The map of the corn maze. Take a picture before heading in!

My wife and I were on a fall kick, and decided to go out to this seemingly "fall megaplex" out near Yadkinville, NC for some old fashioned field fun. Unfortunately for us, but to no fault of this place, it was an unseasonably hot day, and this place is as exposed as it gets. This place definitely caters mainly to kids with their activities, and this rating is what I would give it if I envisioned myself as a parent wanting to tire out a bunch of kids for the day. As adults, there were a few curiosities, but overall we were kind of bored. We took a walk through the corn maze. Do yourself a favor and take a picture of the posted layout before going in so you can consult the map once you get tired of wandering and mostly get your bearing to make your way out. There are emergency exits if you find yourself lost and tired of trying. We did pretty well working through it without the map, but eventually consulted it to get out sooner. Also, beware the corn husks, when they are dry and dead, they are sharp. From there we made a lap around the complex. The stuff we encountered was mostly kids only, things like pony rides and bounce balloons. We could not get close enough to pet the horses. From there there were some old fashioned skill test games. I've always been a fan of the one where you hit it with a hammer and if strong enough ring the bell at the top, still got it in that regard. The school aged kids around were in awe of my accomplishment. From there, targets for baseballs/softballs, swinging tires for footballs, basketball hoops provided a 15 minute distraction. No prizes available but also no cost to play. Moving forward you get to the main attraction here for adults, and that is the pumpkin cannon, a supercharged air cannon that appears to be made out of an old army grade howitzer. There is a range and targets to shoot at, if you hit the distant mini-van on a raised platform you get a free ticket to return. It costs $5 for 3 mini pumpkins to fire. It's fun, but after 3 shots it becomes apparent you don't have any real control over where the pumpkin goes, as each shot is different since all pumpkins are different. They curve in different ways and fire at different velocities based on how they fall into the loading chamber. Our first shot was "the closest all day" to hitting the van according to the attendant. Our next two shots didn't fly nearly as well as the first. After that, just some photo opportunities and more rides designed for kids. There was axe throwing available for a charge, but we'd rather do that at one of the bars that have opened up with it. End of the day, unless you are a tiny person with a child-like heart, or have kids, it probably isn't worth the $10 admission. At least you will be supporting your local farmers as the growing season winds down!

We came out for a Family fall outing. It was an extremely hot day for October. This place is wide open and doesn't have much shade. But it's so wonderful for the family events! The admission was $12 and had lots of old fashion games, such as pumpkin chucking, axe throwing, pits of corn, train rides for kids and a wagon ride through the pumpkin patch. We enjoyed the corn maze. I highly recommend taking a photo of the map before hiking the maze. It's pretty epic! They have lots of photo options for you to get memories with your families, which is so wonderful! Head out and enjoy a day at the farm! I did hear they will be having a Christmas wonderland, be on the look out!

Me and my 19months old had a blast at this farm. He ride a pony, got in a horse wagon, jump in the brincolin, got in the corn pit and saw baby pigs racing. Such a good place.

Super cute family friendly fall farm!! (Go alliteration). We had a field trip both this year and last and both were awesome! We love this place. Friendly and welcoming staff and so very much to do for the cover charge. The food is excellent and affordable. It's only a 1/2 hour drive from Winston Salem and every bit worth the quick trip. I highly recommend checking them out this fall.

We arrived about 1:30pm on a Saturday afternoon. The parking area had a dozen or so cars. We proceeded to the covered barn and were immediately greeted by the family. The young man was friendly and efficient, we also learned that veterans receive free admission which was a welcome surprise, very nice touch! We also learned they have swag including shirts, baseball hats, stickers and decals. They were selling Colts signature honey and Carolina Gold oils made from sunflowers. They were down to their last bottle of garlic oil so they set it aside for us. We grabbed a bucket which was already equipped with cutters for us to cut our own sunflowers. The back field was where we were headed and the casual stroll back was enjoyable. There are beautiful flowering bushes and flower fields along the way and I was able to capture several cool pics with butterflies as well. The sunflower field was beautiful and we immediately began taking pictures. We commented that we should have brought the drone to capture the farm. We ended up cutting eight sunflowers to take home and arrange. Once up at the covered barn area they wrapped the sunflowers up and we selected our various swag items. Very cool local family business. We asked and they told us this is their sixth year. Support local and enjoy the beauty of Dogwood Farms.

When we went to get our poppies, we were given 1 bucket and 1 pair of scissors (why wouldn't we get two since we paid for two?). Then, when we wen to pay for our poppies, they simply wrapped them in a paper and rubberband. I asked, "Could you put a wet papertowel on those?" The lady was curt and said, "They'll be fine til you get home." Well, they weren't fine. They were wilted and looked sick. I enjoy supporting my local community, however, these people couldn't care any less about you or your poppies.

I bought a gallon bucket of their strawberries and they are hands down THE BEST strawberries I have ever had. So sweet and juicy!! Staff informed me they sell all kinds of produce as it comes in season and raved on their melons and blackberries. I've been telling people to go up and take their kids because they have so many fun activities for the entire family along with selling cooked food items. The gallon bucket of strawberries were under $20 and for that price they are a good deal. I've been to some other berry farms in my area and they are charging more for berries half as good. This is THE place for family "fall" activities! We picked a pumpkin from the patch, we picked fresh apples, we did the slides and swings and saw animals. We did the corn maze. We rode a "train" pulled by a tractor, played in the dirt, on the various playgrounds, played in a little barn... the list goes on. This place is a child's dream for a day of NC fall fun - and we all had a blast! Going forward, this will be a yearly fall destination!

There's lots of land, two protected flower tends and a beautiful room inside, which can host a small intimate but beautiful event. The inside space is clean and well-maintained and even the bathrooms are comfy and cozy. One of the owners Julia accompanied by her assistant Kendell showed me around and told me all about blackberry Ridge Farm. Blackberry Ridge Farm is a CBD and hemp farm where they harvest these herbs to make natural products as well as a cut flower farm. Speaking of cut flowers, while I was there, I saw customers picking up the most beautiful cut flower arrangements. They also have a large selection of dried flowers which we intern used to create beautiful, decorative heart-shaped wreaths. If you are looking for a small, intimate place to host a gathering or a place to do a hands-on, creative event with your friends, family or coworkers give blackberry Ridge Farms a call they've got you covered.
