This is a really nice hotel, but falls short of five stars. Everyone here is extremely nice and most are friendly. I dont speak Spanish, so there can be a language barrier in interactions with some staff. I was super happy my room had been upgraded because the hotel was full. Check in was easy and efficient. The King Premium with sofa was nice and quiet. The bed and linens were oh, so comfy! The bathroom was super clean though a bit small by Intercontinentals I visit. They have three parking spots reserved for Diamon Elite! Awesome! The pool is on the small side and I am not sure if it is heated. They have nice fresh towels conveniently located by the pool and a good selection of loungers. It was nice to relax here for a couple hours. I was disappointed that the club lounge was closed for reno and members were "relocated" to a few tables in the lobby. It was a bit annoying when people were walking thru those few tables to go outside to attend a private event last evening. It just didn't have that special feeling. A real plus is the hotel shuttle! I took advantage of it to go to nearby Dolphin Mall, rather than driving myself. It was so convenient to be dropped off at the mall entrance and not bother with seeking a parking spot. I would definitely stay here in the future and would look forward to experiencing the renovated club lounge. read more

I chose this hotel because I thought it was close to the cruise port of Miami and it has a lovely pool that I wanted to enjoy being that it's January and freezing where I live. I was wrong. It was about a half hour away and had I known this, I would've stayed at a hotel closer to the cruise port. The staff at the front desk were pleasant and check in was smooth. The room was nice appointed with a lousy view of the roof. The bed was comfortable and the room was also equipped with a Keurig coffee maker. After checking in to the room, I went down to the pool and hung out there for a couple of hours. It was very relaxing, but the water was on the cold side. I was informed that they had a happy hour which consisted of five dollar appetizers at 5 PM at the bar, which is what I decided to check out. There was definitely a language barrier with the bartenders so I had to point to things on the menu. The calimari was rock hard and the worst I've ever had. Once I let them actually feel one of the pieces, they took it away and removed the charge from my bill. Certain glasses of wine were five dollars during this happy hour period, which was a good deal. They do not offer shuttle service from the Miami airport to their hotel, but they will offer free shuttle service within a 3 mile radius of the hotel, should you wish to venture out and go shopping or out to eat. I'm giving it 4 stars for the room and the pool area. Everything else was just very average and for the price I paid for the room, I don't think I would return. read more

Came here for the Skybridge Cigar Club event and was seriously impressed. There was ample parking which was free for the first 2 hours. It was raining but there was plenty of cover to escape the elements. The staff was friendly and we stayed after the event at the bar. We had a round of Diplos (Diplomático Rum from Venezuela) and were offered some snacks while we listened to the DJ spin an eclectic mix of classic Spanish and current hits. I probably wouldn't come for a staycation but certainly for a nightcap or a meal. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Our check-in was seamless and the room was very nicely decorated. The price for the room was only about $170 (plus taxes & parking). The price for parking was $18 but since I recently had to pay $40 to park at a Hyatt in Miami, I was pleased at this fee. The lobby is reasonably nice. Unfortunately, the bar closed just as I was checking in so I didn't get to review that. The towels were large and fairly good quality. The bedding was nice as well. My few (minor) complaints are no bar of soap (only liquid soap), the beds were a little bit firm for my preference. Overall, it was a very positive experience and I would stay here again if I just needed a comfortable hotel. It's not an upscale resort but it's still very nice. read more

I struggled with how to rate this hotel because it's not a dump by any means, but there are far too many issues for a hotel at this price point. We stayed here over a weekend while visiting family in Miami. Immediately when we got to the room it was freezing, probably in the low 60s. We turned the thermostat up to 72 and got under the covers to try (unsuccessfully) to warm up. The TV advertises the ability to stream using Chromecast, but despite following the instructions on the screen, we couldn't get it to work on any of our devices (and we both work in IT so I don't think it's user error). After struggling with that, we noticed the vents were still blowing cold air. I went to the thermostat and turned it up as high as it could go (90 degrees) just to see if it was even working. It wasn't. After over an hour at "90 degrees" we eventually just turned the thermostat off entirely to stop it from blowing cold air into the already chilly room. On the other hand, the fridge seemed to not be working because it was not cold inside at all. One plus is that the staff were very friendly and professional, and the lobby was decently nice. But overall, the place could use some serious maintenance and even a complete renovation in order to justify the price they charge for it. I will stay elsewhere next time I am in Doral. read more

