He went outside, came back with a key and the only 2 words he ever uttered were "cabin 2". Cabin 2 met us with a plunger by the front door. Inside was quite a nightmare. No way to ask for another room as the place was closed at this point. Bathroom door broken--has a gate latch that doesn't close all the way, floors filthy and covered in sticker burrs, spiders in the bathroom, the soaps and shampoos were obviously refilled-not new-and dirty and stuck to the glass shelve. The TV was falling off the wall, there was a hole in the front door and the back of the door was covered in some sort of dirt (bug dirt?). Multiple spider webs in room. The positives were the fridge and microwave were clean and operational, the bed wasn't really comfy but seemed to be clean, and the AC worked. We were immediately looking for other hotel rooms even though we had prepaid for 2 nights. Unfortunately--April in this area is a big time for visiting Big Bend, so there was nothing to be had. We seriously considered sleeping in the truck... The reviews and photos I saw before booking sure look good, but they are very deceptive. Buyer beware!!

I've never stayed in a yurt and thought it would be so cool. Silly me for procrastinating! However, a major development occurred a week after our stay... I requested a refund for a charge to my card. Got an immediate response, but no resolve. So beware of extra charges with no notification or explanation... Moving on. On the property, there are four rentals: two yurts and two tiny houses. Each rental has a unique name. Our tiny house was Casa Pequena. We stayed just one night on 2.15.2025. West Texas charm oozed from the ceiling to the floors. There were tasteful accents of gold and black with the occasional green and red. I won't soon forget the black and white "Prada Marfa" wallpaper. It was all surprisingly relaxing. So. Many. Amenities: Air conditioning Board games Chimenea Coffee/tea maker Extra linens, pillows and blankets Hair Dryer / Heating Iron Fireplace Microwave Outdoor furniture Outdoor grill Oven Refrigerator (stocked upon request) / Freezer Smart TVs Stove Washing machine / Dryer Wireless Internet & more. There is an ice chest for guests there also. The beds are extremely comfortable! Restaurant: open all day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You order at the counter, get a # and choose a table to wait for your order which is brought to you. You can also sit at the counter to order milkshakes, soda floats, etc. There is a small gift shop with items at the front and at the back near the restrooms. They also sell single slices of pie. The hotel checkin is inside the restaurant. There are a few tables outside to eat also. Prices are reasonable and staff is really friendly. Fun fact: Wed. April 27, 2022 the entire property was sold to new owners. We randomly met the wife on the street that day. Her, her husband and adult son moved here from Minnesota to become the new owners. The adult son will manage the restaurant. Not sure how things will change, if at all. Note to owners: the beds in room #6 are too high. Either provide foot stools or get lower beds.
