This daycare is great, the teachers are very nice and try to make each kid feel special. They know everyone's names and all the parents' names. Every evening after picking my daughter up, I receive a few photos of her with the day's activities and a full report, which is so nice to get and is very helpful. The curriculum is awesome, my 1 year old is active throughout the day, and they are so creative with activities: from art to music to crafts even at this young age. They also go for a walk or play in their outside yard most days if the weather permits. The food at the daycare is pretty good, but is somewhat grains heavy, includes a lot of bread, pasta, rice etc. Of course, kids like it. I try to balance it out at home by giving more meat and veggies.

I am quite surprised to see some of the previous reviews but I'll comment with specifics to help any parents considering sending their children here. - Focus - My first experience with Montessori Alberta was in 2019 when we had a school tour. I was amazed to see 15 kids sitting on the mat all listening to Ms. Celine read to them. Ms. Celine has a way with children that really keeps them focused. -Adaptable - 2020-2022 was a hard time for schooling for all families but Ms. Celine was able to keep the school safe, keep the parents informed, and keep the kids learning every single day. When our daughter had to miss school for a few weeks, they made efforts to include her via Google Meet which was a wonderful way for my daughter to stay included. -Nurturing - Each of the teacher's here have such a wonderful way of knowing what a child needs. They really gave my daughter the push she needed but also gave her the space to grow. At each of our parent teacher interviews, we got specific and concrete feedback on how our daughter could improve and areas where she was already strong. -Community - The community of parents that bring their kids here is just wonderful and this speaks to the strength of the school and how it fosters that network. Even though our daughter is in grade 1 and all of her previous classmates are now in different schools, the parents still meet up and the kids still play together! Words cannot express my gratitude for this Montessori school. We have been with the school since…read more2013, however the owner/directress changed with the 2016/2017 school year. Every change (both big and small) that she has implemented has been for the better. Beginning with the 2017/2018 school year they had a full day kindergarten program. Additionally they offer complimentary speech assessments for all the students and should your child need extra help they will arrange for he/she to work with a speech language pathologist during school time. My daughter is very shy (very independent but very shy) and this Montessori has developed and fostered her confidence and has allowed her to be more social. They strive to have students be self-directed and to be accountable for their decisions and actions. My daughter (and my older son under the old owner) both loved literacy and mathematics when they "graduated" from this school. I have two avid readers in my household (they are only 5 and 8 years old) and this is largely a reflection of all the literacy/phonetic work done at Montessori at a young age. This Montessori has instilled the love of learning in my children which made the transition to elementary school so easy. Our love for this school, has resulted in us changing the location of some other child care for our third child so he too can attend this school for the next three years. I would whole heartedly recommend this school to any parent who is looking for a program that will truly allow your young child to shine as an individual and to be exposed to a wonderful introduction to the world of learning.

I attended from grade 2 - 12 and enjoyed every minute of it. The academic integrity of this school is above any other that I know of, and the teachers are incredibly passionate about their jobs. I wasn't a role model student, I needed a little bit more help than some, but the teachers would always put in the extra time to help me and to make sure that I understood the material. My colleagues that left MVA for another high school have often told me that the switch wasn't worth it because they were receiving a lower grade of education in trade of a bigger school with my more kids. If it weren't for the extra care and attention I received while I was attending school, I would likely not be studying for my B.Sc Psyc at UVic today. MVA helped build a solid foundation for my education, and as a result have opened many doors for me that may not have been available otherwise. Though I am bias in my opinion, obviously, it is only because I did go to the school for over a decade; I experienced first hand the quality and care that all the teachers (including the administration, as they often switch between teaching and managing) give to their students. If I could go back in time and choose differently, I wouldn't. I love this school, and if I have children in the future, MVA is my first choice. 5/5 - Would attend again

As an ESL student, I often needed extra help from the teachers due to my English level at the time, the teachers always stayed after school to assist me to go over the materials I needed help with. Because the class size was relatively small compared to public high schools, the teachers were able to ensure each one of their students was getting the best education they deserved. As an international student who came to Canada alone, I needed help not only with school but also with things in life in Calgary, i.e. finding a homestay family to stay with, extending my study permit and having someone there for me to talk to when I needed. I couldn't thank Mrs. P and Mrs S enough for all they've done for me throughout my journey here. They've gone above and beyond for what their responsibilities were as my high school principals. They took care of me like I was one of their children. My parents to this day still talk about them and thank them for taking such a good care of me. As cheesy as it may sound, MVA to me was not only my high school, but also my home. The help I received from MVA did not stop after I graduated from the school. After I graduated from MVA, I was accepted to University of Calgary. I was able to come back to school and asked the teachers to help me to go over my papers when I needed help. I graduated from the university 4 years later, and have been working for an oil and gas company since. Without the education and the help I received from MVA, I wouldn't be where I am today. Yelp only allows me to give 5 stars, I give MVA 1,000,000 stars!!

My kids & I are greeted each morning with a genuine welcome and breakfast which is a relief as I'm always rushed to get to work. When I arrive to pick them up, I am personally told how they were through the day, something special they enjoyed doing , even if it was how much they loved their lunch.(Salmon rice pilaf & pancake Friday's are their favourites ! ) My toddlers face is always freshly washed & a fresh diaper change for the drive home. My older daughter is always excited to show & tell me about new Montessori activities, and seems to be learning way more than her cousins of same age. She comes home happy and excited to share what she has learned. Our other child plays volleyball, and we have been very impressed with the coaches. They are kind, attentive, and genuinely care about the students, especially when it comes to injuries and overall well-being. Both of our children speak very highly of the principal. She is very kind and makes an effort to plan fun and engaging activities for the students. We are grateful to be part of such a caring and supportive school community.
