Almarah for my vacay comeback with my son! Lamb chops of course are divine. Service great. Had take out for work for the coming week. Always clean and with friendly, professional staff!

Wow! This place is such a gem in Cedar Park. I was honestly pleasantly surprised by how good everything was. The food is super fresh and really tasty. The appetizers were amazing. The cheese rolls are a must, and the cream baklava comes out warm and fresh. The shawarma was a little dry, but the pickles and sauce totally made up for it. The service was great too. Both the host and the server were really kind. The beef kabob plate was very tender, so make sure you order it medium rare. And the hummus might actually be one of the best I've ever had. Total chef's kiss. The place was packed when we got there, so not surprising as to why! Plenty of seating for big parties or to just stop on in, casual and great food!

Last time I visited Almarah was in 2019, and a lot has changed in Cedar Park since then. So I wanted to give them another shot to see if they have maintained their quality after all these years since I had some fond memories of their food and service. The interior of the restaurant has undergone a slight makeover, with new lighting, dark blue walls, and new chairs. It's also very clean and well-maintained, so it's clear the staff takes great care of the space. As for the service, the waitstaff was excellent--they frequently checked in with us and ensured our drinks were refilled, so no complaints there. Moving on to the food, my family and I shared a half-order of the Falafel appetizer, which also came with Hummus. The falafel was made to order and incredibly fresh, with a crispy exterior and a crumbly yet moist interior. One common issue with deep-fried foods is that the oil can leave a bitter aftertaste if it's not fresh, but I'm happy to say that wasn't the case here. The falafel's flavor really shone through, with the aromatics standing out. The hummus was smooth and tahini-forward, with less tanginess than I typically prefer. That said, it was still delicious. For my main entrée, I ordered the Gyro plate, which came with pita bread, Greek salad, tzatziki sauce, and basmati rice. The Greek salad was fantastic, the greens and vegetables were fresh, and the dressing paired wonderfully with the olives and feta, offering a nice balance of salty and acidic flavors. The pita bread was baked fresh, with a slightly crisp exterior and a light, airy interior. The basmati rice had light notes of turmeric and garlic, though I would've preferred just a touch less oil and a bit more salt. The gyro itself was excellent--the ground beef and lamb were moist, rich, and perfectly charred. It was also seasoned generously with garlic and onions, and the tzatziki sauce provided a nice acidic contrast to balance out the richness of the gyro. Overall, I can definitely see why this place is still popular. The staff is friendly, the food and portion sizes are great, and after all these years, they're still delivering excellent quality. I'm honestly surprised I haven't come here more often.

The restaurant is tastefully decorated with a classical middle eastern vibe and spacious seating. The menu card is huge, filled with mouthwatering pictures of the dishes. However, I was unimpressed by the food and service. While everything we ordered was freshly made, it lacked the sauces that make these dishes flavorful. The falafel sandwich was extremely dry, served with a bitter tahini sauce. When asked if they had mayo or any other sauces, the server said he'll check on it but didyeven come back with an update. I have had better falafel wraps at local food tucks and will be choosing those over this restaurant.

After two hours of fitness, I worked up a huge appetite. Thus, I thought a "to go" Mediterranean wrap would hit the spot. I ordered a Shawarma chicken wrap that I thought I could eat on the way home. First time at Almarah...it's near my gym. Inside the restaurant is airy, spacious with a Mediterranean feel. It reminded me a bit of restaurants in Istanbul. There was one customer up front who was super friendly. I asked how was he doing and replied, "I'm great because the food hear is great. It's so good I ate hear for lunch and now I'm back for dinner." Wow...that was a huge green flag. My order was literally ready in 10 minutes. The wrap was so huge I decided to wait until I got home to share it with my husband. We both enjoyed the wrap as it was tasty and quite filling. Almarah was great dining experience and we will definitely be returning.

A decent middle eastern spot. They have lunch menu from 11-3 M-F. We stopped by on a Friday for lunch and i got the chicken shawarma sandwich with side of Fatoosh salad and hubby got the lamb shawarma sandwich with Greek salad. Their bread is spectacular & the size of the sandwich is BIG. The sandwich can easily be split into two meals. Both our sandwiches were flavorful. The fatoosh salad was a little overly tossed in the lemon olive oil dressing the lettuces were mostly all soft. The Greek salad was light and just needed a tad bit of salt. Overall it's a good spot to grab food and try different middle eastern menu items. I have tried few in the areas and by far this spot was our favorite.

