I've been taking hula, belly dance, and the occasional yoga class at this studio for the past few months and it's been a blast. This studio has such a positive, welcoming vibe. Myriam is incredibly knowledgeable about dance and yoga and her attention to detail is what makes this place so special. The studio is clean, organized, and there is a seating area and children's play room for those who are waiting. Anyone of any dance skill level is welcome to join. There is a wide age range in the classes I am taking, so if you feel like you're too young or too old to join, don't worry! There are even children's classes. I recently got the chance to see Myriam with her children's hula class and she is kind and patient with the little ones. They clearly adore her and have fun being part of the group. If you join the dance classes you have the option to participate in the occasional performance. I recently joined the hula and Tahitian classes at our performance at the Tempe Aloha Festival. It was so much fun! It was a great chance to see what the other classes have been doing and even though I've only been doing hula for a short while I felt confident performing with my classmates. Myriam had her own Tahitian solo where she displayed just how much of an expert she is at her art. The yoga class that I have gone to a few times is the Core Yoga class. For me, yoga can be a bit boring, especially when the instructor has you doing the same poses each time. Not this class. Every time I have attended we have done completely different poses. Consistently, my core is sore the next morning, which is exactly what I want. Props and mats are provided so if you want to drop in for a one off class you don't need to worry about not having the right equipment. Last but not least, the pricing... it can't be beat. If you sign up for the automatic payment I believe the price of each class is a little less than $10 a session. That is an incredibly fair cost especially for the quality of the teaching that you will receive. There are also organic beauty products and clothing and accessory items for sale if you are looking for a gift. I can't say enough good things about Aloha Yoga and Hula. When you attend a class at the Aloha studio you will walk into one of the two the classrooms and be transported to a serene beachfront seascape. You can't help but relax and feel motivated in this space. They also offer organic skincare products and a wide variety of holistic services such as aromatherapy massages, facials, reiki balancing, and hypnotherapy. This studio not only exercises your mind and body, but it feeds your soul. You can tell that the owners truly love what they do and care about you as an individual. Aloha was the first yoga studio that I have attended and I refuse to practice anywhere else. I was suggested to try yoga for my PTSD and depression; coming to Aloha has literally been a life saving experience for me. From the moment you walk in the front door you feel the serenity of the space and feel very much "at home". The instructors and other students are all very welcoming and non-judgmental. They offer a wide variety of classes for all ages and skill levels so even if you are a beginner like I was, there are plenty of opportunities for you to practice and advance your skills. I have also tried the Hula/Tahitian classes for something fun and different to bring me back to my dance roots. The classes are a blast and a great workout as well! Miriam is very knowledgeable and passionate for the art of hula and the Hawaiian culture and it resonates in her teachings. This studio is my place of calm and solitude and a is wonderful place to recharge your batteries to and grow your mind, body and soul. This place is glorious!!! Where to begin... The studio: it's beautiful, it's clean, it's peaceful and well-equipped! The instructors: I've taken 3 classes so far with Myriam, the owner, including Intro to Hula, Belly Dance & Tahitian and they've all been great! She is amazing! She takes time to practice the different moves and teaches you ways to loosen the right muscles to ... well... dance accurately! & gracefully. She is also genuinely friendly and when I couldn't come to class because of surgery she offered to help if I needed anything! She is a professional and has been involved in many styles of dance since I think age 4. She is now "21" ;) On the note of 21, she looks 21 and leads a really healthy live style which she teaches without forcing it down anyone's throats. Proof: I still eat tonnes of unhealthy food :) She also owns her own Organic Skin care line which smells delicious! The cost: Really good, considering literally every class I have ever signed up for in the valley! Performances: It is not mandatory if you take the class, but you should check out any of her group dances at the Aloha fest every Spring in Tempe to see the results of taking the class! I first visited Aloha Yoga on a 2 week trial pass to kind of learn about the different types of classes. I was a total, inflexible, yoga newbie. I have always been a little bit intimidated by yoga (my exercise is usually solo and gym-based), but as soon as I walked in all of that just fell away. I pick places based on "vibes" mostly and Aloha has a great one. The staff is very welcoming and inclusive. The instructors could tell I was new and did little things to help me out and made me feel like I could easily learn the yoga language. The aromatherapy oils they use are amazing! I found some classes I loved and tried some that I didn't like - but that was the point: to learn. My goals were to learn how to relax my mind and body to deal with stress without medication and it really helped a lot. Yoga is part of my wellness routine now. While I was there I learned about their summer camps for kids and my daughter went for one week. She had a great time and is asking to do more yoga classes now (she's 6). I think it's great that they have kids' classes because I've noticed that my kids have a hard time relaxing their minds and meditating and this is something that they need to learn. read more

