It seemed a bit pricy, but I'm definitely glad I bought it (and I'm GLAD it is made in the USA!). The release of this product came just at the right time for me. Over the years (decades) our electric dryers have never been very efficient at drying. I recently discovered that the original (mid-1970's) venting design was dangerous - 3" spiral flexible plastic running inside an interior wall, through the attic and hanging under a roof vent by a piece of wire. Recently, after noticing that the dangling hose had dropped down from the attic ceiling, I discovered it was mostly brittle and falling apart, even inside the wall space. The only options I could find were the water-based solutions advertised everywhere, but they all had very mixed reviews. So, I was fortunate to stumble upon BetterVent. I immediately liked the idea. We suspected the ignitor was not working. They told us we had an incorrect filter and replaced it for $130 ish. I didn;t believe it because that filter had been in there for a year and we never had an issue. After the service call, the Furnace still continued to kick on and off and couldn't keep the house at temp, so we called again in March. Surprise, it was the ignitor. They replaced it. I never received an invoice for the second visit, so I called a couple times to see what the charge was. Finally received the invoice in May. It was another $265!! I called to discuss the charges and explain that it was never fixed the first time and was talked down to repeatedly by the rude manager. He said, "what so you think you're a furnace expert?!?" Obviously, he is not an expert either. I've waited a few weeks for a call back from the owners, but nothing yet. Just paid the invoice but will never use them again or recommend them. The crew boss took the time to show me how an error had been made in the anchoring for the original installation and they had fixed that. Everthing worked again. While they were here, they also changed the light bulbs in two high up fixtures that were hard to reach and which I could not figure out how to open up. However, the HIGHEST of all 3. Rob had texted me a few times with a promised start date of July 13th. My contractor was there, and let me know they were a no show. I contacted Rob, he said for sure Wednesday, and they would be done by Friday. Well... NO SHOW on Wednesday. He sent me a text stating for sure Thursday. I explicitly asked them not to RUSH the job. The crew did not show up until Friday. I was promised 2 coats, patched holes etc. When we arrived at our house on Sat, there was overspray on all 4 windows, clearly only 1 coat of paint (you could see the old paint under the new paint). We had asked for the remaining paint to be left behind, and they did not leave it. Rob sent me a text for the final payment, and I told him not until all the issues had been addressed. I was told they would be there 'first thing in the morning' on Monday, they arrived around 10:30am. It took the 2 man team the rest of the day to clean up the over spray, and ROLL the second coat that we didn't get the first time. My husband called Rob when the crew showed up (it went to VM) with a request for him to return our call, however we have never heard back from him. The initial contact and estimate and comunication was very professional... the rest of the experience was really really not so great! I couldn't recommend this company. I should have gone with my first gut instinct. The job wasn't worth what we paid. But more disappointing was the fact the the Owner Rob Yarbro didn't have the courtesy to return our call and talk with us about the job.