I had an annual flex night to use that was expiring soon but couldn't travel out of town in time to use it, so I decided to redeem it for somewhere in Miami. I was also not feeling too well, so I thought maybe a little staycation could help. It was already late, so there weren't that many hotel choices. I ended up choosing the Intercontinental Hotel in Doral, which I was surprised was part of the list, because of reviews and the location. When I entered the lobby, I spoke to Alexandra at the front desk. She was really helpful, patient, kind, and understanding. She helped me check in, explained where everything was, gave me a parking pass, and asked me how I was doing. She helped me feel better as I had been grieving over the loss of my dog. I really appreciated her kindness, empathy, and caring nature. I have stayed at other hotels for work before and not many employees stop and ask genuinely how you are doing, so what she did meant a lot to me. She gives really great hugs too. The hotel room was comfortable. I could hear the neighbors but I had ear plugs, so I didn't mind and slept fine. The shower pressure was great. The room came with a robe and slippers too. Everything was clean. I tried the breakfast buffet the next morning and the food was delicious. The juices were fresh. The servers were very helpful and friendly. I'm going to start this out by saying the reason for the 2 stars is simply because I ordered room service (soup), and there was broken ceramic in my soup. I stayed here on a work trip in November 2024 for 3 nights. Check in was a breeze, and they were very nice and allowed me to check in early (a few hours). No issues with the room or any of the other parts of my stay. I unfortunately was traveling from Hawaii and got sick the day before, so I was basically trapped in my room the entire 3 days I was in Miami (booooooo! but I didn't want to get anyone sick!) So, I did order room service I believe twice during my stay for dinner, and I ordered some chicken noodle soup, and there were pieces of porcelain that clearly came from another broken dish (not my dish and not any other dish that was on my tray). Of course I didn't notice or see these pieces until I got to the bottom of the soup, which really irritated me. Probably more than it should have but between me feeling like crap and overpaying for the room service food as it was, that was annoying! Otherwise, this hotel was totally fine, and I would probably stay again - just NO ROOM SERVICE! read more

This place was a breath of fresh air, the hospitality, the food the ambience and the service was amazing. I had a great experience. They even gave me a late check out till 2 PM which was great for me because my flight was at 4 PM. You have to try the lobster bisque , the best soup I would say-is in my top five. The tacos were also amazing. You can taste the char on the chicken The breakfast is delicious at first class. We had a great overnight stay at this hotel. We arrived early from our cruise vacation and they were able to get us a room early which we appreciated! The lobby was decorated beautifully for Christmas and they had a wonderful art gallery in the hallway on display. This hotel also had a few eateries across the street from the hotel and down the street as well. We ended up walking a few block to a place called The Fatty Crab which we enjoyed. If walking, please be careful as this hotel is not in a residential area more highway like area. We would stay here again. Clean rooms and good customer service! read more

I recently stayed at the Intercontinental for a work conference in the Miami/Doral area. The hotel was only about a 20 minute Uber ride from Miami international airport and easily accessible. This was not the most convenient location for going into Miami, and those Uber rides took quite some time. If you aren't looking to go into the city often, and plan on staying in and around Doral, this is a good spot. The hotel is conveniently located about 10 minutes away from the Doral yard and what I can assume was downtown Doral. Getting back to the hotel in rush-hour traffic took closer to 25 minutes, but the ride in was quick and easy. The hotel has a restaurant and bar, though I didn't order food myself, the food I saw from my coworkers looked pretty good. The exterior of the hotel and the lobby area was nice, clean, and well kept. Due to the nature of this being a heavy business travel hotel, they were all out of suites and I was put in a room with two double beds. The room was spacious and the beds and pillows were comfortable. My curtain was partially detached from the rod up top, so quite a bit of sunlight came in in the mornings, aside from that I slept comfortably. The chair at the desk also seemed to be broken, it felt as if the middle of it was much more pointed than it should be and was not a comfortable place to sit. The front desk staff was attentive and nice, they gave us multiple waters every evening when we returned, which was very appreciated. read more

