We attended the Mother's day brunch this past Sunday. It just really made our day. We were greeted with a smile, and each mom a glass of champagne, and a beautifully crafted gift box that matched the menu and carried through in all the lovely decor. There was a beautiful picture taking center set up as well. The wait staff was friendly and efficient. The guests attending joyful, well-dressed, and friendly to one another. You heard the buzz of quiet, happy conversations overall. No loud laughing or voices. Just as it should be. Peaceful, warm and comforting. I haven't mentioned the food yet. Wow! Just wow! Every kind of meat, chicken, fish, lobster and shrimp, vegetables, finger dumplings, potatoes, rice, salad station, and carving station. And the desserts! Chocolate covered strawberries, poppy seed cake, custards, and more, and rum balls! Oh the rum balls were fantastic! I wish I could buy a dozen! Had a wonderful opportunity to celebrate my Wife's Cousins Sons Wedding (...Family). We ended up in Darien Illinois. From the outside the massive size is diminished. Once inside, Wow! Place is outstanding! The Charcuterie/ Appetizer Spread was just unbelievable. Many great choices to choose from (Should put on my bigger slacks for this event). Name it, they offered it. Open bar, the only way to celebrate, we enjoyed a few glasses, before dinner, a Cabernet Sauvignon. We returned for some more good choices from the Appetizer Table. The festivities pressed forward; Once everyone was introduced, announcements, a little dancing for the Bride & Groom, photo ops, we finally began the meal. Started out with a Mushroom Hearty Soup, Bread. A Salad was brought in promptly. Consisted of a Italian Vinaigrette, fresh and tasty. Oh before I forget, Bottles we're present at each table from Homemade Polish style "Nalefka" (like a Lemoncello), Chopin Vodka, a good bottle of aged Scotch, Cabernet Sauvignon, White Sauvignon. Old school, but we like it that way. The Entree was a Filet Mignon, Garlic Mashed Potato, Hibachi cooked Shrimp (3 good sized) with grilled pepper's on the skewer, and " Haricot Vert" It was a challenge to finish eating, the portions were not skimpy. Dessert consisted of a huge Sweet Table. I've never seen so many options (I was hoping for a Napoleon, but that was the only thing missing,) plenty of choices, you would have been satisfied, regardless. I went with my favorite, A Cannoli. Coffee or Tea options. After all this, they started prepping a hot buffet for the evening!!! Staff was friendly, engaging and very professional. If you plan to use Alpine Banquets, in the South Suburbs, for any celebratory events, highly recommend this great spot. My parents just celebrated their 50th Anniversary here. The service from the bartender and wait staff was very professional. Along with the management, they even called us after the party, to make sure everything went as planned. The food was delicious. We selected the dessert and appetizer option and it was incredible. We attended the First Annual Tasting last week and it didn't go as expected: Decor 5/5 Hospitality 4/5 Food 2/5 Appetizers 3/5 Main Entree 1/5 The decor was beautiful, there is no dying that and the hospitality was decent. The wait staff could have been a little quicker at clearing tables during the tasting but nothing to freak out about, staff was very friendly. The food on the other hand was the complete opposite of previous reviews, and maybe that's because they are under new management now. Genuinely don't want to offend the company or the chef, but there needs to be improvements if people are going to sign a contract to have their event there. There is nothing more embarrassing than serving your family and friends food that's not good. The appetizers were fine, nothing to write home about but decent. The main meat entrees, specifically the chicken and steak, were overcooked, dry, flavorless and tough. The mashed potatoes, both garlic and regular, also had no flavor. Helen and Kim were beyond helpful with the entire process making wedding planning much easier and less stressful! Communication was on point with quick replies to any questions along the way. The food was delicious and our friends and family still talk about what a great time they had there. The attention to detail was also noticed by our guests and very impressive. We celebrated our wedding on 4/27/19 at Alpine and it was amazing. I worked with just about everyone at Alpine via email, phone and in person, and that high & attentive care is what translates into a seamless wedding planning. From the first visit, Helen was amazingly helpful in showing us our options, recommending vendors, etc. Planning from afar was pretty easy considering it was a 200+ person wedding - I live in Seattle so even w/ the time difference and my few visits to the area, it was so easy to coordinate everything! We had our wedding here last month and had a wonderful experience with Helen & Sebastian. They were very attentive and easy to work with. Alpine was by far the best banquet hall we could find that fit within our budget. The hors d'oeuvres, bar, and cake were included at a pretty affordable price. The night of, the ballroom looked fantastic and better than I imagined. We got a lot of compliments on the hors d'oeuvres. I have food allergies (gluten & dairy) and Alpine was very accommodating, making me a separate plate of appetizers and altering my dinner. The food was good for a banquet hall and a crowd pleaser, which was important since some of our family is kind of picky (they're very meat & potatoes people). I would definitely recommend the baked chicken. Overall, I highly recommend Alpine. It is a well-kept and well-run business. For what was in our price range, it was above and beyond the best. We attended a wedding here recently and had a great time. I mean I love weddings to begin with but this place did not take away any of the fun! The facility is well kept and clean and nice looking inside and out. The staff was great. They were all friendly and fast, fast, fast! We ate family style with very standard wedding fare: chicken, beef, veggies, etc...The food was good and there was nothing that really stood out as super delicious but there was nothing that was bad either. It was a good meal. The bar was located about 10 feet behind two tables. This was quite a bottleneck but the bartenders did an OK job of getting people their drinks so people kept moving. I also heard reports that 2 out of 3 women's bathroom stalls were out of order which caused some huge delays. read more

Just had my wedding here last Saturday and was fantastic. We were a little scattered...but Sebastian and his team put everything together beautifully. The ballroom was gorgeous, the food was really good. I highly recommend doing the plated dinner as the family style was not very good when we did the tasting. The champagne chicken was delicious (I had it without the champagne sauce) and people complimented the prime rib. The green beans and mashed potatoes were tasty but pretty standard. We did passed apps during cocktail hour and those were quite a hit. My only complaint was that they ran out of food. The more people I talk to the more people I realize did not get what they ordered. I have heard from at least 10 people that ordered prime rib that did not receive it. Sebastian told me at the end of the evening the "four people forgot what they ordered" I don't know what happened, we had multiple people not show up and yet, they ran out of a main courses and some people who ordered prime rib ended up with chicken or vegetarian. That was disappointing and I felt really bad for those people, plus I paid for prime rib for A LOT of people (which was more expensive). Not happy about that. Otherwise, things went off without much of a hitch! The hard work that they put into putting together the reception is apparent and the rooms are much prettier and more detailed than your average banquet hall in a hotel or restaurant. They have coat check, a bridal room, uplights for behind the head table, various colored linens and napkins and dessert is included. We had cupcakes and they turned out great. So happy with how most things went. Hopefully they figure out a way to prevent this problem with the plated dinners from happening again. I even coded the place cards for what people were getting, so maybe they should have gone by that. Oh well, still had a wonderful time and would recommend this place. read more

We were unable to have our wedding reception at Alpine Banquets, due to the national lockdown of COVID 19 in May 2020. We are in the process of moving out of state and will be unable to utilize this establishment for our reception like we had planned. We have a small deposit of $4000 that we have been disputing with Alpine Banquets for the past 3 weeks. We were trying to be understanding to this business, and the hit they took during COVID and only requested partial refund at first. However, due to their poor business practices and unprofessionalism, I cannot believe that a business would be willing to have their reputation poorly rated over $4,000. My husband and I had our wedding reception at Alpine September 8, 2012 and it was simply perfect! Helen, Sebastian and Betty went over and beyond to make sure that everything was just right. They were very helpful offering suggestions and always made themselves available to answer any questions or concerns. They even ordered a sample of my linen for me to come in and look at before making my final decision since I was so indecisive about which colors to choose. Their patience with me was outstanding! Betty, who provided us with some of our centerpieces, gave us some great ideas and did a wonderful job adding a touch of elegance to the banquet hall with some of her own creations and rental pieces that she made available to us. In addition, Alpine offered an abundance