He didn't take a slow or measured approach at all and seemed like he couldn't care less about our experience. When it came time for the actual tooth extraction, he pulled my son's tooth with so much force the crown exploded under the pressure. To add to this my son was crying in pain and he remarked " kids often mistake pressure with pain" and said proud of you, ya did great in a very unenthusiastic tone and immediately left. Wouldn't recommend coming here as a new patient if you expect quality treatment or bedside manner.

We have been coming here for over 8 years and the office staff is where I feel there is some need for improvement. I made an appt a month ago for my son's cavity that his orthodontist found. I called letting them know I just wanted an appt to get the cavity filled it was not necessary to have it done immediately (hence booking out 1 month) but I wanted it all done in one appt as we don't live close and since we knew there was a cavity it made sense to schedule a longer appt to get it done at once. At no time was I informed this was considered an emergency appt. Our appt was today. While waiting for the numbing to take affect, the finance gal provided an itemized break down of what our cost was and what insurance would cover. To which I signed and took a photo of. Again, Dr Moody and the Dental assistant were amazing. I do not want to give a lower review for their care alone. When checking out, the finance gal that had brought me the itemized statement before began typing into her computer and said there would be an additional $8 charge for the emergency appt. I was dumbfounded, and rightly confused as at no point had this been mentioned to me. I told her it wasn't an emergency appt, we had scheduled within office hours a month ago. To which she retorted that because I wanted the cavity taken care of in the same appt and not have a cleaning it was considered an emergency. I asked why neither she nor the front desk had informed me of this until this point to which she couldn't answer. I was rightly annoyed. This isn't the first time the office staff has had poor communication which has had a negative affect. I did give attitude to the gal, when I expressed her communication was lackluster. That does not reflect who I am at my core, for that I am apologetic. In the end, $8 isn't going to break me, but the poor communication is really causing me to think twice about where I go when I'm already traveling 90 minutes to the appt.

Visiting the dentist have always been a pleasant experience for my kids. They were never scared to see Dr. Johnson; he is very good with kids. Not only him but his staff; you can tell they have worked with so many children and know the right things to say or how to interact to put the kids at ease. My kids have never displayed any kind of fear or anxiety; or not wanting to go to the dentist. They are eager to go and get their teeth cleaned and examined. When you walk into the office, there are paintings on the wall of Safari animals everywhere. The characters are the same as the one shown here in his profile. The setting feels like a safe, fun and clean place. Dr. Johnson also referred us to an amazing orthodontist who basically fixed my daughter's underbite for free! He put in bumpers so that her upper jaw was able to grow out past her lower jaw. That will be another review... I highly recommend Dr. Johnson. He is knowledgable in his field. He has tons of experience and has a good network of professionals that he can refer you to.

The dental staff was amazing with my toddler and so welcoming and not forceful or intimidating. They did amazing helping my toddler feel comfortable and were so gentle. Dr. Burt was awesome too and great with kids. He even made an animal balloon out of a glove which my child loved. We will definitely be coming back to this place for all our pediatric dentistry! I asked if I could possibly do some kind of payment plan and they said we don't do that here. She insisted no dentist offices she's heard of does that with a serious attitude. Which is crazy because growing up my mom made sure we had good care for our teeth at everything else's expense and they always did payment plans. With all the braces, lost retainers, cleanings, how could anyone afford all that, all the time in one lump sums? I think the dentist got word of this case, thankfully, and gave a discount, however it was incredibly small. I didn't need a discount, though appreciated the thought, I needed a payment plan so I could put food on the table! I think she felt a tad remorseful and made a bit of a deal by going and chatting with the manager or the dentist in the back and said we can do half now, half later. That was like $250 right up front still! With a person on Medicaid... I just cant believe there was such little to no compassion. The dentist insisted on a procedure that was deemed fairly unnecessary, even by a pediatrician who a general sense of health of and desire to care for a human body. Lily has struggled with anxiety around dental visits, and they have always been incredibly patient, kind, and accommodating with her. Over time, they have helped her feel so much more confident and comfortable that she no longer fears going to the dentist. I'm especially grateful for the care Dr. Garner gave Lily when she was around 5 years old and in kindergarten. At that time, he recommended removing eight of her baby teeth to help make room for her adult teeth to come in more naturally. It was a big decision and honestly a scary one for me as her mom, but Dr. Garner took the time to explain his reasoning and helped me feel informed and supported. Looking back, I'm very grateful we trusted his recommendation. Lily's adult teeth came in beautifully and much straighter than I expected. Having gone through years of braces myself, I really appreciate the thought he put into her long-term dental development and the possibility of reducing the amount of orthodontic work she may need later.
