Ala Clint Eastwood - To a man on the road, there are three kinds of hotels: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. Here is how the Aloft Miami Doral stacks up. The Good The staff here are pleasant and professional, and the cleaning crew does a great job; I had no cleanliness concerns during my stay. The room design reminds me of an upscale dorm room or a hostel, which works for this brand. A major plus is the 107 Steak and Bar attached to the Element Hotel, which shares the back courtyard--it's a fantastic place to grab a meal or drink without leaving the property. If you do venture out, La Terrezza and MIA Still & Brewery are both nearby and are great choices. The gym is solid, and the lobby is laid out nicely for working or networking. The music has a beat, but it isn't overpowering like at the Moxy. You also get plenty of free parking with your pass, and the mattress and pillows were very comfortable. The Bad The technology is a bit behind the times. The TVs don't have an easy streaming option for Netflix, and there are no premium movie channels. If you are someone who needs to unpack, take note: there is no drawer space. They provide an iron, but there is no steamer available for your clothes. The Ugly A person on the road for work looks forward to two comforts: a good bed and a hot shower. This place only delivered on the first. The best the shower could do was "pretty warm," which just doesn't cut it when you're trying to relax after a long day. Then there's the coffee. The lobby coffee was weak and undrinkable both days; I've had bad lobby coffee before, but rarely would I rather throw it away than drink it. The breakfast was also a letdown. The burrito was essentially a frozen, microwaved meal. The bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich was passable, but for just a few more dollars, you should go across the street to La Terrezza and treat yourself to a real meal. read more

One of the cheapest, if not the cheapest Marriott family property in the central Miami area. Do not get an adjoining room, the door doesn't protect against noise. You can hear everything in that room. Better off staying at the other Marriott's in the area. 2nd stay. Most likely my last. read more

Where to begin... at first you think it will be a nice hotel based on the lobby. However, the minute you leave the elevator you can see the minimal effort put into the hotel. Exposed pipes, leaking ceilings, and make shift cardboard hallway lamps. The rooms are extremely cold and don't dare ask for an extra duvet because based on their body language this is unheard of. One of the most off putting situations is that almost no one spoke English when I needed help. How is it I need a translator in my own country?? Not only this, the tv did not work, the shower leaked water all over the floor, and the fridge was broken. There are so many other nice places in Miami. Save your money and stay somewhere you will enjoy and not stress while on your trip. The highlight? I only had to stay here for a couple days. read more

The only positive about this property is the free parking--which is a shared lot with an additional property so good luck finding parking when both have guests. This was not a good experience. To begin, almost NO ONE speaks English. It's really frustrating having to learn another language to communicate your needs when you're an American living in AMERICA going to an AMERICAN hotel. When we arrived at the hotel we asked for a crib for the baby because they said they had one available when I called ahead of time. They could not locate the crib so we ended up picking up a pac n play. The refrigerator didn't work at all so I called it in and someone brought a new one. When I turned on the tv it turned off immediately, and that continued to happen for 10minutes until it stayed on and then randomly turned off again after an hour. We had someone come and "fix" it but it continued to happen. I also asked for another duvet cover set and they said that they didn't have any? How do you not have extra blankets at a hotel? I don't buy that! We never got our extra duvets Honestly our whole experience was just frustrating, not to mention the hallways look like a psych ward. I definitely would not stay here again. ...it seems like many people experience broken tv's, mini fridges and phones. read more

Clean hotel, multiple level building. We stayed in the 4th floor. I don't think they have valet parking but park yourself in the back with a pass to put on the dashboard. This building has elevators (2) and stairs. There's a bar and a in house restaurant which close at 10:30 PM and the bar closed at midnight in the lobby w/ a section for game area. The concierge at check-in was OK. Our room is clean and spacious except the shower door looks a bit outdated/broken but it could use some update. The bed in our room is a bit too soft. I had a brief stay at the Aloft hotel in Doral and, overall, enjoyed my time here. The amenities truly helped to boost this rating from a 3 to a 4 star. The best part about this hotel is the lobby bar/ lounge: W XYZ. After traveling and arriving at night, it was great that we were able to go downstairs, enjoy the DJ, cocktails, pool, etc. HUGE bonus. Although we arrived at the end of the Barcardi free tasting event about 20 minutes before it ended, the servers were no longer serving for this event and packing to leave. Overall, the lounge is a nice tough; service could be improved a bit. For the hotel room, it was simple and nice. Reminds me of a dorm room. The tv had premium channels and I was able to view the pool from the window. However, the floor was sticky, which made me concerned about cleanliness (especially since the bathroom floor is black). I did enjoy that they offered cooked breakfast and cold lunch options in the lobby for a reasonable price; yet, the hot breakfast items were offered on Saturday only and not Sunday. I really enjoyed the pool (and I didn't expect to, because it's such a small area)... but it clean, attended to well, and right outside from the bar area. I wish the bar opened earlier than 5pm, especially while enjoying the pool during the day (and we were disappointed that it didn't open on Saturday at all!... not posting or notification of this). Other food options included 107 Steak house right next door at the Element hotel. They had $20 bottomless Prosecco and opened sooner than the W XYZ Aloft lounge! Another reason for the decline in star is due to multiple charges still being charged to my partner's card days later. We charged multiple things to the room and didn't get a bill until we called the hotel. The bill was confusing and had two different totals; yet, the bank account was charged something different. I would definitely recommend this hotel; however, it's best to know what you're getting and how far you are from known areas in Miami. Additionally, don't charge anything to the room. Ask that it is charged to a separate card immediately. read more