We went here on Saturday mid-afternoon for linner. There were no diners when we got there so we were seated immediately. The server got our drink orders and then we proceeded to order our entrees. Next thing we know our server leaves for the evening without advising us of the shift change and our entrees come out but our drinks are no where to be found. We ask our new server when we should expect our drinks at which point he asks us again for our choices. Finally when our food and drinks arrive we start enjoying our meal which were the lamb and been kebab plate, pizza and falafel appetizers. The food was decent but nothing special. However during our entire dining experience the wait staff never came to refill our drinks or provide additional napkins until we asked for it. Its unfortunate that a decent Mediterranean restaurant had such poor service that I would never seek out this restaurant again.

My wife and I came into Almarah for the first time for lunch. It was a Saturday Afternoon, around 2:30 PM. The restaurant was not busy at all at this time and we got sat right away. The ambience was warm and the restaurant is a good size with plenty of space between tables. Definitely good for groups of 4 or more. The service we received was okay. The young waitress was not very attentive--only when we placed our order, was brought our food and paid our check, no drink refills or checking in throughout. Regarding our food, to start we ordered the "Hummus," it was a delicious start to the meal, and the pita bread it was served with was so delicious and soft, we could have eaten many baskets of it! For my entree I ordered the "Beef and Lamb Shawerma" Plate: Marinated and grilled strips of lamb and beef, served with basmati rice, tahini sauce, Greek salad and baked pita bread. The quality of the food during this visit was also just okay. It honestly didn't taste fresh when we received it. It wasn't horrible either though--the meat was mostly tender, but along with the rice it came out lukewarm, as if it had been sitting a bit before being brought to our table. The pita and hummus were definitely delicious, highlights of the meal. Overall it was an okay visit, not sure if we'd come back or not. Maybe we'll give it a try if we're in the area again.

Wow!! Hurry here and try their lunch specials! Lovely decor, friendly folks, and delicious food - the Trifecta! The chicken shawarma and humus were especially outstanding!!

Great experience at Almara! Cozy ambiance and authentic Mediterranean food. I tried the mixed grill platter and an amazing $12.99 deal with beef or gyro chicken, fries or salad, and a drink. Also loved the hummus, baba ghanoush, falafel, and the refreshing mint margarita. Desserts baklava and kunafa were delicious. Definitely recommend!

We returned back to Almarah and had another great experience! The staff were so great! Knowledgeable about the menu, spices and flavors. The restaurant was busy but the staff were very quick and on top of everything! Our table had a variety of foods which included: hummus and pita bread, gyros, beef plate, chicken plate and also falafel! Everything was fresh and delicious! This is a must try spot! We will continue to come here!

After seeing a promising post on IG, I rushed to DoorDash to order that delicious looking chicken...sadly it was overcooked/dry and flavorless. As a chef I absolutely hate spending money on food that disappoints. The salad was huge, dressing was nice and the Dolmas were delicious! I can't speak on the customer service obviously since I ordered through DoorDash but the food looks great so I'm open to giving them another shot. Great price for the portions they give but that chicken pissed me off so bad the way it was described on IG hyped it up! Said it was flavorful with roasted onions etc. nothing as described. But again the portions are great and I want to try the other dishes

I was glad we were seated outside though because even though it was a warm evening, their fans were very effective creating a constant gentle breeze. The music enhanced the experience with a fun and upbeat vibe. I truly felt like was sitting at club/bar/restaurant during a cool summer night in Greece! Just incredible. The staff were also great! Friendly and accommodating from the time we checked in for our reservation. Our server was super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful with my gluten sensitivity! The food was delicious too. Shout out to the chefs! The village salad (also reminded me of a traditional Greek village salad) was refreshing, the hot honey halloumi was like nothing I have ever tasted before, I regret not ordering extra to-go!, the Lamb chops made me feel like we were celebrating Easter - the seasoning was spot on and cooked to perfection, the Lamb and beef kefta with rice was also tasty, but the lamb chops are the clear winner. Don't forget to get dessert! If you have a gluten sensitivity like me, you are safe with the Pistachio Panna Cotta. It was a flavor high I didn't want to end! Lol. But seriously, it was super delicious, sweet, and just the right portion. Also FYI: we shared every plate. It's the way to go there, and I'm glad our server recommended that we order everything up front and they simply bring it out as each plate is ready. (Except for dessert and drinks - order those at the appropriate times of course). Speaking of our server, Lauren S, she was on it!!! Not only was she able to serve us and other tables extremely well, there was also a very large party of around 15 people next to us that she also served. Yet she always seemed to be around when you needed her and always with a friendly smile and positive attitude. Shout out to Lauren!!! You were amazing. Thank you for making our anniversary dinner memorable. Can't wait to visit Aba again!

