Yes nothing like a good old fashioned knock down drag out wrestling entertainment to get anyone yelling. The gym are is large as they had a wrestling ring set up along with an entry way for the wrestlers to come into the area while being introduced. This place is big enough to have chairs all around a wrestling ring and to the wall and standing room only, (I think they had to turn people away) this was a popular event. During the art auction, the rugs were laying all over the large floor area, plus they had numerous paintings and sculptures displayed. During events, there is a kitchen area where they sell hot dogs and sodas and probably other items depending on the concession person involved. Please watch your step as you exit the building at night as the lighting is poor and the brick planter area out front is a tripping hazard as we found out during our exit, thus the check in at the ER.

They had your traditional fair rides with one I hadn't seen before an army helicopter ride! Maybe a recruitment tool? There were games of chance to win stuffed animals, etc. The animals all looked good and healthy; the young folk who entered them all were proud of their animals..nice fair.

Bricks are out of place, rotting railings, water spilling out onto the holes etc. perhaps the turf has been replaced over the past two years or so. If someone who worked there took 30 minutes to blow off the holes with a leaf blower at the start of the day, you would not have so much mulch, leaves and other "challenges" to get your ball in the hole. Has ice cream and slushes for sale at the end of the round.

Would not recommend going past noon in the summertime, the structures can get quite hot! The bathroom facilities are always clean and there's plenty of parking which is nice because of the popular Pickleball court. I personally am a fan of the fact that it has two areas one designed for those smaller than five and one area for slightly bigger kids.

I was recommended the trail to the beach by Jacksonville Beach Moms. It is a mile long, with sand,…read moredirt, tree roots, and pine needles. You could pull a wagon over it, but I decided to carry my toddler son instead of using a stroller . It was easy to walk the path from the parking lot. You have to use the QR code on the sign by the entrance to pay for parking, $3. There was parking spots, but it does fill up quickly, even at 11 am on a Wednesday. The beach was open and very few people around. Mostly people walking the beach or fishing, but my son and I had the beach to ourselves for the most part. It was a nice day, and we had fun putting our feet in the water and sitting on the sand. I know the driftwood is popular for family pictures, and there is plenty of it. I highly recommend this beach and the short trail to it.

I first came here for the Shrimp Festival also referred to as The Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival, that was several years ago and I have returned a number of times since for the festival and also for the antique shops and the beautiful beaches and I do love hanging out at the Palace Saloon, this bar started serving in 1903 and still has plenty of that vintage vibe, with its stained walls from the years of cigarette smoke, its tin ceiling, those ornate carvings on the back bar it's definitely an original like none other and you must try the pirate punch. Known as the birthplace of the modern shrimping industry this famous crustacean is on every menu in town and done in ways that would make Benjamin Buford Blue "Bubba" proud, there's even a Shrimping Museum, yes this town takes it shrimping history serious and when I'm here I'm seriously into finding that delicious cup of shrimp gumbo, shrimp is considered the fruit of the sea so I'm sure you'll find a dish that you'll love uh there's, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo, pan-fried, deep fried, stir-fried shrimps, pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That- that's about it I guess. Right Whales are active off this coast usually between November - April I think they come for the shrimp as well....
