Had new engine put in my Subaru. Engine compartment was filthy. Few months later I had to take it back because it was leaking oil. They said it was a faulty oil filter and they replaced it. Two and a half years have gone by (13,000) miles on a new engine and head gasket is leaking. Warranty is one year or 12,000 miles. Worst $8000 I have ever spent. Would Not recommend this company to anyone. Very sloppy work. read more

The Oil pressure gauge kept dropping to low on a trip through McCall Idaho. I was towing my Ford F150 behind my motorhome and noticed this oil pressure issue during our stay driving around McCall. I went to the local oil change shop and they referred me to Alpine Automotive. Steve at Alpine Automotive said they were booked until Thursday. Unfortunately, we were heading out on Wednesday to Boise Idaho. Steve scrambled and said he would do his best to get the issue diagnosed. The staff drove me back to our campsite at McCall RV resort and before 4 PM the same day they had diagnosed and fixed the low pressure oil issue. They even picked me up!!! The price was reasonable and the staff there was so so nice. I highly recommend Alpine Automotive to anyone in or traveling through McCall Idaho. 5 Star all the way! read more

Our truck an 02Ford started stalling would restart but stalled at most stops signs or stop light. Alpine automotive with a shortage of staff diagnosed the problem and repaired it in just a few minutes. I will, if I ever need repairs in the McCall id area go to this shop. Steve, the owner of Alpine Automotive is THE WORST person to EVER go to. I had a jeep that i took in recently. I took it in thinking that I may have a blown headlight gasket, because my car had white smoke blowing out and my coolant was bubbling , so I brought it in when it was cooled down. As I was on the way there for the first visit , my car was no more than a couple feet from the actual shop itself and it was heating up and starting to smoke up again and Steve, the owner, comes out in a very angry manner towards me and a friend I brought with me and is screaming " what the hell are you guys doing?!?" and we told him " we're here to get service from you because--" Steve interrupts me , pops open the hood , and all they did was put water inside my coolant and engine and told me to get a radiator cap, they refused me service and told me the ONLY way to get service is to set up an appointment . SO i wait about a week , I set up an appointment and brought it in. I told them ALL i wanted was a diagnostic of what is wrong with it. Alpine Automotive ended up not giving me a proper diagnostic AND charged me $134.00 for a change of coolant and a radiator cap. I drove from Alpine Automotive to Maverick in McCall , taking the back roads, and i left it idling for no more than 5 minutes. THEN i check to see how hot it is and it the hottest it can be on the gauge and was told by a friend that I don't have my auxiliary electrical cooling fan was never there , and so I call them twice and give them a voicemail. My friend who was with me called them and on the first phone call they answer and she is stating that my car is still overheating even when the receipt they gave me told me there was " no overheating. " They tell us to bring it in at that moment and we tell them we cannot because it still overheating and we don't want to cause more damage towards it. SO we bring it in the next day , Steve , the owner , is rude as heck and the first thing he tells me in a rude tone was " so what's this bullshit with the fan?" and I told him " i'm pretty sure I had a fan and now it's gone " and he was with a loud voice telling me " there was never a fan there , every time I checked it out there was never a fan there, it's a piece of shit car and I told you to get rid of it." Then I proceed to ask " so why is it overheating?" and he would not answer my question he just in an angrily way kept repeating " there is nothing to explain , there is nothing we can do" I call a friend to help me explain to the owner , Steve, to tell him what happened so he can fix it. She then comes in and they are actually talking and he tells her that they test drove it and there was no issues with them , and we told them how far we drove it and what happened and why we are confused . He then proceeds to follow us out and tells us how it a piece of shit and I should have never bought it and when he popped open the hood he then proceeded to tell me " there is nothing we can do , what do expect us to do?" I told him " well nothing because you said there's nothing you can do." and he just told us that day that there was internal engine damage and did not care to specify or check or explain. They refused to do any kind of service to it that day and the only thing they recommend for me to do is sell it. read more
