Nicely paved and shaded walking path!

Visited Alpine Groves Park for a morning walk! The trees along the paved trail provided necessary shade from the hot sunshine! The park was not extremely busy and the walk out on the pier is beautiful and peaceful! The park is extremely well kept and my dog and I really enjoyed our time!

Great park to take a hike along the Saint Johns River. There are 2 trails, one short one by the entrance which is a loop through the woods. The second trail leads into the woods and opens up by the river. There are bathrooms and a picnic area too.

Great park right on the river. There's tons of shade, a nice playground, and trails to explore with the kids.

So happy to find that park as it's a great way to spend a day with family! We stopped at Playground, then walked among forest, enjoyed pier and river view, stopped for picnic and swings. Everything SHADOWED!!! ISNT IT GREAT! I wish it would be Everywhere like this, as we need more shadow and trees!

Wonderful park in north St.John's along the St John's River. It is a historic park in that there is a farm house on property from the 1700's; owned until 2000 then it was all deeded to the county. They have a nice play ground, picnic tables on the St John's and building that are probably used for events...very nice!

We came here for a family photo, easy to find and get around. So many beautiful locations to have a picnic, catch the sunset, or photos. There is also a playground at the front of the park for the littles. Added a couple of the candid photos that we took in between the professional ones

If you love to hike, run, checkout nature, or just a photographer at heart, this is one park worth checking into. A rather small park, yet it offers big things. The park has paved and shaded walking trails, with bench seats where you can rest in between. These trails are well kept. Leading back into the trails you will find a nice abandoned, historic house that is PERFECT for picture taking. And just within 20 yards from that house, is the Saint Johns River which pairs up for an even beautiful scenery. And while you are at it, walk further down into the pier, have a sit, relax and enjoy God's gift around you. The pier is very scenic. There are so many things this park offers and despite it all; the park continues to remain well maintained and well kept each time I go. I just wish this park had some trails worth riding. Well, perhaps somewhere in the near future.

Way way way to many people, definitely not a place I would go for a peaceful hike or even to take pictures, terrible experience!

What a neat little hidden treasure! They've got some lovely trails in here and incredible views…read more There is a kayak launch as well. And loads of different types of camping/cabin rentals available. And a pool! This day I went just to walk the trails and it's amazing how you can feel so far in the woods while still being basically in a neighborhood. The trails aren't very long but plenty to see along the way. I liked the tree house trail and seeing the neat treehouses you can camp in. And the views over the river are gorgeous down the jungle trail. If you need to get out to touch grass, highly suggest this spot!

Such a fun time last night at Camp Chowenwaw!…read more We stayed in one of the treehouses, number 5 to be specific. There was so much wildlife to be heard throughout the night including owls, woodpeckers, and what we think were crickets or maybe lubbers. The bathrooms and shower areas were very clean for a park/camping area. There are different trails to explore along the path to the treehouses, which we didn't have a chance to do. We suggest bringing a sheet or blanket to cover your mattresses. Each treehouse has 2 twin sized bunk beds (total of 4 mattresses). They are VERY uncomfortable, so if you need extra support, you should probably bring a mattress topper/padding. The grills were pretty clean, just need some dusting off before cooking, though, nothing out of the ordinary. Upkeep for everything was great!
