I recently used Alpine Home Services to clean my house. I chose this company based on many positive reviews that I read on Service Magic's website and on their use of toxic free, green products. The owner, Samantha Fried, came to my house to give me a free quote. The meeting was great. She was very friendly and professional. We walked through the house and both discussed what would be cleaned and how I would like it done. She said no problem. Her crew came out and did a really good job on most of the house. The only thing that was missed was some dusting. I explained this to Samantha via e-mail and she was quick to respond and say she would make sure the crew would dust better next time. Awesome. A small business owner willing to work with you and make sure the quality of service is at a higher standard. I had the cleaning crew out a second time. This time, the crew was not good at all. They did do some cleaning but missed a lot. The dusting job was the worst. The dusted around objects, leaving dust all around every item and on every hard surface in the house. They did not vacuum very well either. We had piles of pine needles on our rug by the front door, huge dust bunnies around corners, the edges along the rooms had tons of dog hair. This is just a short list. I spoke with Samantha about this and she apologized and informed me that her crew could not make it out again right away. She waived all fees. I thought that was great on her part. I did not expect that however. I was fine paying for the services, I just wanted it done right. I feel that the crew of 3 were in such a hurry, that things got overlooked and missed. She said she would still work with us and I said the same. I asked her to come out again in a couple of weeks and was informed that they would not do business with me anymore. That is why I am writing a poor review. I am not trying to be a pain in the neck or get free services. I want to pay for a job well done. I was told what to expect of her services and those standards were not met in the least. Too bad. Samantha eliminates so many of the hassles of owning a home far away. For example, my nephew left his medicine at our house and she shipped it to him in Texas. She even offers annual changing of smoke alarm batteries, which is something so important but so easily forgotten - and not something I want to do given the high ceilings in our loft! Alpine Homes Services is our go-to in Kirkwood. Everything from routine housecleaning to chimney sweeping to window washing, they do/schedule it all. They'll accept furniture deliveries, let the carpet cleaners in, and check to make sure we turned off the oven when we're halfway home and can't remember if we left it on. Last winter we had a small avalanche crash through our back window on a Saturday afternoon, and Samantha had somebody there to board up the window within two hours and the window replaced within two weeks.
