Dude wants to give my iPad back with NO screen and give me the $260 back. I said no. Give me what I paid for which is an iPad with a fixed screen or provide me with a new iPad. Bigger scam than a pyramid scheme. What a joke this place is. Do yourself a favor and build a nice fire in your backyard. Then take the crispiest dollar bills you have and throw them in the fire. That will have been a better use for your money than spending it here. Brought my iPhone in several weeks ago for a simple screen replacement. Dropped it off no problem, "I'll have it done in about 40 minutes." So I return about 45 minutes later only for him to tell me "I've replaced the screen but it restarts when I make phone calls, but I'll keep working to see if I can fix it." Flash forward an hour, he essentially tells me he can't fix said unknown issue HE CAUSED. Mind you I grew up only miles away but am a college student living two hours away now. It's no easy hike through the woods to get there. I left frustrated and cheated as I paid $70 and my phone now had a bigger problem than before. Come to find out only minutes after leaving, the problem is far worse than I thought. My phone would restart if I touched certain spots on my screen, if I changed brightness, and pressed volume buttons on top of randomly doing it regardless of touching anything. This made my phone nearly inoperable for three weeks before I go back. Three weeks after the initial visit, I walk in and he immediately recognizes me yet was "surprised" when I explained the issue that was well established last time. Tells me it's probably a circuit board issue, that they don't do that here. So I tell him to replace my screen again to see if that somehow fixes the still unexplainable issue. An hour later I return for him to tell me, "Oh I would've called but I don't have a way to reach you. I had to order a part before I could fix it. They're on there way." No matter. Losing my patience but what's more waiting? The part is delivered and after 10 minutes, comes out and tells me "the new screen wouldn't take so I put the old one back on." Blatant lie to avoid doing his job. Tells me I probably just need a new phone then offers to sell me one AFTER BREAKING MINE. I've had this phone for 2 years and 5 months and never once have I hadan issue like this until coming here. If you've made this far, another thing worth mentioning is the absurd operating hours. Just take a look yourself. Closed Tuesdays and Sunday. Open for only several hours all the other days. Update: Chuck here probably just took more time cherry-picking for a rebuttal than fixing my phone. In two visits, never once was water damage or corrosion mentioned or even hinted. I will say again, never once had an issue with my phone until I brought it here. read more

I brought in a working laptop w/a hairline crack in the touchscreen for a screen replace and battery refresh and the owner returned the computer to me as a brick, with a new replacement screen that he cracked that wouldn't even light up, and it won't power on anymore. He texted me in the midst of repairs that after putting in the screen and a new battery, it suddenly powered down and would not come on anymore. I spent time and effort over several weeks to first investigate the cause of the power problem before saying he caused it, and have waited another several weeks to give him every chance to respond, but he has stonewalled me. He refuses to discuss or respond via email or letter. When I picked it up, he did not offer any compensation or to help have it fixed or replaced, saying it was a coincidence and would have failed anyway. He also complained when I picked it up about the fact that he was out the money on the screen that he himself broke and on the time that he would not be able to charge me, which in my opinion is extremely unprofessional. Despite being upset at the loss of my laptop, not knowing what had happened I reserved judgment and remained courteous. I have taken it elsewhere and been given an opinion by 3 manufacturer authorized technicians in 2 unrelated shops as to why it is not powering on anymore. There is now a broken battery connector which has been snapped off the motherboard, meaning the motherboard cannot regulate power. It needs a new motherboard. I want to emphasize that both shops were NOT trying to get the business of doing repairs, they both told me the motherboard is too expensive, repairs are not worth it and I should just replace the computer. (2 years old, i7, 512gb SSD, 16gb RAM, 2-in-1 HD touchscreen). See photo with broken part inside, power connector, it's no longer soldered to the motherboard. I was told this results when someone goes to replace the battery and does not unlock the connector by sliding it first as required on this model. I was also told that if this connector had been already broken prior to taking it in to Alpha Computer for screen replacement, the power would not have been working. Nobody else has worked on the computer; the power was working fine when I left the computer in the shop; and surely if this soldered on part was already broken off the motherboard, the owner of Alpha would've contacted me when he opened it up before working on it. Alpha Computers owner has not once responded to address the broken connector or to the photo evidence. Should anyone reading this think, like "the friend" of the owner who messaged me, that "the other technicians lied", what is the motive since both shops said repairs were too costly and I should just replace the laptop. This theory also ignores the fact the owner surely would've messaged me about an already broken off connector. All the evidence points to the conclusion that the battery connector was snapped off in the process of installing a battery while at Alpha Computer. Nevertheless, the owner has refused to respond to that evidence, instead cutting off all communication. I relied on the high yelp rating to take my computer here but have learned that negative reviews are sometimes removed. I understand that mistakes happen but as a small business owner myself, with experience in both legitimate and illegitimate complaints, I know that communicating with the customer is the first step in reaching a resolution. I am disappointed with the quality of repair service I experienced at Alpha computer and appalled at how the business has chosen to respond to me when the repairs went south: cutting off communication with a courteous and patient customer. CHUCK SAVED MY MAC!!! 3 years ago I opened up my $2300+ MacBook Pro and it wouldn't turn on. It was less than a year old and I had purchased the Apple warranty so I brought it into the Apple store. They sent it off and within 48 hours I was told the mother board was fried from water damage (not true, it has never gotten wet!), and the cost to repair would be $1700. I cried, stuck it in my closet, and tried to forget about it. As a single mom I didn't have the money to buy a new computer so I had to work on my backup PC. Fast forward 3 years...I come across my beautiful Mac, sitting in my closet, all by herself. My friend had recommended Chuck to me a while ago (he saved her Mac, too) but I figured after this long it would be irreparable, having sat in a closet for 3 years with apparent water damage. Excellent service! I needed the screen replaced on my laptop. I talked to Chuck on the phone and he told me to bring it in anytime - no appointment needed and that he had the part in stock. I brought the computer to him this week - dropped it off and he called an hour later and had it fixed. He quoted me a price on the phone and the final price came in slight under that. And the repair was perfect. Chuck is very nice and I will definitely use him again if the need arises. **In reference to the 1-star review posted in May. I mentioned to Chuck that I had looked at his Yelp page. He mentioned the one-star review and said that writer of that review apparently failed to notice that the hard drive he had put on the friend's laptop was a solid state drive. So yes, it had less GB - but it was a better, more expensive hard drive. So I wouldn't give that review much weight. read more

Friend brought her laptop here, twice. Once to fix a sound issue, and then a second time to fix a system issue. The second time, the hard drive had to be replaced and system re-installed. All seemed fine with the laptop when it was returned. Now, 6-7 months later, she has purchased a new laptop and has given me the old one, as it stopped working again. When I started inspecting it, I found the power supply was bad and got a new one and it turned on again.
