I have had massages at some of the most expensive spas in the US and this one was among the best I've ever had! We booked too late to get the morning student massages, but were offered more expensive massages with therapists who had graduated and were licensed. Carolyn and Eliza relaxed us and gave us amazing massages. I was a bit worried it would be hot as there is no A/C, but with a fan on, the room was a comfortable temperature and the lack of A/C was no issue for us. Called on a Monday hoping to get in that day but they were booked until Wednesday. Scheduled appointments over the phone with no problem. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by friendly and welcoming people. Everything felt very comfortable and relaxed. My masseuse was Nicole. She did a fantastic job with exactly the right pressure I like. The massage room was very small but once she got started that didn't matter. The oil used was very neutral and no hint of fragrance. I went to this academy with my friend who has been going to this academy for a while. I chose a semi-deep pressure (which is something I am used to and typically go for) with a student. The massage was great but the masseuse went a little too hard on my glute area. My friend and I rebooked for two weeks later as she typically does. The next day I woke up in pain & had a bruise - I've been in pain since, which I found out is an unusual form of sciatica caused from a nerve injury rather than piriformis tightness or a disc pressing on the nerve. Just my luck - the first time I visit a student academy after massages my whole life?! I am also a 25 year old who is healthy & fit. This was caused 2 months ago now. I did go back to the academy to follow through with the massage appointment I had made in hopes that it might help - it didn't. I even worked with the woman who had hurt me because I wanted to offer her the opportunity to face what occurred and learn from it. After the massage and me not feeling any different than before, Eliza offered to waive the fee and to work on my herself the following week if I still wasn't better. When I called to set-up a time she said she couldn't fit me in that week (understandable), but didn't offer to fit me into her schedule the following week and blew me off. At this time it had been 3 weeks of being in pain and I was waiting on my MRI and to have nerve tests done to find out the cause of the sciatica. It was clear she was in denial that this injury happened at her clinic. I recognize that this is an uncomfortable situation, and it sucks! Yet I've been the one dealing with the consequences which have severely altered my mobility & quality of life. I have no doubt this will heal - but it could take many months. Anyways, what troubles me the most is that a couple weeks later after what was causing my sciatica was confirmed, I emailed her to let her to let her know what the results were and to express that I was disappointed with her level of professionalism and that she didn't follow through with her commitment to work on me. From Eliza there was no compassion, or apology in recognition of what had occurred. She wants to sweep this under the rug and pretend it didn't happen, but it did, in her academy. She could have handled it in a way where I wouldn't have felt the need to leave a review, because, honestly, I don't care to but I feel it would be wrong of me not to at this point. I wouldn't recommend this academy to anyone, and as Eliza said herself, "We recognize that our school is not always the right fit for everyone." So beware, the owner of this clinic is not who everyone thinks she is and has some things to figure out! read more

They were able to get me into a cancelation appt right away, which was fantastic because my right shoulder had been bothering me for weeks. The massage therapist was very attentive and focused on the areas I requested. The massage room was quiet and the table was comfortable for a massage school. The only negative was it was pretty humid in the room because it was warm and humid outside. However, the therapist tried to make me comfortable with a fan and by uncovering my feet. She was great, and the school is a good value. It was only $40 for an hour, compared to $120-$160 for only 50mins elsewhere on the island. Amazing deal! read more

What a great concept that benefits both customer and student! The school is small and totally personable with easy instruction for all ages and backgrounds. Angela Leslee, founder, has been certified for two decades and a qualified instructor for fifteen years, and provides all the anatomy information with great routines that each student can easily adapt for their own unique massage techniques. Even those who don't go to spa work gain a new understanding and skill that they can use privately and with friends and family. Good massage for a very good price. Since its a school and the masseuses are students, you would think they would ask for feedback on their massages when finished, but they don't. Other massage schools request you fill out a feedback form, or speak to the teacher or therapist when finished, here you don't. There are some issues with appointments being double booked and them not answering their phone during business hours and its a ways to drive, but overall, a positive experience and I will be back. read more
