These people are just phenomenal. Yesterday, some numbskull who doesn't know how to drive ended up stuck in our driveway which is right on Lake Tahoe Blvd down past the fire station. We were not home but I could see everything on our Ring cameras. Of course, it was when this person was stalled in our driveway that Alpine Smith showed up to clear the driveway. The plow operator did the best job he could given there was a car stuck in our driveway then left. Eventually, a tow truck came and pulled out the car, but now we had a problem. Half the driveway was not plowed and it was impossible to access the bear box to put out the garbage. My plan was to call first thing this morning when they open to beg them to come out and do the other half of the drive. So, I wake up and check the cameras and sure enough, someone from Alpine Smith had already showed up, cleared the other half of the driveway and left everything in perfect shape. This, even before I finished my coffee! The plow operators are awesome as is the very nice woman who answers the phone. We pay for the entire season and then never need to worry again. read more

I have had their snow removal service at my house for six years. The service has gone down hill. They damaged my BMP's this last winter and the manager let me know it will be fixed when the snow melts. After the snow melted, she avoided my emails, and now is claiming they did not damage the BMP's because I had a trailer parked there. I sold that trailer two years ago. Alpine Smith did an amazing job clearing our driveway all last winter. You pay at the beginning of the season for the entire winter, which seems like a gamble, since you cannot predict the weather. At first we debated spending the money, but thought that we would try it for one season since this was our first winter with a house, and to hire someone to do a one time clearing was expensive, and we weren't sure how much we would need it. I cannot explain how nice it was to arrive to the house on a late Friday evening and be able to pull right in the driveway. They seemed to clear the driveway constantly - we were always impressed with the frequency of their service. I highly recommend Alpine Smith. Awful customer service, needed a generator and the gal who answered told me to hold while she checked the inventory. She ended up disconnecting the phone call and never picked up again. And yes this was during normal business hours. I live down the street but this place won't get a cent from me. The power outage affected their phone system and they were unable to answer my calls. Had their snow removal service at my residence in Meyers for several seasons. Used to be best in class. Now worst in class. Several neighbors have other service providers so I am able to compare Alpine against others in real time. Alpine did not show up 6 days that were very heavy snowfall during the 22/23 season. Alpine said "we're sorry the county plows left berms in your neighborhood and we weren't able to clear your driveway". Bullshit. Every other provider came, driving right past my house to clear neighbors' driveways. Alpine said "we don't run the route until 5" have fallen". Bullshit. I measure every snowfall and had 8.5" in my driveway at 5am when I got this excuse. Alpine's equipment pissed hydraulic fluid all over my newly sealed driveway all season. Stains everywhere. I have 3 Ring cameras on my driveway and have tons of footage that support all of my comments and claims. Mediocre service provider with terrible customer service and a "the customer is always wrong" philosophy. I won't EVER call Alpine Smith again, even if the world is flooded with piss and they are selling treehouse. read more

Continues to disappoint. Full of excuses every time you call. Feel totally ripped off after paying for a year in advance. Instead of clearing your driveway every day after a storm of 4-6", they wait another day or 2, so they apparently only have to do it once, rather than once a day as their contract states. Their behavior comes across as designed for max profit for them, not designed around giving you good service, they are utterly failing IMO. Very Disappointed**Terrible Customer Service. we have been customers for years, paying then during several drought years. I called to get our driveway plowed the day after a storm and I was told there wasn't enough snow in my neighborhood. I sent pictures to Linda with a tape measure showing 6" or more on several areas of my driveway. Still, no one came even though I told them that we had guests coming that day to our VHR. Our driveway has an incline so I was worried they wouldn't be able to get in and about their safety when they arrived as it was very slippery!! Still no response. I received a poor review from that guest and got 3 cancellations of bookings right after the review was posted. This was extremely upsetting. If those guests had slipped and fallen, I would have held alpine smith liable for damages. They put us and themselves at risk. Thankfully, no one got hurt but how stupid on their part. Linda was incredible rude when I called and she ignored my email with photos. I won't be giving them my business ever again!! read more

What happened to Alpine Smith service? Yes the contract states with 4 inches or more of snow, they will be out to clear our parking pad, and now they have continually let me down. First after all day snowfall, arriving at home to 1/2 foot of snow and had to slog my way to shovel myself. Then about a week ago about 22" snowfall in South Shore over night, and no one appeared at all. I finally gave up waiting and shoveled my way out of 1 1/2 feet of snow to the middle of the street (since the city plow only cleared one lane and it was the far side) and was an hour late to work. And now I am suffering from back issues due to the heavy snowfall, to shovel as quickly as I could. I left a phone message, no call back so I sent an email-with a response that an operations manager would contact me. Over a week later, no call back yet-this is the worst type of customer service, a total lack of interest. When we hire someone for a service to get us to work on time; we can look out the window at 2 feet of snow with a smile, knowing we can count on our provider to clear our drive. Now I know I cannot depend on your team to arrive on a timely basis. This is the most accumulated snowfall overnight that we have experienced not only this season, but in quite some time for overnight, and you were not there for me. So now for the rest of the winter I will be looking out of the window wondering if anyone will show up, and should I just put on my snow boots to clear my own way out, so what is the point of paying a winter retainer? What a total disappointment this company turned out to be. I will be looking elsewhere for snow removal and driveway sealing. When it is dumping down snow in Tahoe you can sleep well knowing that they will show up as scheduled and take care of everything for you. Used Alpine for 2017/2018 winter, service was adequate (not many trips total of 7 ) for $700.. Renewed for winter 2018/2019 , $740 with early pay discount, got our money's worth. 20+ visits. However it took phone calls and emails with pictures to get them to live up to their contract terms. Customer service is important they claim. (Just don't bug them with facts when they are skipping out). They claimed on more than one occasion that there was not enough snowfall to send someone out. Their "route supervisor" had inspected the property, no service was required. I went out took pictures of the almost 2 ft of snow in my driveway. (There were no tire tracks on our street, so clearly we were not inspected). We were plowed 3 hours later. I was on the fence as to whether I was going to use them again. They declined to renew this year, made it easy. If you use them, make them live up to their contract.
