They're wonderful. Dr. Hover and his sister, Carol treat you pet as if it were their own. They go above and beyond to help.

Hornell Animal Hospital - My dog Carlos

So for those of you who might be visiting, here's a heads up. The office is technically a house…read morethat was turned into an animal hospital. So just keep that in mind when looking for it. The location is the LAST house on the left before you hit the T/dead end. COVID precautions, they're meeting you at your car (if you're parked in their garage space) and passing off your documents there, you sign everything and they come to get it later. You'll drop off your pet in a small exam room, and you can run some errands and come back, which is nice. I was able to get an appointment about a week or so after my first call to them, so they are accepting new patients, unlike the Almond veterinary hospital. Now here's the downside... so I had an appointment at 3:30 (mind you, they close at 4), and I was told to come early. My cat ended up being a lot more nervous than I expected, crying his head off in his crate, so I was only 5 minutes early, instead of the 15 they asked for. The doctor wasn't ready to see my cat when I arrived. I proceeded to wait for another half an hour, and he was only admitted a few minutes before 4. I'm at least glad that they didn't force me to come back. Otherwise, it would be a really bad review. They gave me a call when the doctor was done and they didn't seem too much in a hurry, so I wasn't stressed out about getting back on time. I had been in the checkout line at Walmart when I got the call. Costs weren't absolutely the worst, but they're still up there, but so are most vets. There is a 3% credit card surcharge, which seems to be very common in upstate/western NY right now. The doctor was very friendly and willing to talk to me about some concerns and signed off on some paperwork that I needed for bringing my cat on a plane. I didn't feel rushed at all, which I appreciated. Dr. Koch is very personable, and I enjoyed speaking with him. Otherwise, I might have given a 3 star review for how long I had to wait.

Dr Coch seemed really thorough doing the exam he took many things into consideration. All in all he sent my dog home with an antibiotic and I have a follow-up appointment in a week. Dr Koch seems really friendly and gentle with my dog. I didn't think it was too terribly expensive although I have nothing else to compare it with as this was the first time I've taken him to the vet since he was small and needed his shots. My dog has always been extremely healthy. My Chihuahua usually nips and tries to bite people when they're handling him. He didn't try that at all with his staff or Dr Coch he actually seemed pretty comfortable little nervous but not overly so. I was happy with the experience I had and I'm giving five stars

With my experience level, we were able to do decent bursts of cantering uphill, and Waffles has quite the motor for a draft! there is such a variety of horses and sizes that there is likely a personality to fit any person (within reason). on the hilltop boogie ride, the farm we passed through was beautiful and it was fun to see the other animals. The trails were beautiful as well, with red-tailed hawks soaring overhead, bucks leering at us warily through the trees, and various other critters to spot from the trail. All the staff was friendly, sharing jokes and quips before and after the ride when we passed by. The solo fee is extremely reasonable, as was the price of the ride itself. For those who haven't experienced it, the creek crossing would be fun! I guide beginner trail rides for work in Pennsylvania, and I learned a few helpful tricks and ideas to implement over there. I can confidently recommend this facility, and Zoe as a guide!

Here's why: Erika, the owner, takes the time to learn about each prospective rider before you come so she can pair you with the perfect horse. So be sure and take the time to let them know in the online questionnaire how you are with horses and riding. I'm a confident rider and got a great horse for me where my husband isn't as confident rider and he was paired with a sweet easy going horse, Faye. Actually all the horses are sweet and wonderful. We did a one hour trail ride. The trail was fun - not too challenging and we even got to stop by a beautiful creek so the horses could take a drink. It's absolutely magical & no better way to see the beauty of this region. Now the horses: They are all beautiful, very healthy and thus happy. You can get to know them on the Painted Bar Stables website! Many are rescued and have been revitalized by being in this wonderful place. I can't wait to return.
