So when having to board your dog for the first time ever makes it really tough and difficult to not only leave your dog but find an establishment that you can trust with your beloved canine. But here at fancy pets I can say without a doubt we know our dog was taken care of and loved. We left him for 3 days and 2 nights during New Year's Eve weekend. Luckily my sister in law left her dog here as well so he had a familiar face! What's great about fancy pets is they provide beds, bowls, and even a suite for your dog to sleep in. Yet the best thing of all is if you follow their Facebook page you will get to see daily pics of your dog outside playing at least 2-3 times a day!! If and when we have to board our dog again it will be an easy choice to leave him here !!

One of the items I thought was great was prior to allowing your dogs to stay at their location, they see if your dogs interact "well" with other dogs. I recommend the dog cleaning prior to you bringing them home with you. :) I wish they had an outdoor space for the dogs to run outside and get some despair (I believe they are working on this??). I loved the option of clipping our dogs nails; easy and efficient (10.00 for mail clipping and 15.00 for grinding). It is quick and easy to drop her off and pick her up after lunch. I drop her off 8:30-9 am. And most days Joe has her done by noon. The shop is very clean and neat. The shop is right on Park avenue and very easy to get to. Parking in front of the house or on the street is available. The shop is close to downtown Sanford and the dog park. I tried them with Leo my 27 pound cat and they did an amazing job. He is happy. Then came the time for Coco 24 pounds but a little bit of a tiger. Even vet treatment is done with anesthesia. This place got her done and she's a different cat. It took three groomers but she is now a happy cat. No anesthesia or pills.

Our Irish Setter has been groomed here multiple times, yet the services have consistently felt lazy and inconsistent. Most recently, the grooming job was extremely poor, as shown in the photos. Despite our dog having an established "file" and us communicating our instructions directly to the groomer, we were later told it was still our responsibility to ensure everything was explained again. After we called to express our concerns, they asked us to send photos as evidence of the grooming. Following an investigation and conversations with both the owner and store manager, they admitted the groom was not up to their standards and apologized, which we did appreciate. What was disappointing, however, was the resolution they offered. Instead of refunding the service, they offered a discount on a future appointment. That felt presumptuous, considering this experience left us with little confidence in trusting them to groom our dog again. They also mentioned that, if we returned, they would make sure a groomer who "specializes in setters" handled him next time. This was frustrating to hear because our dog has been groomed there multiple times already, and that option was never previously mentioned.
