The businessman even went into my room with me to say that if I wanted to have oil and take off my clothes that I have to pay the extra $10. That if I wanted a "real massage" it was $65. It was so annoying. I told him I wanted whatever it was that I had signed up for online. So I get the massage and the massage is pretty decent. For a foot massage I wish they would've spent more time on my feet. But what the masseuse did to my back was wonderful. So I go to leave and pay them. Again, the businessman adds the credit card fee on it without saying anything to me about and expected m to sign a receipt on his machine where I couldn't see that the total charge was added. Then he asked if I wanted to have one of their little coupon cards like so many massage places have. I said sure. I went to reach for it and he wouldn't let it go because he said I needed to scan the QR code on that card right NOW to give them a five star review. I just looked at him like he was crazy and walked out. What kept that experience from being a five star experience was his behavior. I hate a bait and switch. I hate an aggressive up sale, especially when I'm there to relax. If they want to sell their massages for $65 they should advertise it as that. I think this is a franchise. I hope corporate is listening.

I had called…read moreseveral spas in the Port Isabel and Brownsville area to see if I could get my two daughters to have a massage together while my two granddaughters were having a facial together and then flip them. I talked to Amanda at Etoile de Paris several times and she guaranteed me that they would have two ladies doing facials and two ladies doing massages at the same time. I explained that it was birthday presents and very important this could be done. I was explicitly told this was possible and they would have 4 girls there that morning. I deposited my fee to hold and book the services. When we got there only two girls had shown up. My daughters waited an hour while my granddaughters got their massage and then my granddaughters had to wait an hour while my daughters got theirs. Needless to say, everyone was very disappointed they couldn't get any facials and that each one had to wait an hour!! The receptionist didn't know why the other two employees didn't show up and no one called me to let me know it wasn't going to happen. I called Amanda when I got back to my home state, and all she could say was she had a family emergency that morning and didn't know anything. I think it was very inconsiderate to not even call and let me know that what I was promised was going to happen didn't. Be careful believing what you are promised there!