You walk in and it doesn't feel nice at all. The rooms are configured super weird. There's a lonely mini fridge on the floor. It smells weird throughout the whole establishment and the rooms. The hallways walls look uninviting and contained. I recommend finding somewhere else to stay. I had to stay here for work. The company I worked for booked for three nights. I had to pay out of pocket to go stay somewhere else. That's how bad I disliked it. Yikes. read more

I chose the Aloft because we are Ambassador Elite members with Marriott and I usually love the vibe of their Alofts. This was me however was so below the Marriott standards I'm am floored. I would have gone elsewhere but I flew in late Friday night there was an issue with my reservation, which has literally never happened, by the time I got in my too. I was beyond exhausted and had a horrible headache and earache. I tried to calm room service only to realize my in room phone didn't work. So I had to get dressed go back downstairs and call room service from the front desk phone. I did not leave my room Saturday and ordered DoorDash and got medicine from the local pharmacy which did deliver. I travel with a pillow case and small blanket so the dirty pillow was tossed to the side and I put a new pillow case on another one. The floors in the entire room need a good cleaning. I wore socks at all times and they have dirty bottoms due to dirty floor. The bathroom door would not close, which is fine bc I am alone however if I had been traveling with my husband that would not have been ok. When I got out of the shower there was black water dripping off the shower door and onto the bath mat. Overall it was not to a point of complete gross but will be very soon if they don't do something. I personally will never stay here again. And I also would never recommend anyone else to stay here. The refrigerator in room is not working, phone not working, ac makings loud rattle Oh and the staff in the hallway are sooo Loud! Like 7:30 they start banging and yelling down the hall to one another. You do hear airplanes as airport is close by but it's not an issue. The traffic however sounds like you have all your windows open and live between 2 speedways. I'm in shock that this property belongs to Marriott! The lobby with 2 tiny check in counters, the lady waves us over no pleasantry. The elevate that barely moved & was dark. The hallways that were creepy dark and in desperate need of care - perhaps that's why it was so dark? The room with a fridge randomly on one side, patched up ceiling, AC unit under a desk so one side cools only, also it did not to pull humidity out. The coffee pot that didn't work. Disappointed. I wanted to get away for the weekend and decided to try this hotel. I should have just stayed home. To begin with I made a reservation for a King Suite and was given a Double Bed Suite. I proceeded to go to the front desk and advised the gentleman that he had given a Double Bed Suite and he said that he did not have any King beds available. Already starting off on the wrong foot. Next - THE ROOM - The reservation says "refrigerator" as one of the amenities. It's a mini fridge and this would be useful if it worked. I called the front desk to advise the same gentleman about the situation and he told me that it's not a refrigerator but, it's just used to keep items "cool." He proceeded to send the maintenance worker and he knew it didn't work but, didn't say anything and instead brought me a bag of ice and cups. - The shower ; this room did not have HOT WATER! And with the door locked the shower would leak out to the shower floor. I had to use the room towels to dry this mess. - Request for iron - the room is equipped with iron and ironing board according to the front desk but, neither in the room. When I called the front desk to advise they made it seem like I wasn't looking hard enough for the items but they were never in the room! - Checkout - upon checkout I advised the gentleman of all my concerns and all he could say was "I'm sorry!" First time in Miami and needed a hotel for 2 nights before we all stay in our air bnb for the week. First off we get to the room and start to load the mini fridge with waters and realize it isn't working. Then I notice a booger on the hand towel by the sink.... Disgusting. Then we settle in and turn the tv on just to realize it likes to randomly turn off and flicker around. Besides that the ac unit is loud the walls seem hallow. The bathroom door doesn't even shut flush or lock. The beds are uncomfortable and the room feels humid and damp. The room is just an awkward setup making it difficult for multiple people to stay in a room. I personally can't believe this is a Marriott owned property and will never be staying here again. The staff at the desk were nice enough and did answer the phone and make attempts to remedy some issues but not all. They did get us another fridge which did work. But we asked for an extra comforter cuz the ones on the bed are thin and hard to stay warm and they said they didn't have any.... Crazy a hotel doesn't have extra bed covers?? And they sent someone 2 times to fix things in the room and the same guy came and spoke 0 English.. not helpful when trying to diagnose the issue the tv is having through google translate... do better read more

