I truly have to say all of the experiences I've had with Abundent Dental Care in Murray have been…read morefantastic. But today is a whole new experience for me, Jacob Moss, DDS had some work to do on me today, and I have to say this gentlemen has the biggest heart out of most medical professionals that I have ever dealt with! He truly cares about his patience and their well-being and the current life difficulties/situations that somebody is facing. Jacob I can't thank you enough for the care you gave me today 08/08/26. These days is truly unheard of that somebody would go above and beyond like you did for a patient/somebody they don't even know. If you're looking for a GREAT dentist I strongly suggest Abundent Dental Care, Murray, and please ask for Jacob Moss, DDS! I can't say enough, good things about the dentist, dental assistance, hygienist and reception staff! I thank you all from the bottom of my heart!

Avoid any "Abundant Dental Care" at all costs. I needed a new dentist office, and I also needed…read moresome work done (nothing crazy). Abundant told me my gums were in horrible conditions, measuring at 6's 7's and 8's. That I would need immediate intervention, and that would cost $3,000 dollars - but it's OK because they have "Financing"... Meanwhile, I shopped around, I went to multiple offices, not telling them it was a 2nd opinion. With the exception of another Abundant office (who told me the same thing) every single other office was shocked when at the end of my appointment I showed them the recommended work and itemized bill. Every single one. I ended up going to another place, down the street. They measured my gums at 3's and 4's with ONE 6. I got the work I needed (The same work I was shopping around for) for $300. That's an entire DIGIT less, and having had the procedure done before, I can confidently say there was 0 drop in the quality of care I received. Do not trust a word these people say, all they want is your money, and I have the sample size to prove it. EDIT: This person below says they will contact me, this is customer service theater. What are you going to do? Retroactively not try to rip people off? Get real.

Cougar Dental came through when I was in a tight spot. When flying home from a business trip, I…read morecaused my crown to break loose from my tooth. I was going to get home in the evening and had to fly out the morning. The tooth was sensitive and we called to see if they could look at it that night. After making some calls to decide which dentist and which assistant would stay to help, they scheduled me for 6:30 in the evening, right when I would get off of the commuter train from the airport. They anticipated that they would have to do some work and make a whole new crown (2.5 hour procedure), but they were willing to do it for me. When I arrived, they welcomed me in with smiles and it turned out in the end that it we were able to use my previous crown and it took less than an hour! I was off the next morning to Boston for my conference. No pain and a full set of teeth. Thank you, thank you, Cougar Dental!!!

I am writing this review because I believe prospective patients deserve to know about my…read moreexperience. I had a crown placed at Cougar Dental in March 2023 while I was temporarily living in Utah. I live on the east coast and have an established dentist there, with regular preventive care and a night guard. Approximately three years after the crown was placed, it fractured into several small pieces and had to be replaced promptly by my regular dentist in Virginia. Because the original crown was less than five years old, my dental insurance denied coverage for the replacement. I was therefore responsible for the full replacement cost of almost $1,300. I contacted Cougar Dental and explained the circumstances. I was not asking them to replace the crown, since returning to Utah was not a realistic option and the tooth had already required treatment. I asked whether they would consider reimbursing me for at least the portion of the replacement cost that my insurance would have covered had the original crown not been subject to the insurer's five-year replacement limitation. I also provided information about my dental care and explained that my regular dentist had previously documented a concern regarding the fit of the crown, specifically an overhanging margin visible on X-rays taken before the crown fractured. Unfortunately, Cougar Dental declined to provide any reimbursement. Their position was that because the crown had already been replaced by another dentist, they could not take responsibility for the outcome and that I had understood the risks associated with the treatment. I understand that dental restorations can fail and that no crown comes with a lifetime guarantee. What disappointed me was the lack of any willingness to help with the significant financial expense I incurred after the crown fractured after approximately three years. I was not seeking reimbursement for the entire replacement; I was simply asking the office to consider helping with a portion of the unexpected cost. My previous crown had lasted more than 20 years, so having to replace this one after approximately three years--and then having to pay the entire $1,272.50 because of the insurance limitation--was extremely disappointing. I am sharing this experience so that others can make an informed decision about where they choose to have major dental work performed. My experience was disappointing both because the crown fractured after approximately three years and because of how my request for assistance was handled afterward.

Both dentist I met were very professional so you can't go wrong. Summary for the business: correct the work flow when it comes to Verifying insurance. Even if you outsource, train front desk to take ALL insurance information like PObox address and phone number. When doing reminder calls have front desk make sure all is well with the insurance. Please give more training to front desk if there is issues regarding anything "day of appointment" have management/ owner know of the possible problem and be stand to help correct the issues, otherwise will lose potential business. Also increase shared screen plan for Netflix or switch to different streaming services like Disney+ or peacock so all your tv work at the same time. I gave this place a chance regardless of how the building appears outside looks. Inside looks much more like a dentist office. I made my appointment about 2 month in advance I remember specifically asking the gal that took my information if she would like my insurance card PO Box address so they can located the correct information to bill. I remember asking twice and her responding back no we just need name of insurance and Id# okay I went along with it. The week before my appointment (which is today 10/12/23) I get calls and text message each reminding me and asking if I'll still keep the appointment. I responded yes since I had to request time off from work for this appointment. THE DAY of my appointment another gal calls me up telling me unfortunately they couldn't find my insurance and they would have to bill me as cash pay.... Why this wasn't this told me before hand or when I got these reminder calls I don't know. I would have been happy enough to give in more details of my insurance but due to office work flow/ structure of having only one person knowing how to check insurance benefits not being there this would not have helped. Now I would have waste my PTO and would have probably had to wait another month or two to be seen for a simple cleaning. But this was correct by the business owner and dentist Dr. Orvin. He had personally called me back during the busy client day and call and checked my insurance himself during his lunch break. Dr. Orvin was the only reason I decide to give this place another chance and would be scheduling a follow up appointment.