of choices on their menu. None of my guest went home hungry or disappointed! We had a variety of fun h'orderves, a family style dinner in which ever dish complimented each other, an exquisitely decorated sweet table and cake table, wine and champagne on each table, and to top it off a midnight snack. The food was brought out on time, hot, and served very professionally by their white collared and white gloved staff. The bar service was also very prompt, organized, and made extraordinary drinks that kept the guests going back for more. In conclusion, I could not ask for anything more than the service we received from Alpine. They were very accommodating and made the reception hall look beautiful! When we arrived to the banquet hall everything was how we talked about it many meetings before. I was even able to drop off some things the night before, as far as decoration pieces and party favors, and they made sure to have everything in it's proper spot on the day of. So, if your looking for a place where you can trust the owners in making sure your reception is outstanding and not have to worry about a thing and reasonably priced, Alpine is definitely the place to go with! The staff their is very hard working in making sure the venue is always kept clean and up to par with the greatest quality of service, accommodations and trendy vendor list. This review is about 7 months late but well worth the time. My husband and I got married there in September of 2010. All I can say is AMAZING!! The service that we received from Day 1 of walking in was of the highest level imaginable. Helen is the owner and she really takes a personal interest in making sure that your day goes off without a hitch and that everything is perfect. We went by one day to drop off a payment and saw Helen setting up for a party the next day, she was walking by each table straightening linens and centering lights so everything looked perfect. We were sold by the looks and the prices, extremely reasonable. We were able to do so much more with our budget there. We chose a plated dinner with Alpine Chicken and Roast Beef. We were told by several guests that they were unable to finish all of the food with the hors d'oeuvres, dinner, dessert, chocolate fountain and sausage and sandwiches at the end of the night. Everyone said how wonderful the food was! We were extremely pleased because the last thing you want at your wedding is for your guests to leave hungry. The centerpieces and table overlays with the chair covers made the room look so elegant. When I walked in I would've thought that I was in a fancy high rise downtown overlooking the lake. Unbelievable. Also, they had Tanqueray Vodka in their standard bar package so no need for an upgrade. Also, request David as your bartender. After people ordered their first drink, he had another one waiting for them as they started walking towards the bar. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Alpine. They made my day flawless and beautiful and I couldn't be happier with the way things turned out. Helen offers you advice and suggestions with planning your event, she wants to ensure that they provide you with everything you expect and more. Well, the Ballroom looked nice and the food servers were friendly. The chicken in Round 1 was dry. In Round 2, it was hot, fatty, and soggy. There really wasn't much meat to the chicken. The beef was overcooked and soaked in gravy. The potatoes were decent enough; the salad, so-so. The mostaccioli was oversauced and too sweet. The bread was good. The location of the bar made it very hard to get to the bar. A table sits only a few feet from the bar and of course people stand around near the bar. If it weren't for the position of the table, access would be easier. read more

Oh my goodness I am so happy with our choice of Alpine Banquets for our reception! They were amazing. We did some shopping around and they were by far the best bang for your buck, that even aside, their staff is amazing. Helen, Kim, and Sebastian are all great, kind, patient, caring people. From our first tour of the place to the night of, they always made us feel completely at ease. Never once were they pushy for any add ons, I contacted them constantly and they never seemed to mind. I even called poor Kim the night before with table dilemmas, having her switch around every table, to call back and tell her it was right the first time. Most people probably would've cursed me out but she was sooo nice, calming, and even laughed about it. They go out of their way to make sure things are exactly as you want them. The day of, everything was set up so beautifully, everything went smoothly and Sebastian was there the whole time for anything we needed and making sure things went perfectly. I must say hands down they have to be some of the nicest people I Have ever worked w/. They made us feel like family from the first time I called there (10 pm on a Saturday night while another