Conveniently located between Miami International Airport and Dolphin Mall. The front desk staff was very friendly and genuine. Check in was a breeze and my room was ready and perfect. The hotel seemed like it was pretty full, based on the amount of cars in the parking lot but was very quiet and calm inside. I only stayed for one night and was able to relax and get some much needed rest before a long travel day. Definitely recommend staying here. read more

This place looks very cute and is centrally located near the airport and Dolphin Mall. There is a pool and cute bar as a little shop too. Both my colleague and I forgot our toothbrushes-- what is the chance? But they hooked us up. I got my preferred room - high floor away from elevator. The decor is cute and contemporary. My carpet was dirty and frayed. The bathroom was super cute and the tile was very modern. I always love the bliss toiletries at W and aloft. There was a bottle of water for middle of the night thirst and a little refrigerator. The A/C was very loud. I mean it was "you can't hear yourself think" loud. But apparently it covers up paper thin walls. My sheets were scratchy and smelled dirty. Like someone slept in them for days. Gross. There was a ladies night $2 prosecco deal at the bar that was the best part for sure. Still, for the right price I'd consider it again before a Miami departing flight. read more

Hotel façade with a motel/no frills middle.... Let's start with saying that I booked this hotel on the strength of location, price, and availability for my business travel itinerary. Approximately 3 miles from Florida International University. I also prefer a hotel with an airport shuttle, which Aloft has. The booking and schedule is a little iffy because of the distance and Miami traffic. However, after a snafu in picking me up, the shuttle service manager was kind enough to personally pick me up. She was apologetic and kind, and her red carpet service made my initial impression of Aloft more favorable. The front desk was also very helpful. So shout out to Carolina and Val! I took 2 stars off once I got past the funky and vibrant lobby, with a chill bar, WXYZ. My room was clean, but you can see the carpet is in need of an update and my headboard was scratched and in disrepair. The lighting in my room was very dim...not in a sexy way, but in a "replace the bulbs and add a lamp" kind of way. Plus I couldn't filter any natural light because the roll shades (instead of curtains) had 2 settings: up or down. When they are up, you have ZERO privacy. Lol And the fridge under the bathroom sink was just ill-conceived placement...The room layout didn't flow and there was one whole side that seemed like dim, unused space. Verdict: great for 20-somethings with low standards looking for a good time. This hotel is not really for the business crowd. read more

Terrific hotel and experience! Michael at the front desk was very warm and welcoming. Speedy check in process, clean lobby, spacious! Nice bar in the lobby - this place is for me! If you check into hotel via yelp, you get a free drink at the bar! I got a cuban and it was scrumptious as hell and I was pleased! Room was super trendy and bathroom was immaculate. Loved the toiletries - smelled amazing. Fridge in the room! Comfy bed and pillows! 1 star off for dogs barking (could be heard on my floor - I dont do pets!) 1 more star off for A LA CARTE breakfast. Really? You want me to fix my own piece of toast and charge me 1.25? 3.75 for juice or bottled water. This is so petty and trival. Not a fan of the breakfast at all. By anymeans. This was pathetic! First time staying in an Aloft hotel, even though years ago an old classmate of mine was the front desk manager. I had always seen the pics and videos of what a fun place it was. Got there on a Sat around noon - they allowed us early check-in / Prosecco bottle and fruit bowl waiting inside the room. That was awesome!!! I think it was a very thoughtful compliment. The size of the room wasn't the biggest but for my purposes / sleep and shower more than enough. The property has quite a few nice amenities; Amazing bar (down side they open after 5pm so no alcohol) bartender was really cool and friendly (he was super cool) Pool is perfect size, it wasn't busy at all the three days I stayed there. It has some nice style lounge covered style beds. Front desk staff was very cool (girls) there was a hispanic guy not very willing to do his job. One thing you NEED to try a A.L.O. It is a robot that takes your room service to you. They basically fill the robots chest and it goes to your room autonomously. TRY IT!!! I got video, thought it was SO freakin' cool!! Pros: - MIA beer company is a block away (I have a review on them) - Nice looking bathroom (strange odor near shower) - Friendly women staff at front desk - Great location / Doral has a lot to see and lot's of places to eat! - Close to MIA international - Pool is great - A.L.O.; never seen anything like it - You can smoke near pool area !!! I like to go out and plan to celebrate an upcoming milestone birthday by traveling to either Ibiza or Burning Man. I occasionally go to a certain after hours club known for Tiki Tiki Untz Untz music. Therefore for me to complain that a place is TOO LOUD please believe it is. Poor acoustics in the design of the space, and placement of the speakershave to do with it I guess. It sounded like just noise! I wasn't approached by wait staff at all even as I was browsing a menu. The bar area seemed to be understaffed. While waiting for the $8 valet to pick up my car I witnessed them not being able to find another car. Use of the valet is needed due to the hotel lot being limited in spaces due to construction. At least my car was found and radio presets weren't changed. read more