I decided i needed a change in my life, something positive, that was mine, for me, that helped me feel good and something to look forward to. I stumbled across aloha yoga and hula. I saw the tahitian dance and even find videos of myriam the owner and her mission. I knew right away this was what i needed. I showed up, never having any dance experience and was welcomed. The ladies in the class welcomed me to the tahitian sisters, and helped me get up to speed on the dance moves. I had so much fun because i felt comfortable and unjudged.it was an amazing workout, but more than that i felt fulfilled. I found a passion. My next class i had a horrible day, then fought traffic just to get there 15 min late and, when i showed up everyone was excited to see me back, it made my day. My 5 year old daughter's words summarizes our experience at Aloha Yoga and Hula: "Happiness!" This is what she expresses after class: "Mom every time I go to my Hula class, I feel happy!" My daughter started attending Hula classes in October of 2015, and by January 2016, Ms. Myriam the owner, had the girls ready to perform at a Multicultural Festival which helped my daughter get out of her 'shy shell'. The confidence that my shy 5 yr. old has gained by learning to express herself through Hula, is invaluable. Ms. Myriam is a very caring, and knowledgeable teacher. She begins her class by reading them a cultural related book, followed by teaching them about the instruments, the language, and culture in relationship with the dance moves. I have been going to Aloha Yoga and Hula for almost a year now. I have enjoyed every second of my classes there. I've attended Hula, Tahitian, and Belly dance classes--and cannot express the joy these classes and the performance opportunities have afforded me. The studio, owner, teachers, and staff have always treated me as more than a client; they have treated me as family. Additionally, Aloha Yoga and Hula have exceptional natural products for hair and skin care that I have begun to use and (because they are so exceptional) I also give as gifts to my friends and colleagues. I've been wanting to try Hula dancing for the longest time and after taking my first Hula class from Myriam at Aloha Yoga and Hula I was immediately hooked! The studio is gorgeous with a tropical vibe, the classes are affordable and Myriam, the owner, is amazing. At my first class the other students were very welcoming and supportive, especially if you are new to Hula and/or if you have never danced before, which made my experience even better. Myriam is the sweetest instructor and is extremely knowledgeable about all she teaches. Believe it or not, Hula is one heck of a workout, even if you need low impact exercise like I do with a bad knee and a hip issue. This studio is great! I've taken one yoga class here and it was wonderful! Even though I'm not an active yoga student, the classes are always full! I started coming here at the beginning of the year for Hula and Tahitian dance classes! I love being a part of both troupes and Myriam is a great instructor, but not only that, she is a wonderful person! She definitely has the spirit of aloha in her heart. It makes me happy going to class every week and being with all of the wonderful people I've met! I drive almost an hour there and back to attend these classes, because I love them so much and couldn't imagine not having them in my life! Wow!!! What a great place! So much to chose from in your fitness journey. The instructors are top notch and very caring too I just started yoga 7 months ago with my first classes at a local gym. I never dreamed of joining a studio but stumbled across Aloha Yoga & Hula from an open house in June. I knew I really liked yoga so thought I would give it a try since they had such a generous introduction offer and I figured I wouldn't be out too much if things didn't work out.... Well my real yoga journey began there!!! I fell in love with yoga because of the exposure to so much more for my practice to expand! I signed my teenage daughter and 2 of her friends for the intro to Hula & Tahitian class. The girls had a blast! One of the girls didn't even know how to dance in the beginning but Myriam made her feel very comfortable with the break down of each dance. After the intro class, we continue driving over 30 miles one way for Hula and would eventually like to add Tahitian. The business is beautifully decorated. I have always felt welcomed. It has a cute little retail area with natural products. I've purchased and used the natural shampoo & conditioner.....amazing and it smells so good. The only bad thing I have to say is....I live too darn far from the location, but we make it a point to visit once a week for Hula class. read more