A clean and comfortable business hotel near the newer Doral area, and conveniently close to MIA Airport (about 15-20 mins drive during non-peak traffic time), hence the many flight crews checking in and out. The front desk check-in staff were friendly. There's a bar and restaurant in the lobby and a pretty large outdoor pool just off the lobby. I used the gym twice - it was decently equipped (a few treadmills, a bench or two, a rack of free weights, towels, and water bottles). My room had a very comfortable king bed and a view over the parking garage. It was quiet, and I'll take quiet over a view any day! (I'll get my view when I leave the hotel!) It had a safe, robe, iron-ironing board, Keurig coffee machine, free water bottles, and free WiFi. I loved the easily-accessible outlets and USB ports on the bedside table! Two improvements that could be made: 1) more and brighter lights in the room and bathroom - it was dim! 2) a better-placed mirror - mine was inconveniently tucked into a nook near the adjoining room door There's not much to do/eat within walking distance of the hotel, but Ubers were very easy to get and the Doral Yard, a shopping/eating area, is a short 10-15 minute drive away. I would stay there again if I needed a hotel near MIA Airport and/or Doral. read more

A great place to stay while in Miami! Convenient placement to the MIA airport and easy freeway access. Planes were passing by often, but I could not hear them while in my first floor hotel room. The lobby is very nice and the staff were friendly and helpful. Everything was very clean in the common areas, and everything needed was easily accessible. The pool area in the courtyard was beautiful, with lots of vegetation, a very sizeable pool in a T shape that gave ample room for both people swimming for exercise and leisure. There are plenty of chairs and beach towels are supplied by the hotel. The pool does theoretically close, but I took a couple late night swims and no one dissuaded me. I think as long as you are quiet, they don't mind. My room was comfortable and clean, with a very cushy lounge chair, soft king bed, ample large pillows, and soft linens. Wifi was strong and pretty speedy in my room, and there was no shortage of outlets by the bed, desk, and anywhere you might want one. A\C worked great, which is nice, because when I get a room to myself I like it crisp (especially in Miami). There was also a safe, fridge, keurig, complimentary bottled water, iron and board, and your other usual accoutrements. Housekeeping tidied up my room daily while I was out, and everything was serviced properly. Two minor complaints, not enough to affect the rating. My room was close to the elevators, and the chime is audible at all hours. Would be nice if it didn't make a noise during the night and early morning. For me specifically, my view was that of a torn up parking lot and construction fencing. Again, does not bother me, I was not there to sit in my room and look upon anything. Just anticipating what another, pickier, guest might say. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Miami that isn't look for a great beach view! read more

InterContinental At Doral Miami - What's up from the 305?! - Hotels Near Me - Doral, Florida

Check-in was a breeze. The lobby was nice, with lots of light coming in from the huge windows and outdoor patio. I hung in the lobby on several occasions with others and found it very comfortable, with a nook for everyone: working, snoozing, waiting, eating, socializing, etc. I was told there was only double beds left, which was fine by me, since I could use very single pillow all to myself! My room was chilled, pleasing to the eye, and comfortable. I loved the white robe and slippers. My bathtub and shower looked clean and felt awesome. The sink and vanity had everything I needed to spread out and make myself at home for a few days. I used the luggage rack and the ironing board when needed. The desk was comfortable, though could use a few more usb ports or outlets; the desk lamp was plugged into the on-desk outlet strip (instead of a wall outlet), leaving only 1 free outlet. Same with the lamps on the table between the beds: plugged into the tabletop power strip instead of the wall, leaving only one outlet for guest use. Weird! Location-wise, this hotel is a short distance from some awesome and up-and-coming areas in Doral. Check-out was also simple. Overall, my experience was very pleasant and I would stay here again. However, I am leaving the following detailed feedback in hope someone on staff read this and my words can improve others' experiences. I found it odd/inconvenient/annoying that there was no printed materials explaining anything about the hotel amenities: nothing at check-in nor inside my room. I called the front desk to find out where some info was, and they told me to use the printed menu of QR codes to find out more info. Hadn't even noticed the tiny sign on the desk. I proceeded to look up the info from the QR codes, an unnecessarily tedious process of pulling up PDFs on my phone to merely discover basic things like: hours of the pool and exercise room. Please, InterContinental, at the bare minimum, add a bit.ly link to a website with basic info, so we could look that up on a laptop. Not everyone wants to read hotel info on their phone. The only info on the QR code for room service is the hotel restaurant menu, which lists regular prices. When my item came, the bill had a delivery charge and a tip already on it. How can a business charge additional charges without notification? The pdf from the QR code mentions NOTHING about these charges. When I called in my order, these charges were also not mentioned over the phone. Although the hotel dropped the charges in the end, this is a simple oversight to fix; there is no way I am the only person who has complained about this! The mini-fridge had a label on it explaining it could only be opened with a key. Not sure why this is on there because it was just an empty fridge which could be opened without a key. Another simple fix. For a hotel with no after-hours dining options, no grab-and-go hospitality areas (I really wanted some extra creamer in the early morning hours), and zero info on local food options/partnerships, the vending machine leaves a LOT to be desire, mainly the exorbitant $3.50 charge per item. I ended up ordering DoorDash directly to my hotel room, which was notably cheaper than the overpriced hotel restaurant, delivery charges, tip and all. read more

