This is a great stop for beautiful crystals, books, gifts, and just enjoying the welcoming vibe. There's not much value here in terms of bargains, but that's not why I come here whenever I'm in town. I like the books, the ambience and the delightful smell of oils, soaps, and incense, The staff is wonderful: knowledgeable, friendly, and generous with their presence. I appreciate that. This is such a cute record and book store in Sedona near their shopping village. It's located upstairs on the second floor, I'm not sure of accessible entry assistance such as a lift or elevator. The store keep is very kind and knowledgeable and the book selection is pretty expensive for a quaint space. The ambiance is nice as the owner has actual vinyls playing while you shop. read more

ALT Books and Records, as the name applies, is this great book and record shop located within Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village. This is a fun shop! It has a lot of unique books and a lot of hard to find records. In fact, as both of record and a book collector, I would say that the shop has a lot to offer the collector and/or just the person who wants to pick up a book to read or listen to some vintage music on vinyl. The record offerings at the shop are really good. This shop really does offer a lot of very rare and unique pieces of music. For the collector, I would suggest that they check this place out if they're in the area, because you never know what you may find. You may locate that piece of vinyl that you've really been looking for. In terms of their books, they also have a nice selection. They have some pretty rare and definitely some interesting manuscripts. Again, you never know what you're going to find. So, you may find that book that you've really been looking for. The shop is located in an upstairs selling space. So, you need to keep your eyes open for it. Then when you see it, you walk around to the side stairs and go up to the business that way. A small shop that's haphazardly organized: It's fun to browse but difficult to find something specific. Items are arranged into genres (rock, jazz, etc.) but without alphabetization visitors flip through each album (or scan every book spine) to see the inventory. ALT is located on the second floor accessed by a small tile stairway. A small dirt path between two trees reaches the stairs from the sidewalk. No ADA accessibility here. read more

This difficult to find record and book store took "difficult to find" a step further. Nothing is organized in any way that makes sense. If you're a record collector looking for something specific, good luck. Also - like a lot of record / vinyl shops these days, everything is way over priced. The person who owns this joint could do himself and the customers a favor and get organized. Alphabetize your inventory and, perhaps, create a few separate sections for different genres (jazz, soundtracks). The entire experience was pretty frustrating. I wold not return. read more

Ctrl ALT but don't Delete! ALT Books and Records has good vibes and is worth a stop in Tlaquepaque arts in Sedona. A cheerfully unique used books and records shop, devoted to books on healing, the netherworld, some fiction, I just happened to pick a book off the shelf for its interesting title, and it turned out to be a signed copy by a local author that continues a journey from a popular author that I really enjoy! Always a good sign from the other side! Good selection of jazz records here and a really affordable classic rock collection (in good condition)! LOTS OF VARIETY! I had a great time shopping here, I love looking at used music. They had a fairly large variety, and they sorted vinyls by genre for ease of shopping. I ended up picking up a vinyl of Chess the musical. Books were cool, also sorted by section. I'll be back next time I'm in Sedona. read more

This small shop sits on the second floor of a building in the Tlaquepaque shopping complex. As would be expected in Sedona, there is a good selection of gently used spiritual books along with some high-quality fiction. They've also got an interesting collection of LPs. Bad Company was playing on the record player and I found myself singing to the song and when I looked around, I noticed that other people were bobbing their heads in time with the music. This is a used bookshop located on the second story, right above a liquor shop. The gentleman working here is very friendly! He took an interest in what we were doing in the Sedona area and even gave us some great suggestions on some hikes in the area, as he has lived there for the past ten years. The shop is small and you might not find the exact book you may be looking for, but I think that is what makes used bookstores so amazing....you find random books that may pique your interest! The area right outside the shop is perfect for relaxing, as it has a bench under the shade of the tree that grows against the building. read more

Good selection of records. The person managing the shop at the time was friendly. Unfortunately, I ended up buying 2 records that didn't hold up to the pricing/rating. Coming from out of town, I should know better than to not take a listen first. So that's my advice to those planning on buying a record there.
