As I struggled with the nob, my little bag fell and the cubicle was so small, I had to step out to get it as there was no space to bend over. After we got ready to leave we walked through the sauna downstairs and were met with no one at reception. We were only greeted with a notice asking us to place our cards in a box. Conclusion: the overall experience was OK but management should do something about the noisy floors and the unbearable heat (and switch of the water feature at night).

I've stayed here a couple of times at Christmas, & it is feels really festive, but in a chilled out way, not a cheesy way! There's no restaurant, but you don't need one as there are plenty of restaurants in Didsbury village and in Manchester city centre, but they do serve breakfast, which is really fresh & well made.

The staff are very considerate and kind, and the whole experience is lovely. The price is reasonable, especially for high tea. I would probably visit again for another tea celebration!

Ordering the food was a little trickier but once you could finally get to speak to the person who deals with it then it was fine. This took three tries of calling but the staff were friendly so it wasn't too bad. The room they gave was plenty big enough and the doors opened onto the beautifully kept outside area. They had set two tables up for us to eat. There was plenty of food and they catered for allergies though they could make little signs for the food that's free from, just so there's no confusion and it isn't eaten by others mistakenly. The quality of the food was ok and I'm not sure the cakes were made in house, they looked like they were brought in, butthen again you're only paying £7.50.