I stayed three nights at the Intercontinental Hotel At Doral on a recent vacation in Miami. I am originally from Miami but had moved to Ohio back in 2020. I came back partly to see some family I had not seen in years, but also because I was taking a 7 day Carnival Cruise out of the Port of Miami. I chose this hotel because I knew the Doral area and because I had plenty of IHG points to spend, to the point where all I paid while staying here was parking. I would recommend staying in this hotel if you are staying in Miami and especially the Doral area. The hotel is beautiful. Look at the pictures of the lobby, it is full of artwork. It really added character and charm to the hotel. This hotel has that in spades. Check out the pool area in the pictures I took! The pool area is also amazingly beautiful especially at night. I can tell you it's a great place to kick back and relax! The room are also both spacious and very comfortable. You will sleep like a baby; I know I did. The hotel is very close to Downtown Doral that is full of amazing restaurants. I do recommend, though, you take a Lyft or Uber if you are going to Downtown Doral as finding parking there is next to impossible. The hotel also has dining options within: The Nau Lounge and the Blue Matisse. The staff is also friendly, they make sure that you are satisfied with your stay. The business center also has several computers and a high-speed color printer, which came in handy as I needed to print out some luggage tags for my Carnival Cruise. Use of the business center is free, including printing. The only weakness of this hotel is their "gift shop". It is not a gift shop, it is a room with a microwave, a soda machine and a snack machine. Quite frankly considering how great the rest of the hotel is, its is pathetic what they have as a place to buy snacks. They should seriously consider putting in a real gift shop. This, though, is my only gripe about my stay. Considering how amazing the rest of the hotel is, it is a minor though obvious thing that needs to be corrected. All in all, it was a great stay and certainly a hotel I do recommend! read more

This hotel was very uncomfortable to stay in, I was coughing a lot whenever I walked the halls and downstairs and it reeked of mold. No filtered water anywhere, only plastic bottles of water. They didn't time my key properly, so it didn't work after a certain time, even though I was still checked in. They have no microwaves available for use. This is not a traditional intercontinental hotel. I would not recommend. read more

I've stayed at this hotel every time I'm in Miami and have never had any issues. It's a nice hotel with a great lobby and pool. They have a restaurant that all my coworkers rave about but I usually bring a meal prep so personally haven't tried it. Across the street is a small shopping center with some other convenient food options. The rooms have always been clean. There's a mini fridge, good size flatscreen tv, coffee maker, desk and lounge chair. I also like the soaps they provide. The staff have always been exceptionally friendly as well. read more

Right off the bat, I have to say one thing: there's no spa. Some of the websites that list this hotel say that there's a spa, there were even signs in the lobby mentioning as spa, but there's no spa. There is a fitness center and the option to have a masseurs come to your room, but it's not a full spa experience. I mention this because the idea of an onsite spa was one of the reasons I booked this hotel and I was let down when I found it wasn't quite true. That being said, this hotel was fine. I'm used to staying at the standard Marriot hotels and this one was a little bit better. The biggest plus for me was that the AC in the room wasn't a broken down window unit, but an actual central air system that didn't make a lot of noise. Other than that, everything else about the room was pretty standard. We ate at the hotel restaurant, and the layout was a little bit weird. There's a sign that displays the name of the restaurant and the longue, but does not specify where one starts and the other ends. As a result we ended up sitting in the longue area instead of the restaurant. We weren't the only ones as a few other guests made the same mistake. Otherwise, the food was really good. We also added the continental breakfast to our stay, and that was also like a slightly elevated version of what you get at cheaper hotels. The variety of options was fine, but the scrambled eggs were kinda bland and the mini waffles they had under the heat lamp were hard. I was bummed to learn that if I wanted pancakes or french toast it would be an extra charge, but they did offer to make custom omelets upon request. Overall, I don't regret staying here, but I wouldn't go out of my way to book this hotel again or recommend it to anyone else. Everything was just "fine" and for that level of quality, I don't think it justifies the price. read more