event was going on) till days after when we picked up the rest of our stuff they always made us feel like we were first priority. Through out the course of our engagement (15 months) anytime we called there stopped in or emailed they were always very prompt to tend to our needs. They were extremely accommodating & truly did there best to meet our random requests of all of our "wonderful" ideas to make our night "perfect" for us. The day before the wedding I stopped there to drop off my last item & had a glance @ the hall as it was almost completely set for our wedding, I walked through w/ Helen from table to table in tears, what a joy it was too see all of the planning come to life & what an amazing job they had done pulling it all together, the table linens, chair covers, center pieces, candy buffet, chocolate fountain, & sweet table were breath taking. Our guest's were more than satisfied with the food, bar & service in general, and I still get call's about it all. The entire organization was organized, shared creative thoughts for making the most out of our Bridal Shower, and payed attention to every last detail with enthusiasm and excitement. Went for wedding. Nicely-decorated. The bruschetta was so garlicky, it was like eating a garlic clove. The baked chicken was tender and moist, everything else was lousy. Mostaccioli was ok; sauce tasted like it was out of a can. Mashed potatoes were so peppery, they were inedible, not just for me, but for everyone at table. Beef was overdone. Soup was too salty. My salad was nonexistent. Actually, everyone got very little salad. The rolls were tasteless. The Oreos at the chocolate fountain table were stale. The wedding cake slices were paper thin. Servers were so quick to clean off tables. I got up to get some strawberries from the chocolate fountain table and came back to no drinks or napkins. She took everything away and I wasn't even gone for 3 minutes. Disappointing! read more

All I can say is WOW! We just had our wedding here April 4th and every single thing turned out beautiful and perfect. I have never experienced customer service in my life as good as alpine banquets. Sebastian was so helpful, so calming, and so so so knowledgeable with every question I had. As a bride to be the weeks before the wedding I was frantic and had phone call after phone call of issues and questions. Every time I talked to him or Helen they helped and I don't think I was ever once tr "no we can't do that." They handled all of the fine details and when the big day came everything was handled perfectly. The food was amazing- we chose family style plates. The servers there were great and we still remember "Kathy with a K" and her great (and prompt!) service for our head table. The bartenders were a riot and definitely matched our party like atmosphere. Upon our first meeting with Helen almost a year before our wedding, before we had even chosen our venue, I knew that this place was soo much better than anywhere else. The other places are too commercial. They have multiple weddings a weekend and I got the feeling that we were not special to them. Alpine, however, is family run and it shows through in every aspect of their business. I honestly could not be happier with the service we experienced. My husband and I are incredibly thankful and fortunate to have had the chance to have our reception at Alpine Banquets May 14, 2016. We looked at many places in and around the area yet could not find one that suited our needs. When we first walked in and were shown the rooms, we knew we had found a winner. We both loved the classy interiors that were clean, elegant, and large enough to handle our guests of around 100 people. Sebastian and his sweet mom Helen answered all of our questions and gave us detailed information about their various packages. Additionally, this was a multi-cultural wedding and they gave great advice on how to make it work for both groups. Whenever we had questions, they responded immediately by phone. Our food tasting was an enjoyable experience; the spread was exquisite as we had many chicken/beef/veggie options to choose from. Although our wedding consisted of 100 guests, we had many decorations to assemble and display. I provided all decorations to Sebastian a week ahead of time and we were blown away how beautiful the main ballroom was when we arrived at our reception. My husband and I as well as our guests felt so at-home and incredibly comfortable. The food was delicious as we chose cream of chicken and rice and chicken/beef dinner plates for each of the guests. Additionally, the dessert table was beautifully displayed. In short, our guests loved the food, loved the drinks, the dessert table was exquisite, and the tables and hall were incredibly elegant. Adding to the already superb customer service, Sebastian would even check in on us to make sure our night was going as planned and if they needed to make any adjustments to accommodate our needs.