Worst hotel experience of my life. where to begin, the hotel is basically at the end of the runway from MIA and this hotel was built so cheaply you hear planes all night and early morning. The beds are awful, both beds in my room are worn and sunken like it's been used for years. Several others in my group reported the same in their rooms. everything in the room that is electric makes noise. Loud refrigerator, loud AC, literally loud is how I would describe this place. While trying to sit outside last night you can't even have a con because the planes come so frequently. The food is terrible too. I had to change rooms because they initially put me in a room over a generator that went off every twenty minutes. after switching rooms because I couldn't sleep, I'm left in a new room with a broken tv and no one available until the next day to fix it. I called first thing in the morning and no one came. Lastly, this is the icing on the cake: the hotel actually employs someone to come at 6:30AM every day and blow leafs with a gas leaf blower. the only nice thing I can say about this place is the staff have been friendly. do yourself a favor and staying anywhere but here. You will NOT get a peaceful nights sleep here. read more

Greeted warmly at the reception desk, I was offered a room on the 4th floor which had a nice view overlooking the pool. The weather was rather cool for Florida, so there was no problem with noise from outside, but I could hear the few people down below. So I imagine if there was poolside partying, it could disrupt someone who wanted to sleep. All the pictures are accurate. Lobby / bar area and rooms are modern and nicely furnished and clean. Never had any parking problems, maybe not a busy time, but lot is large. The service at the bar was excellent with a reasonable choice of appetizers and sandwiches. I had pulled pork sliders, fries, and cole slaw which was done well and reasonably priced. As mentioned elsewhere, a "service charge" is automatically added on, so I felt no obligation to give an additional tip (even though there is another line on the bill to suggest it). In the morning, there is a buffet and also made-to-order stuff. Pricing is a bit confusing, but not unreasonable. Not sure how much you can load on a buffet plate before the price jumps up, but I had eggs, bacon, croissant and juice for under $15. The hotel is 20 minute from the airport, maybe more in rush hour. It is a good value for the money. read more

Let me start by saying that everyone in the front desk was polite and kind. My problem is with the hotel in general. I absolutely hate this hotel. I am going to start by saying that the hallways made me feel like I was walking through jail, dark and scary. The bedroom had a modern layout, and was clean. But the bathroom itself was a disaster. There is no hot water, it is only warm. So you basically cannot take a hot bath. No one told us that we don't get turnover service, so we were basically waiting in our room for someone to come. We were in and out but when we got back at 5:30 and noticed the room is still not clean, we called down and they told us that they don't provide that service. Most hotels nowadays after covid let you know this. I will never stay at a hotel like this again. I could not wait to leave. read more

This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. Not only do you get put on hold for 20 minutes at the front desk before getting hung up on. We asked for toothpaste which never came. Then we asked for a late check out and was told we couldn't get one unless we payed 50.00 The room had fluorescent lighting. We requested a king and got two doubles and were told there was nothing they could do about it. We had to walk downstairs to place a room service order because supposedly "the phone was broken" and to add insult to injury the room we had was right next to a room that was having renovations, so beginning at 6am all we heard was banging from a hammer. I would give this place a minus if I could. Don't ever stay here. Because all you will hear is "there's nothing we can do miss" unprofessional and not much help at all read more

A clean and organized room Friendly and attentive staff Free parking Pet friendly (for all those pet lovers) Inexpensive Late check out time Well this hotel has all of those. Let's start with their pet policy, they will not charge you extra for your pet which I found so convenient. The whole decor and theme of the hotel is minimalist, rooms are practical, well decorated and bright. Staff is amazing they even cared about an argument I had in the parking lot and made sure I felt safe leaving my car parked there. Parking is free and secure and their check out time is at 12pm. Keep in mind breakfast is not free and it went from $10 to $15 for their buffet. read more

I really want to give this 3 stars but the condition of the bathroom was pretty poor. The room itself was clean and decent for the price. However with all other Aloft's I've stayed at this did not live up to the name. The bathroom door was a slider that had no lock, and no tracks. SO every time you wanted to use it you had to hold the door then when you wanted to open it say IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT it would bang very loudly against the counter since it wasn't on any tracks and could flop around. Next was the shower itself. The floor was dirty and the drain hole itself looked unfinished with some rough cut tile. The painting around the tile work and baseboards in the bathroom was very sloppy and rushed. Overall experience made it a let down. The staff and lobby was great as was housekeeping but this property needs to raise its standards. read more