Recently stayed at the InterContinental at Doral Miami, which is located about 20 min from MIA and overall quite accessible in this respect. One thing to note, though, is that Miami is very spread out and this hotel is not in what one would consider downtown Miami. You can expect a 15-30 min travel time to get to different parts of downtown Miami so keep that in mind. If you're planning to stay in the Doral area, however, this is very conveniently located from cool areas such as the Doral Yard which is a collection of wonderful and hip restaurants. The hotel room itself was pretty standard. Nothing exceptional but nothing awfully detracting. The bed was comfortable so that was a big plus. My biggest complaint, however, had to do with the bathroom in my room. I'm not sure if it was the tub or the faucet but something related to my shower was causing huge puddles to build up on my bathroom floor and I would have to use up all my towels to clean it up. On top of that, I noticed a very damp and humid smell and feeling in the room which i can only attribute to this. The hotel did have a pool which we were allowed to use until the wee hours of the night which was fun. Of course we had to be very quiet due to how late we were out but it was generous of the hotel to let us hang out there and chill beyond what I'm used to as open hours at a hotel pool. read more

I recently planned a conference for my team and our hotel of choice was Intercontinental. I worked with Karen and Sonia and was able to get a great rate for our group of 24. We stayed three nights, and it was perfect. The hotel is clean, offers a shuttle service should you need to set that up, and has a bar in the lobby and a pretty large lobby and pool. As for my room, it was a super spacious layout with one king bed. This is definitely a great spot to stay for work, as the room has ample desk space and a reading chair area. While there aren't places to walk to from here, you are super close to all major highways and the two biggest Doral Destinations - Downtown Doral and CityPlace Doral! Shout out to the team for helping us have the most smooth stay. read more

I was in town for a work conference and this was the hotel that was chosen, and for what we needed it fit the bill to a tee. My situation was quite unique because I was the first to arrive, and my worst nightmare happened, they couldn't find my reservation. Our reservations were booked through a group so something happened and mine wasn't showing up. Luckily though, I had Lynette and the Karen find a solution and was able to check-in earlier and without hassle. I have to give a huge shout out to Lynette for her amazing customer service, hospitality, and she really helped take the stress out of a stressful situation. Lynette was the model of what 'above and beyond service' is! As for the room, it was pretty dated, especially the bathroom. The toilet didn't flush all that well, and the water pressure in the shower wasn't very strong, but it served it's purpose for the 3-night stay. I had a room with two double beds and they were super comfy and I had no issues resting at the end of the night. Since most of our work activities were located in Doral, this was a perfect location to get to/from places like the Shoma Bazaar and Doral Yard. In terms of being in proximity of the main Miami atttractions, it's a pretty far ways to go. Getting into Miami Beach from here is about 40+ minute drive, so if you are going to be spending most of your time there, it's probably better to book at their other location. read more

We stayed here for two nights while in Miami. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Parking was generally okay, but there was an event there one of the nights that made parking a challenge. While this hotel was right in the landing path of the airport, we could not hear the planes in our room. Huge plus for this hotel. There is one major complaint I had with this hotel being a hotel of this class. The "gift shop" was a closet size room with two vending machines - one for drinks and one for snacks. I walked around the property at night to get my miles in and felt relatively safe. read more