I put in a to-go order for a kibbeh wrap; the price seemed typically high for the area, but when I got my order its quite a sizable wrap so all-in-all a pretty good deal! The food did take about 20 minutes to come out- I wasn't going to complain as there was a line of people the whole time so I could tell it was busy, but when I did get my food they apologized for the wait and gave me some free baklava so even if there had been hard feelings that would have 100% fixed it lol I'm a huge baklava fan and had actually been considering adding some onto my order but didn't because of the long line! So service was great, but most importantly- the food! The kibbe wrap was huge; I managed to finish the whole thing but in two different sittings lol. The kibbe was generous, and the pieces were flavorful and juicy. The veggies were fresh and crisp, and the whole thing was lightly sauced but the flavor of the kibbe popped enough that I didn't think it needed more sauce. Delicious and I would 100% order again. Plus the (free!) baklava was top notch! Sometimes you get the ones where the filo dough is a little tough/chewy and it still tastes great but the texture isn't there- not with this baklava! It was tender, delicious, and a perfect end to the meal. Parking was limited on the street but I believe the Triangle has garages also- I was able to snag a short term parking spot for MezzeMe which is actually why I originally decided to check it out!

The staff keeps the dining area and buffet line consistently stocked and clean. They even provide hand sanitizer and gloves for you. Even when foot traffic picked up while we were there, the food was replenished quickly and didn't look picked over. Now let's talk food...Everything tastes fresh, well-seasoned, and like it was made with care instead of just being "buffet food" an under seasoned. The variety is also amazing, and it's easy to build a plate for pretty much any type of diet whether you're keto, high protein, balanced, veggie-forward, vegan, etc... Some of our favorite dishes we keep coming back for: Shredded beef (SO good), Baked fish (tender and not fishy), Garlic baked chicken (wonderful crispy skin), Fried chicken, Baked kafta, Kafta kebab, Gyro meat, Roasted cauliflower, Eggplant, Greek salad, Fatoush, Kale Caesar salad, Zaatar pizza, Cheese pizza (pro tip: top it with shredded beef- a life changing buffet hack), Rice with lentils, Rice with mixed veggies. For the quality, variety and amount of food you get, this is easily one of the best deals in the city! It's rare to find a buffet that's both affordable and consistently this good! If I had one small wish, it would be for desserts to match how strong the rest of the food is. They're not bad, just a little more "fine" compared to how amazing everything else is. I've seen another Dimassi's (I think in Cali) that had a frozen yogurt machine and I'd LOVE to see that here because it would be the perfect finish! Make a cup and then crumble up some baklava on it! Overall we've LOVED it here and we'll absolutely keep coming back! Great food, clean, consistent, and worth it every time!

We spent around $600 with tip and fees for 5 (mixed grill, two apps, two drinks each); and while the food was delicious the meats were luke warm not piping hot, our server while very friendly was not the best at giving suggestions (basically she said everything is good lol) and wasn't able to split the check 2/3 and 1/3 instead of 50/50 ("... I don't know how to do that"), and the cocktails while tasty didn't really feel special enough to be $21-25 each. It was a very enjoyable experience I just don't know that it lived up to the price tag. For that price I'm looking for exceptional not just very good. That being said the food was delicious! Pricey but pretty good portions. The server said the mixed grill was good for around 4 people, but with two apps it was actually a little too much food for the 5 of us. Mixed grill ($220): -Rosewood Wagyu Strip and Lamb Chops: tie between these two for the best dish; they were both juicy and tender and the sauces were delicious. Not served piping hot but they were so good I didn't really mind. -Harissa Marinated Beef Tenderloin: great flavor- a tad dry. -Spiced Lamb Kefta: also dry, I liked it best with the yogurt sauce. -Red Pepper Chicken Thigh: delicious, one of my fav kabobs. -Herb & Garlic Shrimp: tasty and not overcooked -Charred King Trumpet mushroom: loved the veggie option! they mushrooms were substantial and the sauce was great. -Crispy Shallot Hummus: very good- loved the crispy shallots in particular! -Manti Dumplings: top app- I would 100% order this again the dumplings were delicious and the sauce/yogurt on top of them was the best, we wiped up every drop with the pitas! -The pita bread was hot, fresh, and delicious and our service kept on offering more, so I don't know if they've changed their policy but my experience was not the same as reviews that said only one pita per person. We refused extra pitas 3 times I think! Cocktails- everything we tried was quite good, but again there wasn't the pizaz or just 'blown away by the flavor' to feel that the crazy price was totally justified. We tried: Spanish G&T (very refreshing- don't chew on the juniper berries lol), Banana Bread Old Fashioned (pretty good even for someone who doesn't much like whiskey!), Bonfire on a Beach (fun, smokey, love the harissa on the side), Peach Martini (teensy bit sweet for me but good). The manager stopped by a few times to check on us and our server was very attentive. She did give us good service its just for the high price I would expect some more detailed suggestions on drinks, being able to split the check other than 50/50 (or at least ask someone instead of just saying 'I don't know how'). It was friendly and enthusiastic service just not 'wow this truly is fine dining' service. Outside of the restaurant, parking is a bit of a pain but that is normal for down town. We parked at the Laz garage half a block away- $8 for 2 hrs instead of the $27 for valet.

