Was doing walking tour in the area. Stopped by for beer and fries. Weather was amazing so sitting out in the patio was relaxing. Great service.

One of our favorite spots to hang out at and watch the world walk by when in Berlin recently to run the Berlin Marathon. Love how the front sidewalk seating is all facing the street, ashtray on each table, and menu of German favs and vegan options too. Talented street musicians performing every now and then. Very cool European vibe. The inside is huge with plenty of seating but being outside is the way to go. Nothing like sitting here on a sunny afternoon enjoying a tasty German beer, celebrating a successful marathon finish, and people watching.

We had the mixed plate but honestly I would just get the schnitzel. Max had the soup and thought it very hearty and tasty. (No water but over priced sparkling - we think this is so cheap of restaurants - especially when you have customers buying full dinners and not just coming to drink- we notice this is what 70% of Germans /N. Europeans do- go out and just sit at a table and drink. Americans go to (only) bars for that- we eat at restaurants). Anyway. The service was good. (She is a bit short/ concise - think that is German women in general). Nice but short and definitely not chatty- she did speak English, so it made it a lot easier. I would recommend this place- we had a good experience. Menu available in multiple languages and our German food was very good. We stayed in apartment right above so it was VERY convenient!!

Excellent stop to salvage a trip to Alt Berliner Wirtshaus Henne, traditional birthday Haus that was closed for Whit Monday ;( Sausage Parade 16,90€ was delicious All 3 sausages were delicious, our fave was the grilled and snappy smoked long Schinkenknacker, very smoky and grilled Rostbratwurst that was milk in flavor. Berliner Dampfwurst steamed was herbaceous and the softest casing. Mash came with a dark gravy not pic that was sorta sweeter and slight mace flavor. Sauerkraut was medium vinegary but firm and delish Waitress Ilka dressed in baggy liederhosen was very pleasant while rushing about and brought out a spicy mustard mentioning it's a must with sausage haha. We cleaned the plates, the biers were a treat to try something other than Berliner Pilsener which is pleasant easy drinking light lager with good body. Schultheiss Pilsener - Spicy pale lager, light hop that bites a bit on the end, very drinkable and Markischer Landmann Schwatzbier a dark malty smooth bier, not sweet like US dark malts. For our last day it made for a very memorable German dining experience and would definitely recommend for a sit down restaurant. Guess I need to return for a true Bierhaus.

Quick service, friendly staff. Lots of options to choose from. Good beer selection. Chill, casual inside.

I love the homey atmosphere. The wait staff is very efficient and the food is excellent. This restaurant is frequented by the locals so you know you'll a great meal and reasonably priced.

This place was so good, we came here twice! Visited after we toured the buildings around central Berlin. The waitress spoke English and was fun and witty, a true joy to have around. Be prepared for LARGE portions. The food is very LARGE and in CHARGE. I ordered a pig knuckle here and I had leftovers for two more meals! My friend ordered the currywurst and he fell in love, finished his entire plate! I adored their sauerkraut. We also had our first Mezzo drink here! A large refreshing glass of it! The second time we ate here, we decided to dine indoors. The place itself is large, but feels cozy and intimate. There are picture frames and Knick knacks all over the walls. It can be a little difficult navigating around, but it's all quite fun. I had a big meat plate this time and it was gorgeous. I was very full, but also very satisfied! We also ordered and apple pastry dessert. It was not too sweet and paired well with the ice cream and fruit! A wonderful end to one of our last meals in Berlin! If you are an English speaking tourist, go here. If you are someone who want good service with a friendly and intimate atmosphere, go here. If you are someone that wants some really good food, go here.

Found this gem on Yelp and loved the food! The Grand Kurfürsten salad was amazing! The pork schnitzel was really good too. The Tyrolean apple strudel was GREAT! A tour group of 50 people came in here, so this place has to be great!

This was our first meal in Germany and we all loved it. We got a few dishes to share and loved every single thing we tried. The staff was super friendly and spoke great English. It was kid friendly and was a great way to kick off our trip. Definitely recommend.