The new Matrix fully interactive machines are just the start (I ran through Italy and Argentina). Free weights, circuit machines, and yoga mats, oh my. What more do you need: a tread mill, elliptical, bikes. The orange infused water, bowl of fresh apples, and complimentary earbuds were thoughtful. If there was no hotel here, i would buy a membership- so clean. The rooms are ample, blah blah blah....and don't get me started on the restaurant/bar....Blue Matisse and Nau Lounge respectively. The food is spectacular and if you wait for happy-hour it's twice the value. This five-star hotel queen approves. I'm an Ambassador Diamond Elite member with IHG hotels & I was using 2 complimentary nights here, for my annual free weekend benefit. I got to my room & it was small, tight & uncomfortable... overlooking a parking lot & a busy, loud avenue. As I was lying in the bed & trying to take a nap, the hotel reception called & said that they needed to do construction in my room, & that I needed to change rooms. I decided that if I had to pack up my belongings & leave my room, I might as well leave the hotel, because I didn't like it; in addition to an uncomfortable guest room, their gym is small & lacks decent equipment, the pool isn't great & the club lounge is very small & without a club lounge vibe. When I went downstairs to the reception, they had a key for me to go into another room, but I told them that I wanted to check out of the hotel instead. At this point, the hotel said that they would have to penalize me $100 because they wouldn't be able to rent my room out to another guest, since it was already late in the afternoon. I didn't understand this reasoning, since I was told my room was not available for a guest &, therefore, I couldn't stay in it & I needed to collect my belongings & change rooms (This hotel didn't even offer assistance, in helping me to change rooms). I didn't agree with the $100 penalty & so I asked to speak with the manager, who still penalized me the $100. I didn't want to squabble over this chump change any longer, that this hotel was so desperately demanding from me. So, I told the staff to do whatever they had to do with my credit card on file, so that I could check out & leave this property -as a very dissatisfied & mishandled guest & I will dispute the charge later with IHG Hotels. I felt like I was being robbed & I wanted to be gone, from where the incident was taking place, as quickly as possible. I went to another hotel nearby, who took very good care of me. It was a Hyatt & I have much better luck with Hyatt Hotels that I do with IHG hotels. I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay here, at this Intercontinental in Doral, even though Doral is a very nice part of the Miami area. read more

I stayed here for a work conference and really enjoyed my stay. The front desk was very accomodating with things like holding my bags when I arrived early, a bottle of water on the way in or out, and things like that which make a stay more relaxing. The lobby was excellent for working or meeting a friend with a bunch of areas to lounge or get some laptops up time. After checkout on my last day I had nowhere to be until 5pm so I stayed and got work done in the lobby all day. The room was a little dated but overall very comfortable and had what I needed. The pool was excellent and I took advantage of having that available multiple times. A few people from our group went late one night as well and since we were quiet, nobody kicked us out. The most inconvenient thing was when I left, they charged me for a few extra days. There was a miscommunication on the list of rooms from my company, but I never asked to extend my room. I figured it would be an easy fix because it's simple to prove with key card times etc that I was definitely checked out of the hotel. After a couple of calls, I was getting the run around and they were hinting that I would be responsible for the whole bill. I deferred the issue to my manager who set up the room block and it got straightened out immediately, but it should have never needed to come to that when it was their mistake in the first place. read more

What a welcome back to the MIA! I recently stayed at the InterContinental at Doral during a work conference with a group of about 25 for just a few days. As a native South Floridian, I always expect that businesses in certain parts of Miami are going to be opulent and filled with the vibes we in the Sunshine state are known for. The InterContinental did not let me down in my visual expectations. Upon arrival, the doors open to this gorgeous interior lobby that looks right out upon the pool and pool deck. What a first impression. The hotel was actually packed with some professional folks on a conference (unlike us, in jeans and shorts LOL) but even the suits couldn't block the shine of the Florida sun beaming into the walkway. After I took in the sights a bit, I was ready to check in but unfortunately for me, I was about an hour early. I spoke to the young ladies at the desk and they were so kind and patient, although they couldn't get a room ready immediately, they worked to get me into a comfy space within 15 minutes. YES! I needed to chill out and ended up in a double bedroom shortly after. The room itself was pristine and spacious! I lovedddd the full-length mirror, so many hotels neglect mirrors and it's like - I would like to look upon the Lord's magnificent work when possible so, help me out! The barn doors to the bathroom and the comfy robe in the closet were such nice touches. I alwayssss sleep better in hotel rooms, it's so interesting to me when others don't because I'm like, baby! These linens are ITTTTT! When I'm sleeping in a hotel bed, I'm taken back to when I was a small child snuggling up in my bed without a hint of responsibility or bills - what a time. (And then I wake up to emails, texts, and a pandemic on my mind lol) I will say, I was surprised that there was only one restaurant and one bar onsite, *tears*. I think they would truly benefit from having another dining or drinking option, but I guess they figure that folks will want to go out and see the city vs. sitting indoors so, meh. BUT - I did dine at the in-hotel restaurant. Since I checked in early, I was starving post-flight and took the opportunity to have lunch at the Blue Matisse. I was the only person in the restaurant around noon, just the way I like it lol. I love solo dining, so I was incredibly comfy just sitting with my iPad streaming a movie and sitting in their beautiful, blue dining room. I was promptly greeted and ordered a dozen Blue Point oysters and their Spicy Ahi Tuna & avocado tartare. I'm an Oyster-lover and would literally eat them every single day if I could, so I won't lie, they're always going to be a win for me, lol. These were a little briny but not overwhelming, but incredibly fresh and plump. The Spicy Ahi Tuna was delicioussss, but not spicy at all lol. I don't like to be teased with the spice, like, don't be stingy! The avocado was a great pairing (but I think avocado goes with everything sooo....) and I enjoyed the wonton pairing, despite not usually loving wontons. They were so lightly fried and crunchy, that I was shoveling all that tuna tartare into my mouth with no apologies lol. My favorite parts of the hotel? The pool and the shuttle. I didn't get into the water this time because I surprisingly didn't bring one of my thousands of swimsuits for some reason, but I did get to hang out and chat with my coworkers by the pool, and what a vibe. It was gorgeous and spacious and the team was so kind not to kick us out after dark, lol! Also incredibly grateful to the shuttles because ubers add up!! With us having a large group, it was really great that we could go downstairs and just hop onto the shuttle care of the hotel. Definitely a new fan of the InterContinental brand! read more

