He is very knowledgeable and most importantly honest. You will never need to worry about being taken advantage of. Scale of services from 1 to 10 , I would rate it 15 or better. If your in the Lake Almanor area, the drive to Susanville will be worth the effort. Any local shop at Almanor won't be able to come close to service or price. This is a husband and wife (Bret and Tish Womack) who own this company that does dock service in Lake Almanor. They also own several other businesses in the local area including Womack Construction which I have heard terrible things about as well cheating customers with their ridiculous rates/price, less than quality construction and building without permits. As for Almanor Dock Supply, we have had enough of Tish (the wife) who seriously needs to learn customer service. She is rude, doesn't listen and makes up lies. Case in point: For 25 years they have stored our dock during the winter, moved our dock each fall and spring. Well this year they moved our dock to our shore in April from storage but didn't attach the dock to the shore so they now charge a separate fee to do that. (ridiculous to charge a fee to finish a job we already paid for $400). I called Tish the second week in May to ask when our dock will be attached to shore and she very rudely responded "you need to call 7 days in advance". I told her this is my 7 day call and she continued to be rude on the phone and said "we are busy!". I also asked if we can have our buoy that they installed to fixed because it was under water and her response was in a rude tone "we are very busy and can't do that for many weeks!". Again, we are a 25 year customer. The following week their crew comes to attach the dock and I asked them if they can pass our buoy as they leave and let me know if it's tangled. They said "sure" and indicated to me it's tangled as they passed it on their way to another job. 2 weeks later I open up the bill and Tish Womack charged $170 for me asking the crew to look at buoy as they pass by it!!! She then had the nerve to write on the bill "charges for wasting their time". "Workboat anchor work per hour $170". Are you kidding me?!? They passed by our buoy for 5 seconds! She also charged $35 to attach our ramp when this is supposed to be included in their $400 job of moving our dock out for summer! I contacted her regarding these charges via email and her rude tone back to me was "you asked the crew to fix the buoy", and I responded with I did not ask them to fix it, I asked for them to let me know if it was tangled. She proceeded to respond with "nope, you asked them and charges stand and have a nice day!". I responded with I did not ask them to fix it. You would think a 25 year customer, in a very little summer community they would not respond this way. Word gets around very quickly here at Lake Almanor. Every other business is very family friendly around here since everyone knows everyone in this small community. Tish and Bret Womack are the opposite. They rip people off. They have this "big business" attitude which does not vibe well here. So, her final email to me was an email that got personal and attacked me, and family members. This is absolutely no way to do business here, so I highly recommend staying away from Almanor Dock Supply or Womack Construction. Zero customer service and they make money by ripping off customers because they don't have much competition here. Many people in this community are aware of these two people and their business practices but more need to be made aware of them. Unfortunately, they are one of two that do dock service and have been around for many years and have many customers and they don't care if they lose customers and are very busy. This is no way to treat customers no matter how busy you are. Period.

I reached out to several mobile mechanics through Yelp on Thursday evening, and Jim was the only one who responded initially. He was able to schedule us for Saturday afternoon, which was critical since we were supposed to head home that day. Another shop didn't have availability until Monday and the other high rated mobile mechanic was out of town. Because of storm-related commute issues earlier in the week, Jim ended up arriving around 4pm instead of noon. Totally understandable given the conditions. He worked outside in freezing weather and never complained once. Jim was incredibly friendly and easy to talk to. He was great with my wife, my son, and even let our dogs jump on him and give him kisses. Despite the tough conditions, he got the job done and got us safely back on the road with a solid new CV axle so we could make it home as planned. I'd hire Jim again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend.

He was able to diagnose the issue (disintegrated impeller) over the phone and come meet me within an hour. He immediately got to work while I drove to Redding to grab a new impeller.