First night in Berlin and the assignment was schnitzel and this place had all the vibes. Plates on the walls, old kitchen tables made from wood and Pilsner served in 40 pound mugs. The white asparagus made the meal feel healthy (ignoring the delicious sauce it was served in).

We had three adults and two kids, one two and a five year old. The staff was wonderful to us English speaking guests. I had the Schweinshaxe which was wonderful. Everybody's meals were great. I would bet there early.

Pork shoulder dry. Scary waitress. Asking tips bugs me. Excellent sauerkraut, potato! Too close to tourists. All English speaking customers.

We came here after having been turned away by an Indonesian restaurant that was "full for the night". We are so glad that fate brought us here instead of that Indonesian restaurant!! What were we even thinking anyway -- forget the Indonesian food, get the local specialities!! Ordered the schnitzel as well as the meatballs and both were executed perfectly. Schnitzel was hot and crispy on the outside and tender on the inside -- not overly salty either. Meatballs were juicy and packed with flavor from the minced onions that they had mixed in. The beer (we ordered a Pilsner) was the best that we had tried in all of the Berlin and Dresden restaurants that we visited. I believe it is from some small private brewery affiliated with the restaurant somehow. Whatever they are doing, they are doing it right, so definitely order the house beer. Super cozy seating (you'll probably be sharing a table with other guests) and packed all night long but amazing vibes and casual comfort food. Would come back if I ever visit Berlin again!

We tried to go to a nearby Greek place but they were full and kind of rude too. We walked over here and the place was empty at 6:30 pm so a bit worried. No need. The asparagus came with a great butter and breadcrumbs sauce which drizzled on the potatoes was amazing. As silly as it sounds the boiled potatoes were the best I've ever had. Perfectly cooked through but not mushy and they kept their shape. Pretzel was excellent as was the pork schnitzel, pounded thin and perfectly fried. We finished with apple strudel with ice cream, which was just ok, maybe a 3 for me. The waitress was quite surly and we had to chase her down to order after sitting there for 15 minutes without anyone coming to the table. That was the only real downside, though I noticed other tables were getting served quickly, so maybe it's a one-off thing only. Restaurant is quite big with lots of seating, many beer options and nice clean bathrooms downstairs as well.

Walking in the door gives you the feeling of dining in a Bavarian beer hall where there are plenty of locals enjoying the atmosphere. For us tourists, photos are included for most of the menu selections. I tried their signature dish: knuckle with cabbage and a potato dumpling. Even the half portion was huge! The veal schnitzel and steak entrees were also delicious. My server spoke little English, so knowledge of German would be a plus if dining here. The restaurant seems to be known for their beer and has quite a selection, however, a smaller wine menu is also available. I would definitely recommend making a reservation or coming early. As my friends and I were leaving, the line for entry was out the door.

I came to Berlin on a cruise tour, and our guide gave us three hours to explore Berlin on our own…read more I was really hungry, so I stopped by here to grab something to eat and to hopefully experience real, authentic German cuisine. The first thing I wanted to ensure was that this restaurant accepted Apple Pay. I asked one of the waiters inside if they took Apple Pay, and he looked annoyed. When it was confirmed they took Apple Pay, I said, "Okay, I'd like to dine here then." I was a solo diner, and he said, "Okay, well, sit wherever you want." Once I sat down, I began to peruse the menu. Another waiter came over to take my order and began speaking German to me. I told him that I unfortunately don't speak German, and he got annoyed and kept speaking German. I ended up pointing to the items I wanted to order, but already wasn't feeling great about my experience. I ordered the Pork Vienna Schnitzel, and it was the most disappointing meal I have ever had. To be frank, I've had better Vienna Schnitzel in the United States at German-themed restaurants. The breading on the Vienna schnitzel was very puffy and fell off. There was no flavor to the food at all, and it was very bland. I simply ate the food out of sheer hunger, since I hadn't eaten since 7 AM that morning, and it was almost 2 PM by then. I finally paid and left, but I did not feel welcomed in the facility, and the food was a bust. Hopefully, other American tourists have better experiences here than I did.
