I would not recommend this driving school. I paid for my required behind-the-wheel training and completed all 6 hours, but I was never given my completion certificate. Now that I need it for the DMV, there is no way to get it because the school is no longer reachable, leaving me in a complicated situation. If you're going to use this school, make sure you receive every required document before considering your training complete. Well I used them previously with no issues but my grandson was scheduled for behind the wheel, first lesson 6-15-26 at 1pm. I had texted previously and got a txt stating the office was closed due to unforseen emergency and provided James Johnson name and email. I emailed 2 times and received 2 confirmation of today's appt. NO ONE SHOWED UP. NO MESSAGE, NO SHOW. called office got automated message that due to unforeseen administrative emergency there are no lessons, no office staff until July. This is very unprofessional. Used this company for my older daughter with no issues. The business is not shut down for "unforeseen administration reasons." Left my son hanging and unable to take his test. The last behind the wheel was told they would mail the certificate because they were running low on them. 4 weeks later no certificate, business closed and no license on his 16th birthday. No balance was due and they ruined a 16 year old's dream of getting his license on his birthday. They need to fully refund us so we can start over and try to get the certificate. Kathy is completely unprofessional. 1st session. She was late. Had to add half an hour to 2nd session. 2nd session. 15 minutes late. 3rd session. rescheduled to due to a family emergency. Then she was 15 minutes late. Kathy said she was going to go on the freeway but didn't because something was wrong with her car. 4th session. rescheduled one hour before start time to very next day because she had a fever and was worried that she would be contagious. Then, no surprise, she half an hour late because she said pick up was listed at the school even though confirmation text said it was at our house. She then cut the session half an hour short. I've reached out to Alpha Driving School a couple of times and they've failed to respond. The owners simply do not care. This entire experience reflects negatively on Alpha Driving School. You are better off taking your business elsewhere. read more

I'm so glad I found this school. It's a nice location and very clean. Jay is a great teacher. My son needs someone patient and kind. Jay made sure he took small steps to build my sons confidence. They went over everything and more. Even how to fill the car with gas. Lots of parking lot driving at first, which my son was happy about. Then residential driving, street driving, and freeway. My daughter had 3 different instructors and they were all very knowledgeable and pleasant. My daughter felt very comfortable. Debra, the manager is very friendly and helpful. Communication is a little tough as it seems the office is closed a lot. But if you leave a message they will get back to you. I would definitely recommend!! I have used James and Debra's services for both my boys and now for my niece. My boys and niece speak highly of James. All 3 were a little nervous on their first days out but looked forward to each session afterwards. They spoke of his patients, constant reassurance, and laid back but professional personality. James is absolutely wonderful! I am so pleased with him training my son. For my son's first training we left the permit in the other car so he couldn't drive without it. James took a little time just talking to the both of us about his experience as a trainer. He was very personable and after talking to him you know that he is trustworthy with your student. Debby, another employee had me wanting to look for another school, but he totally redeemed us as customers! He is very pleasant to deal with and you get the sense that he genuinely cares about his student's and their safety. He is patient and I like the fact that he teaches defensive driving too. These folks are AWESOME! After having a horrible experience with my last teenager at a different local driving school (don't want to name them, but the initials are T as in Tom, and C as in Co), I have alpha a shot. Total professionalism from the get go. They're up front about ALL costs, unlike the other company. My son struggled with his written permit test and alpha made themselves available and gave him extra help to get passed. They kept all of their behind the wheel apts and were always on time. All behind the wheel is done 1 on 1 rather than a group splitting the time. They promptly returned every phone call I made. Extremely friendly and helpful. I honestly can't say enough about them. My son just passed his behind the wheel test today with flying colors and that is definitely due in part to this school. I am so happy with how they've have taught both my sons, the time and teaching it takes to produce excellent drivers isnt an easy one! They did a great job and I have well trained drivers! I can say, Alpha driving is the best. James and Debbie very nice people, work hard with the students. They deserve 5 stars. I might add, years ago I worked with young people. Most were very good youngsters, polite with good manners however, on occasion would have a youngster that apparently lacked good manners and respect for others. Their driving habits were dangerous to say the least. On occasion after bringing this to the attention of student, they did not except critique very well. That student would home and then twisted the facts to parents because student did not like instructor pointing out to them error of their ways. read more

If I could give them less then 1 star I would. Beware if you make an appointment 2 months ahead expect them to call and change the appointment. The first driving time they changed the time the morning of, luckily we didn't have anything planned. After my sons first session I asked the gentleman how he did he said, "best first driving instruction I have had you and your husband did good and I think he only needs one more session ." The night before his second session they called to cancel his session for the same reasons they changed his time the first time. My husband and I were not happy since we had to rearrange what we were going to do for his driving time. The owner and wife of the first instructor, was yelling and even hung up on my husband. Today they came and pick my son up for his second two hour session he came home a little after an hour. He informed me the instructor criticize him for everything he did and asked him to go back to the office. The owner informed him that he was not listening and being dangerous and the instructor didn't want to continue and they had the same complaint from his previous instructor, yes the one above who told me how wonderful my son did and only thought he needed one more session. How dare them treat my son that way. If you are mad at the parents don't take it out on the child. He has 3 more hours of instruction time I am thinking I will have to go with him just so they treat him right. Will update when he does his last 3 hours. *****update: to the office manager/owners response: you did not call or email me until today, 12/8/15 one call at 8:28 a.m. and another at 11:35 a.m. I am a teacher and my phone is off during the day so your rude voice message was not appreciated. My son is a B+ student and has never been in trouble at school. After driving with your instructor belittling him and making him feel incompetent he hasn't wanted to drive when before this incident he drove everyday. An instructor is suppose to instruct not belittle their students. My husband again talked to you today and was asked to your office however, we decided why put our son in the hands of people who don't teach their student. Because we believe in our son keep the $199.00 for the three hours of instruction as we are going someplace else who will instruct our son not belittle him. This driving school blows me out of the park because their instructors make you feel so welcome and so comfortable, they only do one on one sessions so that they can put their full attention on you, they help me through every little thing that I struggle with, they help me to become the better driver that I am and makes me feel confident to take my driving test and anyone out there looking for driving school to prepare for driving definitely go to alpha driving school!!!! read more

Our experience with this driving school has been nothing but repeatedly negative. They were quick to take our money, but hesitant to schedule driving lessons. They have also been very quick to NOT be available for lessons, forcing us to reschedule, and this has happened several times. Now they are saying there is a six-month expiration date so that if you don't get all six lessons completed within six months, you cannot finish them. Funny, they did not actually tell our son that when he called up to schedule his second driving lesson (which was a reschedule because they cancelled it previously) after the six months. They also did not say anything when we told them he would have to reschedule after 6 months because of our son's schedule and need to retake the written DMV test. In short, their tune changes with the wind, to suit their own inept business practices. They also promised our daughter they would call us, her parents, to schedule her next lesson but the phone has remained silent for over a week. We have to call them every time. Alpha Driving School has less than professional business practices and, in hindsight, it was a huge mistake to give them our money. By the way, they just told us "they don't teach parallel parking," which tells us they are not much of a driving school. read more
