Lawyer set up meeting, I rearranged work, drove 60 mile round trip and paid for downtown parking only to wait over an hour. An assistant finally came out and asked what I needed?! I explained I was requested to come to "discuss legal stragegies". Basically was told 2nd hand "I remember that case, nothing legally we can do." That is fine, law is the law. When I recieved an apology email, the lawyer literally said "I completely spaced our meeting". Said she would send documents and would like to help me with other aspects of my case. Stated she would drive to me and meet at a coffee shop the very next week. That was 3 weeks ago and no word ever again. I guess their mission is noble, but you get what you pay for with this "free" legal service. I hate to recomend a paid lawyer because I know a lot of people cannot afford it, but I have never been stood up by a paid lawyer. They asked if they could refer me to another legal agency to help get legislation passed. I agreed and waited for contact. After a week I contacted this agency and was told no referral had been recieved.

It seemed that from the manager to her staff, they don't want to see the kids laugh and play with each other happily. It is a small place and security seems to be very good because no stranger can come to that 3rd floor, only staff can escort clients with their cards. However, they make it a PRISON. They expect mothers to cook and feed children and clean and do all the neccessary chores but also ask these mothers to follow all their kids ALL THE TIME. They do provide private rooms for us to live in but they open it every morning to check, which makes the privacy nonsense. They asked us to live neat and clean which is good, however they warned to kick us out of the place by letters every time they saw my room is messy, not as what they said that they give time to clean before warning. (3 letter warnings make us be kicked out) A single working mom with little kids must be perfect to live in this place because she has no right to be alone in any moment, no right to take care of themselves without kids crying by your ears and cannot let the house messy. The staff said that they would help look after the kids for single moms when they need, but in fact they NEVER help. The staff, who always tried to be very strict on us, spent 99% of their working time using computer even in the dark (which is very harmful for her eyes). Sad. You'll have only 45 days to stay in that place if you speak up. If you're lucky (because you have big kids!?), they keep you until you get housing. Good luck.

The church itself was very inviting as it has a very heartwarming feel. The congregation welcomed us with open arms. The Homily by the priest was moving and reflects God's teachings. Sadly I didn't get the priest's name. We will definitely stop by and hear mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church again when visit the Seattle area this year.

I was impressed totally by the openness, honesty and hope that I perceived from the congregation. I didn't sense any pretense or superficiality in the welcome I received, but more importantly, I sensed genuine hope and care between the people there. It was totally refreshing, especially when living in an urban environment where sometimes people are distant or removed. They cared, and they showed it, as I noticed from their homeless outreach program. I joined the choir in the fall of 2007 (tenor section rules!) and found a home with the choir. Great music, and fun people to be around made the experience a lot of fun! The most sincere and beautiful outpouring of this group, and the choir in particular, came about in the spring of 2008 when they supported my partner and me so warmly before and after he passed away in April '08 at only 37 years of age. Their care, prayers, and presence was more beautiful than words can explain. So, I became a member of the curch (officially!) on October 19, 2008 and haven't turned back since! I've found additional ways to explore my faith by joining a Bible study group, and am participating on committees/teams that help get things done by serving the congregation and our neighbors. Who would have thought I'd get this involved with church??!! :) To me, First Church is a refuge in a busy city, a safe place to find out more about who I am and to learn how I can make a positive difference in the world around me.

Pink tags were 1/2 off and unlike the stores in Reno, they don't take pink tags off the racks before the sale! There are fitting rooms, and it's all very clean and organized. This is a well-oiled machine here. Home goods side, with furniture, and for that alone I wish I had a UHAUL truck backed up. My cousin spent $150 and I spent about $75 and we spent about 3 hours there. Easily could have spent all day, but it was a thrifting kind of day, so we hit several stores the same day. Took away a star because they don't allow you to use their restrooms anymore. We would have spent more time and money, but they closed their bathrooms to the public (stupid).

It's almost a home depot sized goodwill. I came back for during a 2nd trip to Seattle. Huge parking lot! Can also get there via public transportation (bus stop nearby). The staff often brings out new clothes and there are fitting rooms! You do have to leave your personal bag outside the fitting room door and there's an employee who will watch them for you (trying to prevent theft).

They say they are a Godly place but they fired the church that was coming in and devotion is done my the staff which are hypocritical. Did they give me a place to sleep, shower yes, but it came at a very high price. It's all about the money, you say you're moving out and they will find a way to kick you before that happens making it harder for you. They want to work but around their schedule not yours. Currently at the Indian center and it's a night and day difference. They actually help people not just say it like UGM. Just be forewarned, UGM is NOT a Christian based program, I can promise that.