Great business hotel in Doral. If you're flying in, it's convenient and a short drive from MIA. It's also a few minutes' drive from Downtown Doral. I had a great stay here - the room was well appointed and mostly everything was sturdy, clean, and up to date. Comfortable bed and bedding, soft sheets. There was a desk and computer chair in the room, along with a couch chair. Plenty of power and USB sockets to hand, too. The A/C worked well and kept the room nice and fresh. There was also a mini fridge - it was a little loud at first but I turned it to the lower setting and it quieted down and still kept my drinks cold. The bathroom was great, lots of fluffy towels and the shower had strong water pressure. The lobby area is big and airy, plenty of room to meet up with a group. The shuttle also took our group to and from downtown which was quick and comfortable. Despite being in the flight path, I didn't hear any outside noise. Recommended! read more

Cons: Our room had hot water issues where it didn't even last 5 minutes. Maintenance came in twice to try and fix it but didn't matter. There was also a language barrier in trying to explain that we didn't want to be bothered in fixing the shower till we checked out since we had to get ready to leave. He didn't understand so he went ahead with it while we sat and waited for him to finish. Pros: the room was spacious and clean. Beds were comfy enough to sleep through the night read more

Hotels are a tough review. The Intercontinental is a pretty consistent hotel all around. You will pay a lot. But you get what you pay for. In the grand scheme of things, when it comes down to a stipulation like that, I compare across the board. The rooms are extremely clean and are done in a timely manner. The front desk staff is extremely accommodating and friendly when you come in. The room is really good. But on similar hotel types, nothing over the top. Again, not a bad thing. Just judging off of a base level. The hotel bar was very nice. And all of the amenities looked great and would be if you needed them. The only downfall is needing to go to the front desk for ice. I like wearing my robe and getting ice on my floor. But now I sound very bougie. All of that said, I loved my stay here. I could not recommend enough if it fits your price/location criteria. A few changes I could make compared to other similar style spots could be applied. But that is only splitting hairs on what I would say was a 4.5 star review. read more

I get it, it's hard to find employees right now. That being said, when a problem arises and you are asked to remedy it "Antonio" don't just shrug your shoulders repeatedly saying, "I don't know" and, "just wait until the morning to talk to a manager." From the check in process until I got in the VERY underwhelming room I was disappointed. I finally just turned around and demanded my money back. Do yourself a favor and save $50 and get WAY more for your money by staying at the new/clean/better appointed holiday inn express a few miles down the road. read more

I have in been in this Hotel twice. I love to go to this place and they also have free parking. Wonderful, ample, and impeccable lobby, decorated in a modern style. The service is always great. The ballroom where I went for a meeting/dinner I had, was good. With nice A/C, comfortables seats, accessible restrooms, and the best food. We had their sliders, onion rings, wines, Greek salads, and so much more. Everything was really good. Thank you! read more