In Austin visiting and being from Buffalo and having a Greek family I wanted to get some Greek…read morefood. No Yia Yia around so I had to go out and find a place. Well after looking at several restaurants on yelp I found that most restaurants were Mediterranean but more middle eastern than Greek. Until I saw Opa. Well my wife and I gave it a shot. And we were pretty well pleased. We had a Greek salad where all the ingredients were super fresh with a nice pita bread and a grape leaf and a 2 nice pieces of feta. I also had a chicken gyro. Again all super fresh veggies filled the pita wrap and very tasty chicken. They had outdoor seating for our dog who was our dinner guest. But you have to order inside. Which I did. The person who took the order was busy but did a great job. We asked for a couple of large glasses of water with lemon and she promptly took care of us. There were small glasses out on the table but we wanted large ones cus we didn't want to keep walking inside. No problem. Food arrived after a short while and was delicious. They have a nice parking lot however getting in and out can be a little bit crazy when you have everyone from Austin rushing home. Had to wait a long time to get to exit the parking lot cus not one Texan driver would give us a break and let me in the exit lane. Next time I see a Texas license plate in New York I will remember that. But I will still give them a break.

Parking was a bit of a challenge but was able to park on the curb out front. Once inside, we placed our order at the counter and pre-paid and were given a number. They have an extensive menu with traditional Greek dishes and all-day breakfast options. As well as a full bar offering aromatic coffee, hand-crafted cocktails, fine wine, and a selection of local and international beers. The restaurant was busy we were able to place our order in a timely fashion. I opted for a cocktail along with lentils and rice and added chicken as the protein. There was indoor and outdoor seating available. After ordering, we sat outside in the most cozy and intimate outdoor seating area. Unfortunately, after waiting 30+ minutes, we never received our food. When we checked at the counter, the interaction felt pretty condescending, staff insisted the order had already been brought out even though we never received it and still had our number with us. At that point we had to cancel the order so we wouldn't miss our show. I do appreciate that they offered a full refund without issue, but overall the experience left us disappointed, especially with how the situation was handled.

Seeing how it was transformed into The Greek Bar made my heart smile. I couldn't believe how they had transformed it, especially the outdoor seating area. A little oasis off Oltolf. As soon as we got there we were greeted by one of the owners. Daphne was all smiles and instantly made us feel at home. She was so informative, you can tell she had a passion and was very proud of her restaurant... Rightfully so! We started with some cocktails... My friend had the Gin and Tonic, I had the Old Fashion... Very nice and our other friend had the lemonade. Even though it was an afternoon in July... The outdoor area was very comfortable with the fans blowing on us and the natural breeze coming through. The menu was explained to us and she gave us recommendations. Both of my friends got the Lamb Kefta skewers... What a beautiful plate.. All the vibrant colors. I ordered the Greek Fried Chicken. I wasn't sure what to expect but I was feeling adventurous. The menu description was Greek Style Fried Chicken with Loukoumades ( Greek Style donuts drizzled with honey), slaw and house made pickles. Another stunning presentation. I tried each item first separately and each item were both delightful and unique. The Brine of the Feta Marinade Chicken that was crispy but light and so tender inside with the sweetness of the donuts and topped off with crunchy slaw that had a great dill and fresh taste to it, all came together. Think Chicken and Waffles but Greek Style. From beginning to end, it was an absolute treat. Perfect place for a date, girl's night out, an important occasion to celebrate or just want to treat yourself. The Greek Bar is a great representation of what is South Austin.... Comfortable, Corky and just a Great Vibe. I look forward to coming here for Dinner, exploring more of their menu and treat myself to another great cocktail. A gem for sure!

The space itself is lovely, with a charming patio full of plants and a beautifully designed bar inside. I ordered one of their breakfast chicken dishes, and while it was enjoyable, it didn't quite stand out to me for the price. The portion was on the smaller side, the dish was a bit oilier than I prefer, and I found myself wishing it had a few more components to round out the plate. At this price point, I personally would have preferred a bowl from Kebabalicious in East Austin, which I find to be a better value. Overall, it's a cute spot with a great atmosphere, but the food just didn't quite live up to the setting for me.

The hardwood ceiling and the glass window in front of me seemed to amplify sound from every direction. I was with a group of six men, and none of us could hear each other. As the noise increased, every table seemed to raise its volume just to communicate, and it became painful. The food had a BBQ flavor, which was different for Mexican food. Some people may like that, but it was not what I expected. It was 4 star food. I think sitting outside would probably be much better.