The Studio-- Excellent!!!.... The Kumu-- Fantastic, passionate & caring!!!! What else could you ask for, especially after a long tiring day at work.. The studio is so tidy, clean, & always smells so good! The effort of them putting this studio together was exceptional. Everyone is so nice and this includes the students that I have met when I joined in a month & a half ago. I like Miriam as a teacher... she basically enforces the right way of how to dance... from the angles of lifting or brushing those feet, on to have your torso/body the right way. All I can say is I'm just so glad that I had signed up with her. Its a long drive, but worth it!!!! Just wishing classes could be longer! read more

I wanted to share how impressed I was with Aloha Yoga & Hula. My daughter wanted to take yoga- I had researched so many studios, and am so glad I picked them. The owner was so passionate and helpful. She made my daughter feel so welcome! The studio was clean and the floor is amazing (it looks like ocean water). They offer a variety of classes from beginner to advanced and have different times for anyone's schedule. The instructors are so patient and kind and my daughter loves it! LOVE IT! I am so happy to have found this place, especially so close to my home. Myriam, the owner is so kind and wonderful. I have been to a variety of classes and loved them all. Great workouts, good for any level too. All of the instructors are very kind and have their unique styles. I like that there is consistency in overall theme of classes however no two classes are the same. I always leave feeling refreshed and grounded. Sidenote: Myriam makes her own facial cleansers and I just purchased the anti acne wash and am really loving how it makes my face feel! I've been going to Aloha Yoga and Hula for a little over 3 years. Myriam is the owner and I took her "Intro to Yoga" class. It's so much less intimidating to learn the basic poses and she will help you modify poses and ensure that you won't hurt yourself. I love the variety of classes and the times really work with my schedule. I love yoga and wish I would have started practicing earlier in my life. It's so relaxing but still a workout. The studio is beautiful, peaceful and Myriam treats you like family. It's my go to "happy" place. I feel calmer and so much less stressed than ever before. Truly life changing!! read more

I so enjoy the studio and all of the classes offered. Myriam, the owner, is an excellent teacher as are the other instructors. Variety of classes from restorative to Vinyasa to Cardio Vinyasa for all ages ( children to 55+). Hula classes are also offered for children and adults. The studio environment reminds me of Maui where I lived for several years. Aromatherapy and neck massage at the end of the Myriam's yoga classes are a special touch. Summer camp for the children offers hula, yoga and many creative activities. I highly recommend for the whole family! read more

I'm brand new to yoga, and I've been going once or twice per week for the last 3 weeks. My neck issues went away after the first class of Restorative Yoga. I'm now taking Yoga Basics and the changes I've felt in my body have been incredible! Each week I get a little bit stronger. Myriam and her staff are wonderful - so caring, kind and patient!! Myriam offers a wide range of classes for different levels and there are multiple instructors so they definitely have variety. She also throws in fun things like challenges, or contests to keep things interesting. The studio itself is gorgeous, just stepping into there makes me feel so serene and like I'm about to do yoga by the waters of a white sandy beach. I only recently began practicing yoga when a friend convinced me to come here with her, and now I can't imagine going anywhere else!! Highly recommend it. read more

Aloha Yoga has the most beautiful and inspiring studio I have ever seen! I have enjoyed every yoga class I have taken there. The teachers are wonderful and I always feel like I am walking on a cloud when I leave class. I have made a lot of improvement in my practice because Myriam has taught and encouraged me so much! The classes make me feel relaxed, rejuvenated and inspired all at the same time! My daughter has done the hula summer camp two years in a row and has loved it!
